00:00well realistically it's one of the craziest propositions of all time he's
00:13constantly moving and then punches are coming and he loops punches around your
00:17guard and he's constantly shifting his feet and you think he's gonna be there
00:21and he's over here and it's like this overload of thinking it's not a casual
00:27relaxed fight where you can kind of move around and get your groove and he's
00:31gonna stay on the outside and you're gonna know it's just constant for me
00:38personally I'm on a different level than everybody and when it comes down to
00:43boxing because Devin he's a boxer Joe Rogan didn't hold back when discussing
00:50Devin Haney's potential showdown with Shakur Stevenson issuing a brutal warning
00:54about the dangers of underestimating Stevenson's lightning-fast reflexes
00:58and rapid combinations that could overwhelm Haney this is a terrifying human
01:02being terrifying every aspect of your senses at every moment he's constantly
01:08moving and then punches are coming and he loops punches around your guard this is
01:12like they're throwing insane money they're throwing nutty sums of cash at
01:18people to make amazing fights happen like this is this has always been the hiccup
01:21in boxing is that people don't want to fight certain people because they want to
01:24protect their record the Saudis are like how much everybody's got a price yeah
01:29everyone's got a price we've got the how much to pay it Shakur Stevenson
01:32extended his legacy winning a monumental unanimous decision over Teofimo Lopez to
01:37capture the WBO junior welterweight title and become a four-division world
01:41champion and even raised his status in the pound-for-pound debate
01:44Shakur looked phenomenal you know dominant performance just so well what do you think
01:48about that man he made it easy you know I was saying like if T.O. was to fight more
01:53on a back foot and throw punches when Shakur throws that's the only time you're gonna get
01:57Shakur but T.O. he has a habit of getting out position all the time he'll double up his right hand turn square or turn southpaw
02:05that's not gonna work bro that's not gonna you're not gonna take up enough space
02:09to touch Shakur. Shakur's reflexes and his countering was just keeping T.O. at bay it
02:16was an easy night from round one for him. Shakur got the dub.
02:19Excellent. Appreciate your time brother. Congrats champ.
02:22Stevenson controlled the fight with immaculate tactics and ring intelligence
02:26landing significantly more punches and showcasing a level of control that few
02:31fighters have managed on a big stage.
02:33Just made T.O. female look like a novice. I mean that's how good he is. 120, 108. I mean just unbelievable. Unbelievable.
02:42Is that what you expected from Shakur? No. No. I mean listen I expected an incredible performance but I didn't expect it to be completely one-sided. I mean he won every round in my opinion.
02:51Like the golfing levels was phenomenal and I said to Bud like going into this world he could do 40 rounds. Shakur.
03:00Like never out of control, footwork, timing, shot selection. I actually think he could have stopped T.O. female if he would have stepped on him.
03:08T.O. female looked like frustrated, just obviously busted up to the face. He's a phenomenal fighter, a four division world champion.
03:16Afterward he openly contemplated his next moves including name dropping Devin Haney as a potential future opponent.
03:23Stevenson is confident he will outbox Devin.
03:26Devin, he's a boxer. It's not like he's a f***ing stone-cold killer who's just gonna go in there and try to knock me the f*** out.
03:35Yeah. He's gonna try to outbox me. I'm the greatest boxer. How do you? So that's how I feel about the fight.
03:44Yeah. But it all gotta make sense from a business standpoint. I don't like getting up here and negotiating against myself.
03:52For sure. But for me, I'm willing to make the fight happen.
03:56But do you see it as it being that could, you know, like we always said the Four Kings, even though you wasn't a part of it,
04:01the whole thing, the whole plot was is like at the end of the road, there's gonna be two guys left standing and that's the big fight.
04:07Do you see that as that's potentially what that could be?
04:10But Stevenson has made it clear that if he decides to fight anyone
04:40147 pounds, he would insist on adding a rehydration clause. He believes weight advantages can play a major role,
04:47and he wants fair conditions to ensure neither fighter gains too much size overnight.
04:52If y'all want me to come to 147, I'm coming in with rehydration clause. I don't even do that.
04:58But why am I going up to these guys' weight classes if I'm not planning on going there? So any of y'all,
05:04y'all want to fight me at 147? Yeah, rehydration. 10 pounds. 10 pounds rehydration. Like the IBF rule, basically.
05:10You got to understand. I mean, on fight night, when we get in the ring, they're going to be 157, maybe 158. Max.
05:20No bigger than 160 that night. Right. I'm cool with that. So if we could get it like the IBF rule, 10 pound rehydration.
05:28Yes. But think about it. If there's no rehydration clause, these guys going to give it up to 170 pounds.
