If the people of Scotland want to hold an independence referendum, “that is their choice”, Jeremy Corbyn has said.During a speech at the Your Party Scotland conference in Dundee, the co-leader said that a referendum “should not be determined by the UK Government”.

00:00Obviously, I am very clear and fully understand that it is a decision for Scotland, in Scotland, by Scottish members, what the form the party should take in Scotland.
00:11Obviously, we work together at a UK level, that's obvious, but I fully understand that.
00:17And I'm very interested to see what the outcome of the vote is this morning on presumably demanding or otherwise a second referendum.
00:24As far as I'm concerned, I've always had the position that if the people in Scotland and the Scottish organisations want a referendum to decide the future of Scotland, that is their choice.
00:36It should not be determined by the UK government in Westminster.
00:40And I think we have to make that very, very clear indeed.
