00:00Step into a world of myth, magic, and destiny as we uncover the legendary tale of King Arthur.
00:16Our story begins not with Arthur, but with his father, King Arthur Pendragon.
00:23Consumed by a desperate love for the beautiful Lagraine, wife of the Duke of Cornwall.
00:30Uther fell gravely ill.
00:32As he lay wasting away, a mysterious figure appeared at his side.
00:37The enigmatic sorcerer, Merlin, offered Uther a deal.
00:42He would use his magic to disguise the king as Zagrain's husband, allowing him one night with her.
00:49The price, the child born from that union.
00:53Desperate, Uther agreed.
00:56Nine months later, a son was born.
00:59Arthur!
01:00True to his word, Merlin arrived to claim the infant prince.
01:05He knew the kingdom was treacherous, filled with ambitious barons who would stop at nothing to seize power.
01:12To protect the future king, Merlin entrusted the baby to a loyal and honorable knight.
01:18Sir, Ector!
01:19Arthur was to be raised as Hector's own son, alongside his biological son, Kay.
01:26He would grow up far from the dangers of the court.
01:30His royal lineage a secret kept from everyone, including himself.
01:33Arthur lived a simple, unassuming life, learning the ways of a squire, unaware of the great destiny that awaited him.
01:43Years passed, and King Uther eventually died, leaving the kingdom without an heir and on the brink of civil war.
01:50The powerful barons vied for the throne, their squabbles threatening to tear Britain apart.
01:56It was a time of chaos and uncertainty.
02:00Merlin, seeing the realm in peril, knew the moment had come.
02:04He used his magic to conjure a miraculous sign.
02:07In the churchyard of a great cathedral in London, a massive stone appeared, and embedded within it was a large anvil, thrust deep into the anvil, and stone was a magnificent sword.
02:23Inscribed on the hilt in letters of gold were the words,
02:26Whoso pulleth out this sword from this stone and anvil, is rightwise king, born of all Britain.
02:32News of the sword and the stone spread like wildfire.
02:38Knights and nobles from every corner of the land flocked to London, each eager to prove their worth.
02:44One by one, the strongest, the proudest, and the most ambitious men tried to pull the sword.
02:51They heaved and they strained, their muscles bulging, their faces red with effort.
02:57But the sword would not budge.
02:59Not even an inch.
03:01It seemed no man was worthy to be king, and the contest was eventually forgotten, as a grand tournament was organized instead.
03:10Attending this tournament were Sir Ector, his son Sir Kay, and their young squire, Arthur.
03:17As they were preparing, Sir Kay realized he had forgotten his sword back at their lodging.
03:23He impatiently ordered Arthur to go and fetch it for him.
03:26Arthur, ever!
03:27Dutiful, raced back, only to find the lodging locked and empty.
03:33Disappointed!
03:34He started back towards the tournament grounds when he happened to pass the churchyard.
03:39There, he saw the forgotten sword, still embedded in the stone.
03:44Thinking nothing of it, and simply needing a weapon for Kay, Arthur approached the stone.
03:49He placed his hands on the hilt, and with a gentle, effortless pull, the sword slid free.
03:57He had no idea what he had just done.
04:00When Arthur returned and presented the sword to Kay, the older boy immediately recognized it.
04:05At first, Kay tried to claim he was the one who pulled it out.
04:09But under his father's stern questioning, he confessed the truth.
04:13Sir Ector, his heart pounding with a mix of awe and disbelief, led both boys back to the churchyard.
04:20He made Arthur place the sword back into the anvil.
04:23Then, he commanded Kay to try and pull it out.
04:26Kay tried with all his might, but failed.
04:29Ector himself tried, but the sword was immovable.
04:33Then, he turned to Arthur.
04:35Try again, he said.
04:37Once more, Arthur grasped the hilt, and once more, the sword came free, as if from water.
04:43In that moment, sir, Ector and Sir Kay knelt before the young boy, pledging their loyalty to him as their true king.
04:51The news was met with outrage from the powerful barons.
04:54They refused to believe that this unknown, Scruffy Squire, could be the rightful heir.
05:01They demanded he proved himself again and again.
05:04On Christmas, on New Year's Day, and on Easter, Arthur repeated the feat in front of massive crowds.
05:11Each time, he drew the sword with the same impossible ease, while the mightiest lords in the kingdom failed.
05:17Finally, the common people, witnessing the miracle with their own eyes, had seen enough.
05:25They cried out that Arthur was their king, and they would have no other.
05:29With the support of the people, the reluctant nobles were forced to relent, and Arthur was crowned king of all Britain.
05:38King Arthur's reign brought an era of peace and justice to a war-torn land.
05:43He proved to be a wise and noble ruler.
05:45He married the beautiful Lady Guinevere, and as a wedding gift from her father.
05:51King Liu de Grants, he received a magnificent piece of furniture.
05:57The round table.
05:59This was no ordinary table.
06:02Around it, King Arthur gathered the bravest and most virtuous knights in the realm.
06:07Forming the legendary knights of the round table.
06:11Seated as equals, with no head of the table, they pledged to uphold justice, protect the innocent, and serve the kingdom.
06:20Thus began the golden age of Camelot, a time of chivalry, adventure, and honor that would be remembered for all time.