05:38Yeah, 175. I'm in the 140s on fight night. Yeah.
05:42So if I'm 140, they 170. Bro, man, what am I in here wrestling around with these? Right. Come on, bro.
05:49Joe Rogan expressed strong confidence in Shakur Stevenson, saying that even if a rehydration clause
05:54is not included, it won't make a difference. Rogan believes Shakur's skill level, speed,
06:00and boxing intelligence are so high that he will still outbox opponents at 147.
06:05Yeah, that's nothing. And there's some sort of a rehydration clause. Listen, kids,
06:09it ain't going to matter. He's not going to come in drained. What he's going to do is just do extra
06:13cardio, and that's just going to make him more dangerous. He's going to be terrifying.
06:18Terrence Crawford has praised Shakur Stevenson's skill and suggested that other fighters hesitate
06:23to fight him, implying that some boxers are reluctant to match up with Stevenson because of
06:28how difficult he is stylistically and technically. There's a reason why certain fighters didn't want
06:34to take the chance to step in the ring with this fighter. He's great. A lot of people started saying,
06:41oh, he's a runner. He's this, he's that. Just to detour people from being excited to see him fight
06:48because he's not knocking people out and all that crazy stuff. But they would see why people really
06:54don't want to get in the ring with him come tomorrow. I know you've shared the ring with him
06:57tomorrow and plenty of fans. What makes Shakur Stevenson great? What makes him different?
07:01What makes him, I don't want to say the ilk of yourself, but in the same kind of era,
07:05the Bud Crawford era, he's got a Shakur Stevenson era coming out. Everything. Everything. The offense,
07:10the defense, the poise, the rhythm, the distance, the timing, the punch placement, the react time. Like,
07:20I can go on and on. The toughness, the grit, the grind. He's amazing. And tomorrow he will show me.
07:29How do you think it ends tomorrow night? Do you believe that Shakur Stevenson can stop
07:33Teofimo Lopez? Because people aren't really talking about that every night. Listen, if T.O. get out of
07:39line, you know, he could get hurt. But I see Shakur outboxing him to a decision. A unanimous.
07:47Stevenson said he believes he is simply too good for the fighters at 135 and 140 pounds,
07:54because he has already beaten everybody put in front of him in those divisions. He feels his talent,
07:58speed, and technical ability separate him from the rest of the competition,
08:02and that is why fans are now demanding to see him move up to 147. Shakur explained that people
08:08want bigger challenges for him because they know he dominates at the lower weights. He thinks a jump
08:13to welterweight would create the most exciting matchups and prove once again that his boxing
08:18skills can translate to any division. This 147 thing, cause it's like okay, oh he's better than
08:24everybody at 135, 140, nobody could beat him so now we gotta test him out at 147. Cause he
08:32that good. Yeah, but you know that though, that's the- But tell me I'm that good then.
08:37Tell me I'm that good then. If that's how y'all feel, tell me, I wanna hear it.
08:41Yeah, I like that. I will say yes, you are that good. And when people are that good,
08:47we wanna see a resistance fight. That's all we saying. And that's what I thought T.O. was gonna get,
08:52and we ain't get that. Damn. Damn, y'all. We gotta find another one. I feel bad for y'all. Cause y'all
09:00gonna be waiting for the rest of my career. God damn. We wanna see some, it ain't gonna happen.
09:07The most y'all gonna ever get is Zepeda. That was y'all best hope and chance at getting resistance.
09:15Stevenson has made it clear that the reason this fight has not happened yet is that the money offered
09:19was not enough. He explained that a matchup of this magnitude requires the right financial terms,
09:25especially considering the level of risk involved when two elite fighters face each other.
09:30Shakur believes he has earned the right to be properly compensated for stepping into a major
09:34showdown and he refuses to accept a deal that does not reflect his value in the sport. He emphasized
09:40that it is not about avoiding competition, but about making sure the business side matches the
09:44importance of the fight for Shakur. The money must be right. Everybody's asked you about,
09:49obviously whenever you're going to fight Haney, because I think we keep hearing about the
09:53negotiations falling through. Is that fight ever going to get made? I would love for the fight to
09:58happen. Y'all can clearly see that I want the fight. Yeah. Is what's off about it still the split?
10:04I don't think that they want the fight to happen right now while we fight this big risk fighter right
10:09now rather than wait a couple of years and we can make more money. But my only issue with it,
10:15right? Yeah. If that's the case, don't perpetrate. You're talking big, but truth be told,
10:20you put me and him in a ring where nobody else can help him. There's nobody else that's going to be
10:26able to fight for him. What's going to happen? Like he know deep down inside that I'm the truth.
