According to the Book of Exodus, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to escape slavery, but Pharaoh pursued them with his army, cornering them at the Red Sea (Yam Suph). God instructed Moses to hold out his staff, causing a strong east wind to part the waters, allowing the Israelites to cross on dry ground with walls of water on their sides. When the Egyptians followed, the waters collapsed, drowning the entire army.
Details of the Event:
* The Escape: The Israelites were fleeing from bondage,, and this event represents a major, miraculous deliverance by God.
* The Miracle: The sea was divided by a strong wind, transforming it into dry land for the Israelites.
* The Pursuit: Pharaoh's army, including chariots and horsemen, followed them into the sea.
* The Destruction: As the Israelites reached the other side, the waters returned, drowning the Egyptian army.
* Significance: The event is celebrated during Passover and is a central story of divine intervention.

00:00Hello, everyone, and welcome back to our channel.
00:12Today, we re-diving into one of the most breathtaking and pivotal moments in ancient history, the
00:20story of the parting of the Red Sea.
00:23It's a tale of impossible odds, desperate faith, and a miracle so grand it has echoed through
00:30millennia.
00:31So, grab a set, and let's journey back in time to witness this incredible event unfold.
00:39Our story begins just after the Israelites have been freed from centuries of brutal slavery
00:45in Egypt.
00:46After ten devastating plagues, Pharaoh finally let them go.
00:50But their journey to freedom was far from over.
00:53God gave Moses a very specific and seemingly strange instruction, he said.
01:01Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp by the sea at Peheroth, between Migdal and the
01:08sea, directly opposite.
01:11Bolzephon.
01:12Now, this was a strategic puzzle.
01:15To any military mine, this was a terrible move.
01:20They were intentionally placing themselves in a trap, the vast, impassable Red Sea in front
01:25of them, and a desert wilderness flanking them.
01:28There was no escape.
01:29Why would God lead them into such a vulnerable position?
01:34Well, God knew Pharaoh's heart.
01:37He predicted that as soon as Pharaoh heard the Israelites were seemingly lost and wandering,
01:42his pride and regret would flare up.
01:45Pharaoh would think,
01:46They're trapped.
01:47The wilderness has them cornered.
01:50And that's exactly what happened.
01:52Word reached the Egyptian palace.
01:54The slaves have fled.
01:57Suddenly, Pharaoh and his officials had a complete change of heart.
02:02They said,
02:02What have we done?
02:05We've let our entire workforce go.
02:08The economic impact of losing hundreds of thousands of slaves must have hit them hard.
02:13The memory of the plagues faded, replaced by anger and a thirst for retribution.
02:19Without hesitation, Pharaoh assembled his military might.
02:23This wasn't just a small posse.
02:25He took his personal chariot and mobilized the most elite unit of his army.
02:30Six hundred of the best chariots in Egypt, plus all the other chariots in the land.
02:36Each commanded by a captain.
02:39Imagine a terrifying sea to cloud and dust on the horizon.
02:44Growing larger and larger.
02:47The thunder of thousands of horses.
02:50The glint of bronze in the sun.
02:52This was the most advanced and feared military machine of its time.
02:57And it was bearing down on a terrified, disorganized crowd of refugees.
03:02The Israelites, camped by the sea as instructed, looked up.
03:07Their hearts sank.
03:08The very sight they had dreaded their whole lives was now a reality.
03:13The Egyptian army, their former masters, were coming for them.
03:17The brief taste of freedom turned to ash in their mouths.
03:20Sheer panic swept through the camp.
03:23They were trapped.
03:24The sea before them.
03:32The enemy behind them.
03:33In their terror, they turned on Moses.
03:37Their words were dripping with sarcasm and fear.
03:40Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die?
03:44What have you done to us?
03:46Didn't we tell you in Egypt to just leave us alone?
03:50It would have been better to serve the Egyptians than to die out here.
03:54Their faith, so recently buoyed by the miracles of the plagues, had completely crumbled.
04:00In their minds, a life of slavery was better than this certain death.
04:04But Moses stood firm.
04:07Amidst the chaos and the cries of his people,
04:10he projected a calm authority that could only come from God.
04:13He raised his voice and declared,
04:17Do not be afraid.
04:18Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today.
04:24The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.
04:28The Lord will fight for you.
04:31You need only to be still.
04:34Imagine the power of those words in that moment of absolute despair.
04:40Be still!
04:40While every instinct screamed to run, to panic,
04:45Moses told them to stop and watch God work.
04:48At the same time, Moses himself was crying out to God.
