00:00Back in the day, I think a lot of people would call me bold actress.
00:04There are so many girls, when I came to Bombay, something happened to me.
00:07Don't want to talk about it.
00:08Why has it taken you so long to come back?
00:12Because the last time I saw you was in Ragini MMS.
00:16After Ragini, I got really like tortured.
00:21That every call I used to get and they'd be like,
00:23This film is for so many young actors or young people who are so vulnerable.
00:30Or very sweet, you know, they come from all over the place and things like this happen.
00:35Never have I ever pretended to be fine with a smaller role or a lesser screen time.
00:41Oh, like, I am so ashamed of the screening house that I did.
00:46I secretly hoped that a rival's project fades.
00:51It's a project is good, the project should be good.
00:54What's one behind the scenes moments from Lights, Camera, Lies that you'd never want leaked?
01:00Go on to get one of the scenes.
01:01Who's one actor, who's praise for you, didn't ever be genuine?
01:06Yeah, Amir Khan said.
01:08What did he say to you, Karishma?
01:10He said, oh.
01:12Hello, so today we have a special edition of Table for Two.
01:16Because we have two lovely guests with us.
01:19Karishma Sharma and Ganesh Darshan, sir.
01:22Welcome to Table for Two, Bayesha Net.
01:24Thank you so much for having us.
01:26I am so happy to have you.
01:29Firstly, Karishma, I have to ask you, you're looking so gorgeous in this saree.
01:33Why are you wearing a saree today?
01:35I want to do that.
01:37I think, you know, the series where I think it's about women empowerment.
01:43Yeah.
01:43And back in the day, I think a lot of people would call me bold actress.
01:49Bold actress.
01:50Bold actress.
01:50And I feel like, you know, I am a versatile actor.
01:56And I don't think a piece of clothing or anything can make you bold.
02:04Bold has something to do with being courageous.
02:08Like, you know, standing up for someone or, like, you know, if something is going on with someone,
02:14if someone's beating up someone, you take stand for someone, you know.
02:18Women empowerment.
02:19It's not about clothing.
02:21So if I wear a bikini, it doesn't mean that I am not bold.
02:24Yeah, I'm bold.
02:25But, like, I feel I love saris also.
02:28So that's also one thing.
02:29Yeah.
02:30So, I mean, the message that you're trying to convey is that whether it's a saree or whether
02:34it's a bikini in this society, nobody should be told what to wear, what not to wear, or
02:40stereotype them as bold or not bold.
02:42Yeah.
02:43Because the only thing that you should be allowed to wear is your dignity, which you're
02:47wearing today.
02:48Yes.
02:48And I'm so glad you're here.
02:51Yeah.
02:52So you put it together.
02:53Huh?
02:53You put it, you articulated way better than I did.
02:57I mean, every girl should not be asked to, like, you know, choose what they should wear
03:02or not wear, whichever profession that they're in, especially in the industry that, you know,
03:06you guys are.
03:07What about this song?
03:09It's all about.
03:10The girls who are, like, who are abused and who are powerless and people think that these
03:16girls are, like, they think the girls are grunted by seeing their attire.
03:21Now, then one girl stands for those girls who are powerless, who are helpless, and then
03:28this girl, whose directamente is Sonal, she empowers them and finally they get the justice.
03:37I say justice, which should have been delivered.
03:40Yes.
03:41She gets that done.
03:43Which is amazing.
03:44Yeah.
03:44I mean, you know, at the end of the day, justice should prevail.
03:48Yeah.
03:48So I think you have stories to tell, we have cameras to face today, but there are also so
03:54many lies because you're, you know, like, series is all about lies.
03:58And you also have a brand new Amazon Prime series.
04:01So congratulations on that, on the release of Life Camera Lies.
04:06And on that note, I just want to ask you, so the premise of the story, which is by now
04:11very clear, is that, that, you know, she basically is somebody who's bold enough or rather say
04:21courageous enough to take a stand for people who are not able to take a stand for themselves.
04:26Right?
04:27Yeah.
04:27And I feel like that happens to so many people.
04:30I mean, the, the film itself, I mean, he's written it.
04:33So I feel it, it's the, it's the direction and the writing first of all, which comes into
04:38place.
04:39And I really am thankful to him that he chose me to do it because I feel like you, there's
04:48so many girls.
04:48When I came to Bombay, something happened to me, don't want to talk about it.
04:52Okay.
04:52When you're wonderful, when you're young, you know, you have dreams and you know, you're
04:56like, okay, I'm going to come to Bombay.
04:58I'm going to like, you know, do it.
04:59And, you know, anybody tells you anything and you sort of, you know, when you come from
05:04a small town, you sort of like believe or you get into it.
05:07You're like, nah, it's okay, you know.