10:30That's what he know. He know he done been in the ring with me several times. Go ask him,
10:33like really ask him and tell him to be honest about me as a fighter. You'll really hear how he
10:39talk. Honestly, I think he's a good fighter, but I think that is levels. Meanwhile, Devin Haney has
10:45repeatedly said that Shakur Stevenson made a big mistake by turning down the fight because of the
10:50money on the table. Haney claimed that the 25% purse split he offered Stevenson, even though it was
10:56the smaller share, would have resulted in Stevenson earning more than he ever had in all of his
11:00previous fights combined and that rejecting such a payday was a missed opportunity for both legacy
11:06and financial gain. If you look at Shakur's resume and look at my resume, who's brought the tougher
11:12opposition, me or him? The 25% would have been, you know, bigger than all his fights put together he
11:18made. All put together? Put together. Were you shocked that he said no? Yeah. Eagle, you know,
11:23made him say no, you know, his ego and the people around him. Cambosis offered me the 22% and the two
11:30fights to go to Australia and to go sign with a different promoter and to, you know, get the
11:34vaccine and go do this and do that. Now that I'm the champion and I'm giving somebody the offer to
11:41make more money than they ever made in their life, put together in all their fights. I'm the bad guy.
11:46See, when I fought Cambosis, it wasn't, it wasn't for all the money. I thought I was fighting for the
11:51same money that I was already making. I know that I could beat him. I know that once I win, I'm going to
11:56be able to call the shots and make all the money myself. So now it's that time and they don't want
12:04that. Timothy Bradley Jr. has said that Shakur Stevenson has all the tools to be boxing's next
12:10big face, praising his technical skill, defensive mastery, and boxing IQ, and suggesting that those
12:16qualities could help Stevenson carry the sport forward as audiences learn to appreciate elite
12:22technique over pure power. Bradley believes Stevenson's disciplined approach and ring savvy
12:27set him apart and could make him a defining figure in boxing's future, especially as he continues to
12:32pick up big wins and remain undefeated. His comments reflect the view that Stevenson's combination
12:37of precision and strategy makes him not just a great fighter, but someone capable of being one of
12:42the sports most recognizable stars. Devin Haney, you know, Connor Ben, like there's a lot of fights that like
12:52Shakur can like be involved in and beat all these dudes, man, beat all of them, has a chance of beating
13:00all of them, right? And solidifying, you know, his mark in the sport, you know, being, you know,
13:11the great of his generation. You know, when Crawford left, I told y'all that, you know,
13:17Shakur was the next guy on the throne. And I truly wholeheartedly still believe that. I know there's guys
13:23that, uh, has worked with Shakur in the past that swear up and down. Oh shoot. I've even forgot, uh,
13:29Murataya, Murataya, Murataya is there too. Guys like Andy Cruz. I mean, there's a lot of talented guys
13:36that people respect that Shakur has the ability to freaking challenge, man. Now imagine him fighting
13:44all those guys and putting that on his resume, man. We talking about, we talking about legendary,
13:50legendary status. We talking about Mount Rushmore type of stuff, you know, because, you know,
13:55all these guys are the elite guys of this generation and people respect him. And if Shakur was to beat
14:01them, you know, he's going to definitely make his mark heavy in the sport and become very extremely
14:07popular, extremely popular, you know, even more popular than what Terrence Crawford is right now.
14:13You know, and I feel like Shakur can be that, that face of American boxing that, you know,
14:19we've always had, you know, we have Floyd Mayweather. I think he can be as popular as Floyd Mayweather,
14:25if not more popular than Floyd Mayweather, you know, so I don't know, man, guys, you know,
14:31tell me what you think, you know, am I tripping? Uh, but there's a lot of potential matchup for
14:38Shakur that can really grow his star, man. Mike Tyson has openly praised Shakur Stevenson's boxing
14:45ability, describing him as a true specialist in the sport. Tyson said Stevenson's skill,
14:50technique, and defensive brilliance make him extremely difficult to defeat,
14:53even if some fans don't always appreciate his style. He explained that boxing is an art,
14:58and Stevenson's precision, ring intelligence, and ability to avoid damage are what allow him to
15:03dominate top opponents. Tyson also complimented Stevenson's recent performances, noting his sharp
15:09combinations, smooth head movement, and classic hit-and-not-get-hit approach that represents pure
15:15boxing mastery. How could Shakur beat him if he can't hurt him? That would be my question.
15:34Listen, um, you don't have to hurt him, you have to outscore him. You know, Shakur takes a good shot,
15:41though. You know, he's a specialist. That's why some fights that he doesn't look good in,
15:46because he's so superior. And it's just, it's boring watching sometimes. But he's a specialist,
15:52he knows what he's doing, he's hard to beat. Stevenson's commanding win over Teofimo Lopez
15:57didn't just add another trophy to his collection, it solidified his place among boxing's elite.
