Shadow Dancer is the name of an arcade game manufactured by Sega in 1989. The game is especially known for the presence of a white dog, which, along with the ninja, could also be controlled by the player. Shadow Dancer had a graphic resolution of 320 by 224 pixels and worked with a palette of over four thousand colors. The game is part of the Shinobi series, also released in arcades in the 80s. In 1990, the game was released for the Mega Drive console and was a success among owners of Sega's 16-bit video game in the early 90s. The game changed considerably in its storyline and level design, although the player can still control their inseparable white dog, one of the game's trademarks. The most striking features in the new version released for the home console are the sophisticated soundtrack, which, compared to the arcade version, was bolder, younger, and more vibrant. The visuals have also been improved. The colors, for example, have gained more intensity and brightness, giving the game a more attractive graphic design.