05:10So for, I think this series is for a lot of women, you know, it's just not in our industry.
05:17It happens in, in sort of other professions as well.
05:22Everywhere.
05:23Even with politics, even with like, you know, I would say corporate.
05:29Everywhere.
05:31It is happening.
05:32But yeah, I mean, because we are in front of the camera, it's very obvious.
05:36So, yeah, so I think he gave me the chance that.
05:41No, no, no.
05:42We were grateful that she came on board.
05:43She put in the role like, glove in hand.
05:46We're all eating a humble pie here.
05:48So we submitted the series to the distributors and they gave the hashtag that is speak up.
05:55Speak up.
05:56Speak up.
05:57Speak up.
05:58Speak up.
05:59Speak up.
06:00Speak up.
06:01Speak up.
06:02Speak up.
06:03Speak up.
06:04Okay.
06:05The girl or anybody, the woman who gets abused won't speak.
06:07And there are so many reasons behind that.
06:08You know, they should speak up.
06:10Once, they don't want to speak.
06:11Power dynamics are okay.
06:12You know, I'll tell you what happens.
06:13That also happens.
06:14And you know, you are so scared to speak because you feel like, you know, yeah, like, first
06:22of all, your parents, there's a big shame, shame, judgment, shame, there's so many things
06:32related to it.
06:33And like, I feel like only, you know, when you see life, you grow up.
06:37I mean, today, I, you know, I can say that no one can do that to me.
06:41But this, this film is for so many young actors or young people or so many people, young people,
06:49you know, who are so vulnerable or very sweet, you know, they come from all over the place
06:53and things like this happens.
06:55And not just to girls, it happens to boys also.
06:58Yes.
06:59And I feel like people should.
07:00So, the things that we're talking about here is basically.
07:04This is basically about the, the.
07:07Like that.
07:08The favors.
07:09People have to compromise themselves in order to get ahead in the industry.
07:12Is that what they have to compromise?
07:13In the offices.
07:14In the offices.
07:15In the offices.
07:16Wherever.
07:17Wherever, yeah.
07:18In any industry.
07:19Basically saying that, you know, that, that merit, like on the basis of merit, meritocracy
07:24doesn't really have.
07:25Yeah.
07:26That's what I'm saying.
07:27You know, you should take, I mean, it's changed now, I think, but I feel like you should, like,
07:36today as he said that, you know, he likes my acting.
07:40That's why I am on board.
07:41So, I'm really happy.
07:43But it shouldn't be like, you know, oh, because she can give me something.
07:47And, you know, but that's just like, not okay.
07:50Like, and that just.
07:51And I would like to add on, she's not just a good actress.
07:54She's, she's very hard-working and she did fighting, she did action, action.
08:00Well, she was too good in acting and the action that, the result was like, awesome.
08:06Action, for action, she didn't take any time.
08:09Yeah.
08:10And that is so hard-performing.
08:12So, you didn't like use a body double?
08:14No, no, no.
08:15She did everything and she did very good.
08:17And I think that one last confession, there was only like, one line written.
08:22Like, we didn't have a very big scene.
08:24But, I don't know where all the khinda came, all this frustration came out and I, you see.
08:32Like, you see, like, I was very, I thought like, mad durga came inside me and I was like,
08:44Bata! Bata! Bata! Bata! Bata!
08:46Bata! Bata! Bata!
08:48You know, but actually, I'm that kind of person.
08:50Like, it frustrates me when anybody is going through wrong things.
08:55It can be a guy, it can be a girl, it can be anyone.
08:57Injustice is not okay.
08:59For me, injustice is not okay.
09:02You cannot play with someone and manipulate someone and you know, get things out of them
09:07and then just be like, oh, you know, the girl's bad.
09:10Yeah, but you know, talking about, it's a very sensitive topic, okay, Karishma and Dinesh
09:17as well.
09:18But, I would like to talk to you first.
09:20You've been in this industry, what, since 2014, I believe?
09:2314, 15, yeah.
09:24So, it's been, let's say, 10 years now, 10, 11 years, past a decade, almost.
09:30Why has it taken you so long to come back?
09:35Because the last time I saw you was in Ragini MMS.
09:38Yeah.
09:39So, what really happened?
09:40You took a break?
09:41You took a sabbatical?
09:42No, Ragini happened and then like, after Ragini, I got really like, tortured.
09:50Like, every call I used to get and they'll be like, madam, a bold scene you'll do.
09:56I'm like, brother, tell me the story.
09:59Like, tell me the story.
10:00I'm an actor.
10:01I am not here to do bold scenes, you know, like that's not.
10:04And by bold scenes, you mean, semi-nude or like.
10:07No, no, no.
10:08Actually, in the film.