16:02On January 31st at Madison Square Garden in New York, Stevenson faced Lopez for the WBO and Ring
16:09Magazine junior welterweight titles and dominated from start to finish. He outclassed Lopez over 12
16:15rounds, controlling distance with precise movement, sharp counters, and a disciplined jab that kept his
16:21opponent off balance while hardly taking any damage himself. All three judges scored the fight 119-109 in
16:28Stevenson's favor, reflecting how thoroughly he dictated the pace and flow of the bout, leaving
16:33little doubt about his superiority in the ring. With this victory, Stevenson became a four-division
16:38world champion, adding the super lightweight crown to his previous titles and demonstrating not only
16:43his technical brilliance, but also his mental composure under pressure.
16:48Masterpiece, man. He just, he looked so smooth, calm, and relaxed, man. That was beautiful. That was the
16:53one boxing lesson that you future guys, young guys and amateurs just turning pro, watch that, man. That was
17:01beautiful. He heard his father say in the corner, what happened to your fast hands? That didn't work, man.
17:10So overall, like, just given the styles that you know in boxing so well, like, was there any way that
17:15Teal could have put on a better performance, a better plan, and gotten a better result?
17:19No, I don't think whatever he would have brought to the table would have worked, man. You know, Shakur just
17:24got a great boxing mind. You know, that's just it. He's got a great boxing mind, and once he put his
17:31mind to it, he's gonna get the job done. What is it gonna take to beat someone like him? I don't
17:36know, man. Probably wanna stay away from that kid, man. Yeah. The statistics also show his dominance.
17:42Stevenson landed far more punches overall and connected more effectively with both jabs and power
17:47shots throughout the fight. His performance showed an ability to adapt and execute strategy at the highest
17:53level, marking a major milestone in his career, and setting the stage for even bigger challenges
17:58ahead as he continues to shape his legacy in the sport. 119, I think, to 109 with scorecards,
18:04so basically like 11 rounds to one. What did you think about the outcome and the fact that he was
18:08able to win so dominantly? One, shout out to New York, to 2-2 Bruce Ken, Ken, he's world champion,
18:15now I'm so proud of him. Been watching him fight the undercards and all this stuff forever in the
18:20world champion. I was bawling, I was crying, y'all folks. Talk to him, he signed, every time he come
18:27out to see his story, see how much he done, overcame everything. Now he get his girlfriend
18:31knocked out, looking good against Jermaine Ortiz, wonderful. Now we got, now we got the main event
18:38with Shakur, and I knew that was going to happen. Everybody be talking all that Ron Rodderley,
18:42me, I know boxing. And like I told y'all, we was going to see a little bit of athleticism,
18:47but we was going to see Shakur beating his jab, going to the body, and we saw blood today.
18:55Shakur did great today. The only thing I can ask for is to stop him. I can't ask for nothing else.
19:00Eddie Hearn recently came out strongly in support of Shakur Stevenson,
19:04saying the slick southpaw is one of the most underrated fighters in boxing today.
19:08According to Hearn, fans and critics alike often overlook just how difficult Shakur is to beat,
19:14because his style isn't built on knockouts, but on elite fundamentals, ring IQ, and defensive mastery.
19:20Hearn emphasized that Stevenson's ability to control distance, neutralize dangerous opponents,
19:25and dominate rounds makes him a nightmare matchup for anyone, regardless of weight class. He also
19:30pointed out that winning cleanly and consistently at the highest level requires a special kind of
19:36greatness that often goes unappreciated. In Hearn's view, Shakur's resume, discipline,
19:41and technical brilliance deserve far more respect than he currently receives from the boxing public.
19:46I think Shakur is massively underrated in terms of his achievements and his ability. Everyone in
19:51boxing knows how good Shakur is. He is pound for pound, top five in terms of quality. But look at the
19:58achievements of the young man. At 28 years of age, he's already a three-division world champion.
20:03This is to become a four-division world champion. Quite remarkable. And Teofimo always rises to the
20:09occasion. Sometimes you see a little bit of a lacklustre performance when he's not motivated,
20:14when there isn't kind of any legacy on the line. This is different. This is a sold-out Madison Square
20:19Garden between two of the elite fighters of our generation. And the best thing about this fight is
20:24we're seeing them in their prime. What do you think? Was Stevenson's performance a masterpiece
20:28of boxing intelligence? Or do you want to see him take on even tougher challenges like Haney or Ben?
20:34Drop your thoughts in the comments.