04:53And God's response was immediate and powerful.
04:57Why are you crying out to me?
04:59Tell the Israelites to move forward.
05:02Move forward.
05:05Forward into the sea.
05:07It made no sense.
05:08But God's instructions were clear.
05:10Ethel, Moses, raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water
05:17so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.
05:21God then explained his full plan.
05:24He would harden the Egyptians' hearts one last time so they would charge in after the Israelites.
05:29Through this, God would gain glory over Pharaoh and his entire army and all of Egypt would know once and for all that he is the Lord.
05:41The angel of God, who had been leading the Israelites in a pillar of cloud, moved from the front of the camp to the back.
05:53This pillar of cloud, which had guided them with light, now became a barrier of darkness to the Egyptians, while continuing to give light to the Israelites all night long.
06:07The two camps were separated, close enough to hear each other, but the Egyptians could not advance.
06:13They were held in place, waiting for the dawn.
06:16With the Egyptian army held at bay, Moses did as God commanded.
06:21He stretched his hand out over the Red Sea.
06:26All through that night, God sent a strong east wind that blew across the water.
06:32The wind was so powerful, so persistent, that it pushed the sea back.
06:38The seabed began to appear.
06:41The waters piled up on either side, forming two immense, towering walls of water.
06:47A path of dry ground opened up right through the middle of the sea.
06:50Can you even begin to imagine the scene?
06:53The roar of the wind, the sight of a sea standing up like walls of liquid glass, and a dry path appearing where, moments before, there is only deep water.
07:05The command was given, go forward.
07:07And so, the children of Israel, men, women, children, and their livestock, began their march into the heart of the sea, with towering walls of water on their right and on their left.
07:20They were walking on the ocean floor.
07:22Seeing their prey seemingly escaping, the hardened hearts of the Egyptians drove them onward.
07:29Blinded by their arrogance, they didn't see a divine miracle.
07:33They saw an opportunity.
07:36The entire Egyptian army of Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen charged into the seabed in hot pursuit.
07:45They thundered down the same dry path, confident they could recapture the Israelites.
07:50But as the morning watch approached, just before dawn, the lord looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud upon the Egyptian army, and threw them into a state of confusion.
08:01A divine sabotage began.
08:04The wheels of their chariots started to come off.
08:07Suddenly, their greatest weapon, their speed and mobility, was gone.
08:12The chariots became heavy, bogged down, impossible to steer.
08:18The sand, which had been firm for the Israelites, became like mud for them.
08:24Panic began to set in among the elite Egyptian soldiers.
08:27They shouted to one another, let's get away from the Israelites.
08:31The lord is fighting for them against Egypt.
08:34The realization came too late.
08:38They were in the middle of the sea, their chariots broken, their advance halted.
08:44They were now the ones who were trapped.
08:47Then, the lord gave the final command to Moses.
08:50Stretch out your hand over the sea, so that the waters may flow back over the Egyptians and their chariots and horsemen.
08:57As the morning light began to break, Moses stretched out his hand.
09:01The strong east wind ceased.
09:03The laws of nature, which had been suspended, were instantly restored.
09:08The massive walls of water, which had been held back by God's power, collapsed.
09:13A roaring torrent of water crashed down upon the entire Egyptian army.
09:19The sea returned to its full depth, covering the chariots, the horsemen.
09:24And every soldier of Pharaoh's mighty host, that had dared to follow into the sea.
09:30They tried to flee, but they were engulfed by the raging waters.
09:34Of all the thousands who had pursued Israel, not a single one survived.
09:40When the sun was fully up, the Israelites, now standing safely on the other side, looked back.
09:47They saw the bodies of their former masters washed up on the seashore.
09:52The great and terrible army that had terrorized them for generations was utterly destroyed.
09:59The sea was calm again, but their world had been changed forever.
10:03On that day, the lord saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians.
10:07They saw the great power the lord had displayed against their enemies.
10:13A profound sense of awe and reverence fell upon the people.
10:17They put their faith in the lord and in his servant Moses.
10:21The whining and complaining were replaced with a powerful song of praise.
10:26They had not just escaped.
10:28They had witnessed the salvation of God in the most dramatic way imaginable.
10:33They were truly free.
10:34This story teaches us that sometimes we have to be cornered with no way out
10:40to fully witness God's power to make a way.
10:44When we face our own Red Sea moments with impossible situations in front of us
10:50and our past chasing us from behind, we are called to do the same.
10:55Do not be afraid.
10:57Stand firm.
10:58The lord will fight for you.