10:09So, that happened, but then I did comedy circus and then I did Kapil Sharma.
10:14Yeah.
10:15But those who, I mean, I love comedy, but like, you know, I always wanted to do like, powerful
10:21roles where people see me as an actor, actor, right?
10:25So, he saw that in me and luckily and I'm grateful to God that, you know, this year,
10:32all the content that is coming, it's not like, bold, but my character is very bold.
10:38So, and...
10:39Can we like say that, you know, that it's not the stereotypical bold, but my character is
10:44actually bold?
10:45Exactly.
10:46Can we put it like that?
10:47Yeah.
10:48Exactly.
10:49And to add on again, we showed the bold film.
10:53One second, but your name is Sonal in the, right?
10:56Yeah.
10:57Sonal in the, right?
10:58Yeah.
10:59Literally Sonal.
11:00Yeah.
11:01Nice one.
11:02Yeah.
11:03Yeah.
11:04Sorry, sorry to interrupt.
11:05I was thinking, we shot the film, it is like 26 minutes film and we shot the film in
11:09two days.
11:10Okay.
11:11So, I was talking about her acting, because she's late and she had a lot of dialogues,
11:14emotions, she's bold and even she cries because she can feel the pain of the girls.
11:2030 minutes footage, all day and different locations and action sequence and tattoo at
11:27a level where you can't compromise on the scene.
11:30You have to maintain the quality, right?
11:32This is for someone else.
11:33Of course.
11:34That was prepared for.
11:35We shot 26 minutes footage in two days.
11:38All because of this actress.
11:40She's truly bold when it comes to acting.
11:43Wow.
11:44That's a lovely compliment.
11:46Would you like to say something to him?
11:48Thank you so much.
11:49I mean, he's starting the year and finally like two of my other series is also coming.
11:55Okay.
11:56Tell us about that first.
11:57So, there is one which is like kind of a horror film.
12:02And that is again not like any bold, but it's a beautiful, beautiful shot.
12:09Come on, you're acting as bold, so it's bold.
12:11And it's beautifully shot.
12:13Again, she's somebody who's like taking charge of the whole scenario, what is happening.
12:20Can't say much.
12:21And then I'm doing another series with Sunil Shetty sir, Rajpal Yadhar, Bujaras sir, Raghuvir Yadhar.
12:29So, that was, in that also, I am doing a lot of action and you know, she's somebody who takes charge for her parents, you know, who's like a fighter, who's, you know, she's actually, it's so weird.
12:43She actually takes something and Sunil Shetty sir gets her justice in a way.
12:50So, I can't say much, but like.
12:52Okay, but again, yeah, it's a beautiful story.
12:55Beautiful story.
12:56Yeah, it's a beautiful story.
12:57And I'm so lucky.
12:58I feel like I'm so lucky to be a part of all the films.
13:01I mean, I started with him and I'm so happy that he started my year with this and you know, people are actually.
13:08On a great point.
13:09And the film is getting amazing response.
13:11Yeah.
13:12It's a fantastic, like short films, sometimes like don't get capital, you know, like hype.
13:17Yeah.
13:18But this is getting good.
13:19Trailer is good.
13:20Yeah.
13:21And your acting is good.
13:22And your direction is good and your writing is good.
13:25And you know, the best part about him, he's not like someone who shout or yell or anything.
13:31He's so chill on set.
13:33He's so chill.
13:34Like he's just like, I am like, get in the Lord.
13:38And, you know, it's not like so, I mean, you're doing serious work, but still there is, you know, that comfort and he lets you perform and obviously directs you also, you know, do it like this.
13:52Like, obviously without direction, I feel like, you know, an actor cannot like perform.
13:57But again, I mean, I told that our action director was Harparthir Kali.
14:04Well, he's the Harparthir Kali.
14:06Harparthir Kali did all the movies like Hadar Rajiv.
14:09He didn't tell her.
14:11Secondly, when it is seen, she cries.
14:15And she couldn't hold the thing that three of her friends who are working in an office, they are getting abused.
14:24And they are feeling helpless.
14:27Out of three months, two months have passed and they want to pass one another month to get rid of and they want to get promoted.
14:34But my friends were not like that.
14:37I know Sanvika, right?
14:39No, this is wrong.
14:41And she's, she cries.
14:43And she was crying.
14:44She empathizes with them.
14:45She was crying in actual.
14:46In action scene, she was like doing real action.
14:49In emotional scene.
14:51Emotional scene.
14:52She was very emotional.
14:53She brought out that emotion.
14:54Was it something personal that you sort of felt at that point?
14:58So there's a lot of everything everyone goes through and like, you know.
15:02Without naming names or any sequences, I'm not asking you to name or, you know, be in an uncomfortable position.
15:08But I'm just asking in general.
