00:00He got a chance to talk, and he said, would you ever do a reboot?
00:02And I said, I don't think so.
00:04I appreciate the show, and I appreciate what it's done for me,
00:06but the truth is, you know, I don't know if you really can capture that.
00:10And then I started to think, wait a minute.
00:12Audio can do what TV can't.
00:16We're playing a role.
00:17I'm playing Max, but that's not me.
00:19People know about Max, but they don't know very little about me.
00:22So why don't I get a chance to do something
00:24where we can talk about the 30 years since and also what we learned?

00:3032 years, what we learned, what we did, what we made mistakes on,

00:59because we show up as ourselves talking about the show,
01:03the behind the scenes.
01:04And what's really cool about this podcast is I get a chance
01:07to learn things about Erica that I never knew,
01:09even though I've known her for 32 years.
01:11That's right.
01:11Behind the scenes.
01:12And we've created this sort of a master class.
01:15If you're a performer or a filmmaker or a boss,
01:18like all of y'all are today here, a boss.
01:21We teach you, share with you, and share our ups and downs
01:25of finding our way to boss-dom ourselves.
01:28And understand that we live in a complex industry,
01:31that you may see us as characters,
01:33but we often have very little control of that.
01:35Now your generation has more control than ever,
01:37but if you don't understand what came before you,
01:40you will be destined to make the same mistakes.
01:43And if you don't understand that the leadership
01:44and sort of the, I guess, the pathways that are created
01:48need to be shaped by you.
01:49But we need to have that conversation.
01:51And we also want to leave a blueprint.
01:53We often see our beautiful culture makers come and go,
01:57and they haven't had their say.
01:59There's other people making their documentaries.