15:09I mean, yeah.
15:10Did it come from a place of...
15:12There has been injustice to me with, I feel like, you know, casting directors in India are so lazy.
15:19Yeah.
15:20That they don't want to like, see or, you know, experiment or they don't, they don't see that okay, a person can be versatile, right?
15:27They always saw me as a bold actor.
15:30And I think now this perception is going to change.
15:33True.
15:34And what was the question again?
15:36What was the question again?
15:37What I said was when you were like, like he said that you were emotional during the location.
15:42Yeah, yeah.
15:43Actually emotional.
15:44So there was something stirred inside you.
15:45Obviously something did happen to me when I was very new, when I was very young, I was naive, I was, you know, not aware that, you know, how the industry works and more than that, you know, it's like, it was like, you know, you're doing the film, you're already at the location and, you know, someone's misbehaving, but you're not, you don't have that power.
16:06You don't know people who will help you out. And today I can, if someone misbehaves, I can make a call and you know, the person can really, but exactly why I felt because, and plus I feel like, again, camera just makes me really happy.
16:22And I forget the world. Like for me, if it's action, and I know what I have to do, I, I just, I just like, I don't know, I'm not like, I'm not Karishma.
16:32I've become that character. And I think that's the most peaceful and that's the most happiest place I can be.
16:39But tell me one thing, you've not been to an acting school or have you been to an acting school?
16:43I've done workshops. I've done Atul Mongia's workshop. I've done Rakshet and I keep doing workshops. I keep watching films.
16:51I keep reading about cinema, about Al Pacino, Shah Rukh Khan's journey, Irfan Khan's journey.
17:02So I just really observe the kind of, you know, I think this is the second start. I've started again. I've arrived now again.
17:13to now again. So it's going to change. This is your like, you know, comeback. It is my comeback.
17:18Yeah. Can we put it that way? Yeah. What a banger comeback. No? Thank you.
17:23So now guys, I have a very fun segment for all of us actually. Okay. I'm going to say some questions.
17:31I'm going to ask you guys. Actually, I'm going to say some statements. Okay.
17:34Okay. And the game is very predictable. Karishma, can you predict what it is?
17:39Coffee with Karan. Coffee with Karishma.
17:42That's why you have coffee shots right here. Yeah, we can actually name it Coffee with Karishma. No?
17:49But it's never have I ever sort of a thing. Yeah, never have I ever. So it's a never have I ever.
17:54Very simple game. I will say a statement like never have I ever peed in a public toilet. Okay.
18:01Okay. So if you have done that, you take a shot. If I have done that, I'll take a shot. Okay.
18:06Okay. So should we start? Okay. And how's Ruth? Huh? It means no lying.
18:12Just because your series has lies doesn't mean you're going to lie.
18:15We are not liars. We're showing people are liars. Yeah.
18:19Okay, let's start. Okay. Never have I ever been a part of any project just for the money.
18:28Okay. Daring. You know what's happening. Fair enough. Why not? Okay.
18:35Never. That's why it's always happening.
18:38Never have I ever Googled myself right after a trailer or a promo job or something.
18:45I do. You do right? So you should drink.
18:49I'm sorry. Okay. Never have I ever sent a congratulatory message to somebody that I didn't mean.
18:59No. Like suppose you like the role in a film or something and you said like oh congrats.
19:04I do. This looks great. You do without meaning it.
19:07Sometimes we have to. Yeah, then drink. Have a shot. No. No, I don't do that. You don't do that.
19:11No. If I don't like it, I don't like it. I'm not like. No. Okay. So.
19:16We have to do. Krishma, so many times.
19:18You have to be diplomatic in the school. A little bit.
19:21You have to like my wife friend didn't act well. But I have to say oh.
19:25Wow. Very good.
19:26You have to say. Go like that. Yeah.
19:29I'll just say truth. I'll just do it a little bit.
19:31Actually you know what?
19:32You can do it. It's the message that it did very well.
19:36And viewers say oh. You didn't get it. You can do it.
19:38You can do it. You can do it. You can do it.
19:39No. Okay. No. I would not. Like if you. It's like.
19:43No. No. No. No. If you can say good. You say good. If you can't say good.
19:49Say nothing. I love that.
19:51That is the problem. Probably that you should be way out of everything.
19:54Yeah. Yeah. He's just saying that you know like to your friends.
19:56Sometimes you have to be like a little different. It's different.
20:00And I think even I am like that. So. You know when a film comes out and they invite you for your.
20:06The teaser release or promo release. And they ask you how it was.
20:09Of course.
20:10And they ask you how it was.
20:11Of course.
20:12And at the end. They ask. They ask how was it. And I'm like.
20:18Awesome. Awesome.
20:20And you have been invited.
20:22You've been invited. So you can't like say yaar.
20:25You can't do that. Yeah.
20:27Never have I ever.
20:29Pretended to be fine with a smaller role or a lesser screen time.
20:34Have you pretended to be fine?
20:37Yeah.
20:39You have?
20:40Yeah.
20:41Please.
20:42Eat your humble pie.
20:44Like.
20:45Like.
20:46And I was so ashamed.
20:47At the screening.
20:48I was like.
20:49Yee kya kat diyo mani.
20:50But thik hai.
20:51Which project was it?
20:52We're gonna get to do later.
20:54It's okay.
20:55Yeah.
20:56I invite.
20:57I have seen the opening.
20:58Never have I ever.
21:00Taken credit.
21:01For a team effort.
21:02During promotions.
21:03Never.
21:04I think it's a team work.
21:05And I've been an AD.
21:06I've been an assistant director on D-Day.
21:07So I've seen.
21:08Oh D-Day the movie.
21:09Yeah.
21:10D-Day the movie.
21:11Yeah.
21:12D-Day the movie.
21:13Yeah.
21:14D-Day the movie with Rishi sir.
21:15Yeah.
21:16And Ifan sir.
21:17And.
21:18It was a beautiful movie.
21:19And I've seen yaar.
21:20Everyone works so hard.
21:21Everyone like.
21:22I was in the.
21:23Action department.
21:24And like.
21:25Everyone costume is running.
21:26You know.
21:27Like all the ADs are running.
21:28They're getting yelled at.
21:29So.
21:30A film set.
21:31I don't.
21:32The light men.
21:33They're all up.
21:34You know.
21:35You know.
21:36Like all the ADs are running.
21:37They're getting yelled at.
21:38So.
21:39A film set.
21:40All up.
21:41You know.
21:42I mean.
21:43I just feel.
21:44They don't get enough credits yaar.
21:45Yeah.
21:46Like it's hum.
21:47It's not just me.
21:48And him.
21:49And like the actors.
21:50And other people also.
21:51Always.
21:52Yeah.
21:53Always Krishna.
21:54Always.
21:55My team works so hard.
21:56And everyone's.
21:57No but then.
21:58You don't have to take a shot.
21:59Because you never like.
22:00Have done that.
22:01Right.
22:02You've never taken solo credit.
22:03Right.
22:04I take solo credit.
22:05Because.
22:06My team works.
22:07So you're saying that.
22:08You take credit for other people so hard.
22:09You're saying that.
22:10You're saying that.
22:11I'm the only one.
22:12I'm the only one.
22:13Actually seriously.
22:14I'm saying that.
22:15Any director.
22:16Any producer.
22:17Get the credit.
22:18Like I'm getting that credit of the director.
22:19But we team work so hard for.
22:20All that.
22:21Of course.
22:22Then you can't.
22:23Say that.
22:24It's just your work.
22:25Your team didn't do anything.
22:26What.
22:27Okay.
22:28If I say.
22:29If I say.
22:30If I say.
22:31If I say.
22:32If I say.
22:33Oh.
22:34Yeah.
22:35Yeah.
22:36Yeah.
22:37Yeah.
22:38Yeah.
22:39Yeah.
22:40Yeah.
22:41Yeah.
22:42Yeah.
22:43Yeah.
22:44Yeah.
22:45Yeah.
22:46Yeah.
22:47Yeah.
22:48Yeah.
22:49Yeah.
22:50So you've not done that right?
22:51Yeah.
22:52That's very wrong.
22:53Yeah.
22:54No, no. If the project is good, the project should prevail.
22:58Never have I ever cried after being rejected for a dream role.
23:05No, I didn't have a dream role yet.
23:07So, is it not a dream role, but something that you really wanted and you got rejected for that?
23:14No. I manifested, I got a call that, you know, there's an ad with Rin Veer Singh and I just jumped in.
23:22I was like, all right, I'll give an audition.
23:25And I think after that, once they said, you're shortlisted, I was seeing Rin Veer Singh everywhere.
23:31On weddings, I'm on the radio, I'm listening to Rin Veer Singh, Rin Veer Singh, Rin Veer Singh.
23:37And they were like, you're selected. And I'm like, manifestation.
23:42Manifestation works.
23:44Okay. Never have I ever made a close friend during a shoot or a professional kind of work
23:51and then completely lost touch later.
23:54Yeah, I'm very bad at like keeping contacts. Like, I'm really bad.
24:00See, on the sets now, when you shoot outdoor in remote areas, so many people come, they serve you food,
24:08you know, local food and you become friends, but later on, you're not in touch.
24:13No, I think even films also like, you know, like I'm just somebody who's like, I used to be very social,
24:20but now I just feel like I've become very anti-social and like, if I want to go out, I'll go out.
24:25Otherwise, I love being, I'm a homebody now. So like, you know, it's very,
24:29very, my friends are like, you know, only when you work, you're working.
24:34So they have to write.
24:34What did you just say? What did you just say?
24:36They say, they say, they call it.
24:37When you work, you're working.
24:38Before you work, before you work.
24:39Yeah.
24:39Before you work, did you just say your nickname?
24:41No.
24:42No, I said only.
24:43Only, you know, when they say that you're working, you'll be able to phone.
24:47Otherwise, so I'm like, you guys text me. It's urgent.
24:51So if I get that message, then I'll pick up.
24:54Okay. Never have I ever faked being unavailable to dodge a conversation.
25:02As in?
25:03A collaboration, a project or anything of that sort.
25:06Like, have you ever faked, oh, listen, I'm really unavailable. My dates are not there.
25:11So I won't be able to do it.
25:12Of course.
25:15No, no, no. Actually, guys, whoever I've,
25:19sometimes we all have to do it.
25:21You have to do it, right?
25:23Okay, last one, okay?
25:24Never have I ever loved the way I looked on screen and then watched that shot 10 times.
25:31Oh.
25:34Have you?
25:35Have you?
25:36Every time. I actually watch my movie now.
25:38There's so many empty glasses and I see most of them that side.
25:42So you guys, well played. Thank you.
25:45Can you have a round of applause please?
25:46Karshma, you're the right thing.
25:48So are you.
25:48Okay, for the next round, it's going to be a very fun game.
25:55It's called Rapid Fire, but what's the title of your movie?
26:01Light Camera Lies.
26:02Yeah, so it's called Rapid Fire Lies.
26:04So in this round, like I said, it's going to be Rapid Fire, but with a twist because your movie is all about
26:10lies and exposing lies, so this is called Rapid Fire Lies.
26:14Now I'm going to explain to you what it is exactly.
26:16You have to whatever question I ask you, okay?
26:20You have to lie.
26:22The answer has to be a lie.
26:23It can't be the truth, okay?
26:25Okay.
26:26And I have to catch whether it's a lie or the truth.
26:31So I'm basically the judge.
26:32But if you have to lie, then it means...
26:36Mala, you have to lie and I have to say, like it's up to me to decide whether it's an authentic lie or you're actually being bad.
26:43Or you're being diplomatic about it.
26:45Okay.
26:46Okay.
26:46Okay.
26:46Yeah?
26:47I don't have to lie, but I'm going to try it.
26:49Okay.
26:50So I get to be the judge of it.
26:52And house rules, like you can't name each other.
26:55Whoever's present here, you can't name anybody from here, okay?
26:58You can't name, ask anybody from here, okay?
27:00Okay.
27:01Okay.
27:01Okay, first question to Karshma.
27:06What's one thing you pretend to enjoy in the industry, but you actually don't?
27:11What's the truth?
27:13Yes, Hazuri Ganna.
27:15No, that is true.
27:16Sorry.
27:17I was about to say, listen, that's the truth.
27:21I was about to catch your lie.
27:23Okay.
27:23No, I'll say something I don't like.
27:28It's a lie.
27:32That's difficult.
27:33I don't want to be honest with you.
27:34I don't want to be honest with you.
27:36I don't want to be honest with you.
27:38But okay.
27:38No?
27:39Um, going to industry parties?
27:43I think?
27:44Events?
27:46Yeah, going to, going to events.
27:48You love that.
27:52That's the total lie?
27:53I love that.
27:56Okay.
27:57Who's one actor,
27:58who's praise for you didn't ever feel genuine?
28:03Who's praise?
28:04who's praised you and that praise to you didn't feel genuine at all. You have to lie or you
28:12can speak the truth. I can guess which one it is. Who? No, I have to guess no? No, you're
28:20saying I have to tell you a name of an actor who's praised you, who said oh my god, you're
28:25so good and they don't mean it. No, they don't mean that. I can't name ya. So, I mean lie
28:33about it. Yeah, Amir Khan said. What did he say to you, Gershwar? He said you should
28:42do a film together and I'm a Capricorn. He's also a Capricorn. He's like, we work together.
28:49You know, I'm going to do a good acting. That's my best date right there. And Shahrukh
28:57sir also. No, no, Shahrukh sir actually has told me a lot of times, a lot of times.
29:04What can I do, Karisha? We should do it together. But she resolves. A lot. Much resolves. So,
29:10we'll manifest it. Yes. Right? Yeah. What's one film or series that everyone has loved but
29:16you did not like it. I can name this for myself. Emeline Paris? Huh? Emeline Paris.
29:23Emeline Paris. Emeline Paris. I think that's a lie. I think that's a lie. I think that's
29:29a lie. Because I think you really liked it. Did you? I liked it. You liked it na? Haa.
29:35I'm very bad at this. Guys, I can't lie but I'm a good actor. Okay. Okay. See you. Okay.
29:47Have you ever liked someone else's post just so they notice you on Instagram? Yeah, I wish
29:55they will notice. I've liked a lot of this person's. No, I haven't actually. No, never.
30:05That's a lie right there. That's a lie right there. That's because I know you liked somebody's
30:09post just so that they would notice you. I wish they would notice ya but you know it's
30:15like. Yeah. So to you, name one time you totally bluffed your way through a technical question
30:23on set. That someone asked you, sir, how much exposure you want to do this camera? And
30:29you didn't know it. Always. That's the truth, right? That's the truth. But how? How? How?
30:38That's the truth. That's a lie, no? That's a lie. Of course he knows. You know. Maybe not.
30:42He's a director. I need to know that. I'm just asking like, you know, I'm not saying just
30:48regarding the camera or anything. I'm just like, I'm just like, no, I think the director
30:54would know everything. No, I think the director would know everything.
30:57Okay. You like, always prep. Yeah. A director. So that's the lie.
31:00So that's the lie. We have to, you know, we have to ask for lights.
31:07Counting lights. Like, aperture, like, power. So you know, it's all right.
31:14It's all right. It's all right. It's all right. It's all right. It's all right.
31:17So you know, there's light on the source. You don't have to get lights.
31:19So if we talk about exposure, extra lights, or lens, if it's passed,
31:23like, 1 to 5, 15. Let's say, we can show you at night at night.
31:27It's all right. That's amazing.
31:29We can show you. We can show you. We can show you.
31:31We can show you. We can show you.
31:33Okay. Which actor's Instagram captions makes you go, seriously?
31:40I have to lie, no?
31:42No, you can speak the truth of the Karishma. I can guess it.
31:45I don't stalk people so much that I see their captions and all.
31:55But someone's social media I really enjoy and I like and I feel it's like really authentic and real is Aaliyah Bhattu.
32:05That's the truth.
32:06Yeah, that's the truth. You said to tell me the truth.
32:09She is Aaliyah again as well.
32:11No, I have to guess it. No, so I feel you're speaking the truth.
32:13Yeah, I love Aaliyah's content.
32:15Instagram.
32:16But you have to tell a lie, no?
32:17No, no, it's up to her.
32:19But she's so, so pure, no?
32:22Pure and quiet.
32:24Okay.
32:26Have you ever faked confidence when you were walking in a room full of everybody in the industry?
32:36Like in that room, everybody was there. The who's who.
32:39Have you ever faked confidence?
32:41No.
32:42No.
32:43No, if you have.
32:44No.
32:45Fake it till you make it, baby.
32:48I think everybody does that, you know?
32:50All fair, yes.
32:51Like when we came to the interview, we just like we had a coffee and we were talking about a personal life or whatever.
33:03To be very comfortable about the ambience, everything.
33:06Yeah.
33:07If you enter somewhere where you don't know anyone, then they both face.
33:11Of course.
33:12You have to be faked.
33:13Fake it.
33:14You have two, three packs or whatever.
33:15And we were like, okay.
33:16Okay.
33:17Okay.
33:18Okay.
33:19Okay.
33:20Now, what's the trend or styling choice you followed just to stay relevant?
33:23Any trend or any styling?
33:24Not just related to clothes.
33:25Styling of course is related to clothes.
33:26Styling.
33:27Oh, that's a lie.
33:28Definitely that's a lie, Karishma.
33:29I can read your face.
33:30But did she say?
33:31I mean, yeah.
33:32Sorry.
33:33No, I really like her as a person.
33:34I feel like, you know, I never seen her.
33:35I've seen her.
33:36I never seen her.
33:37Okay.
33:38Okay.
33:39Okay.
33:40Okay.
33:41Okay.
33:42Okay.
33:43Okay.
33:44Okay.
33:45Okay.
33:46Okay.
33:47Okay.
33:48Okay.
33:49Okay.
33:50Okay.
33:51Okay.
33:52Okay.
33:53Okay.
33:54Okay.
33:55Okay.
33:56Okay.
33:57Okay.
33:58So, you know, I never knew.
33:59She's very authentic.
34:00See, I didn't know her story.
34:03So, initially I was like, why is she doing all of this?
34:07And the sense of styling is not something I enjoyed.
34:11But, you know, when I got to know her, I heard her speak and everything.
34:16I was like, this girl can speak.
34:18She can actually.
34:19And how?
34:20And how?
34:21And she's so...
34:22She's bold.
34:23She is bold.
34:24She's blunt.
34:25And she's blunt.
34:26And she's gone through so much.
34:27Like, you know, people have...
34:29You know, she's brave.
34:30She's so brave.
34:31Yeah.
34:32But yeah, I don't like her style.
34:34I mean, if you ask me.
34:36Yeah.
34:37But otherwise, I feel like, you know, the more I got to know her, I feel like, you know,
34:42wow.
34:43Like, she really did well for us.
34:44Can I tell you one thing?
34:45Yeah.
34:46Like, I would like to give my two cents to it.
34:47Earlier when Urfi Javi had come, like, straight out of the big boss house and the whole thing.
34:52She was formed at airports and everything.
34:54And everybody wondered, like, who is this girl?
34:57Why is she doing so much here and everything?
34:59And like that, I also misjudged her.
35:01But like you, when I saw her speak and then I got to know the story.
35:05And when I got to know, oh my God, this girl is so creative.
35:07She can make a dress out of anything.
35:09Exactly.
35:10She can make a dress out of matchsticks, spoons, anything.
35:13And has the confidence in doing.
35:15It's not about exposing for her.
35:17Everyone has their own way.
35:18Yeah.
35:19But yeah, I mean, you asked me who.
35:20So, I just said that would not be my approach.
35:22Yeah, 100%.
35:23Yeah.
35:24Everybody has the right to their opinion.
35:26Yeah.
35:27But what I love, I just wanted to say that what I love about her.
35:29Is that, that it's not about just clothes, you know, Karishma.
35:32It's about the creativity that she puts in.
35:34Because I saw her reality show.
35:36That also was on Amazon Prime.
35:38Yeah.
35:39Follow Karlo, yaar.
35:40And I saw that how much effort it was to make a girl in one outfit.
35:43Yeah.
35:44And I was like, Manu, that's awful.
35:46That much brains that I had.
35:47I've not said that, yeah.
35:48And then she was in negative comments.
35:50And then she was in negative comments.
35:52Yeah.
35:53Exactly.
35:54The kind of negativity that she receives.
35:55Oh my God.
35:56That one thing I wrote.
35:57She's very strong.
35:58She's very headstrong.
35:59She's very headstrong.
36:00Very strong.
36:01And I love them about her.
36:02And I love them about her.
36:03Because now, no one has exposed her.
36:06Yeah.
36:07But she had been in there.
36:09Yeah.
36:10She's made her name now.
36:11Yeah.
36:12I mean, Anvir Singh spoke about her.
36:14But it's just that, for me, I'm like.
36:16Everybody knows Urfi Javeh.
36:17Everybody knows who Urfi is, you know.
36:19So, I mean, that's like a great issue.
36:20But I just feel like for me, I don't want to be, I don't want to be known just because,
36:25okay, I just, you know, created, you know, clothes and I'm out there on the street, you
36:31know, getting packed.
36:32No.
36:33I want to be known as an actor.
36:34Means clothes shouldn't be a parameter to judge a person.
36:37Yeah.
36:38I'm not judging her.
36:39I just, as you said, a trend I would not follow.
36:42Because something like that, I wouldn't follow that trend.
36:45I would be like, you know, I would be, want to be known for my acting.
36:52Not, you know, take that through.
36:54That's it.
36:55Okay.
36:56Okay.
36:57And it's fair, I feel.
36:58And 100%, that's your prerogative towards, you know, how you want to achieve pain.
37:01Yeah.
37:02And I don't judge her.
37:03I mean, she's probably more famous than me.
37:04People know her more than me.
37:05But that's her life.
37:06And you know, I mean, I respect that completely.
37:09It's just that I wouldn't do it.
37:10That's it.
37:11Okay.
37:12Do you ever lied about being busy to get out of a party or a meeting or a panel or a discussion
37:21or ever went into a discussion?
37:23No, never.
37:24Never.
37:25So you have.
37:28Always.
37:29Always, yeah.
37:30I'm a sly bouncer.
37:31I bounce slyly.
37:32I don't tell anyone.
37:33Bye bye.
37:34I don't tell anyone.
37:35Bye bye.
37:36I don't tell anyone.
37:37Bye bye.
37:38Bye bye.
37:39Bye bye.
37:40I'm like chup chap.
37:41Sly bounce.
37:42Okay.
37:43Kaisal, this comes for you.
37:44Who's one actor you admire professionally but can't vibe with personally?
37:47I can't.
37:48Sorry.

37:50And those, there are two male actors and they've been like opposite name.

38:04Perfect.
38:05Okay.
38:06Okay.

38:27I think this is the truth.
38:28No, he's saying, he's lying that I probably, because I don't take.
38:32She takes cold drinks.
38:33She takes cold drinks in an entity which an actress won't take.
38:39So, I'm talking about the truth.
