00:00now a lot of people are talking about that this could be because of the fdtl uh you know rules
00:05that took place but this happened well ahead of time two years ahead of time everybody knew that
00:11there would be two-phased implementation of the these rules then where did indigo go wrong when
00:17you talk about a company which holds a large market share a small uh you know cog in the wheel
00:25not functioning or misaligning has a larger snowballing consequence let me explain this to
00:35you okay just a couple of weeks ago if you remember airbus had some issue and a software
00:44update had to be done and air india elac software update had to be done air indigo did it but my
00:54question i'm not giving an answer my question to viewers who are watching you and you would that
01:00have not had any effect on the operation question number one okay in that there is a variable you
01:08know my business mathematics everything works on lot of variable and the biggest variable
01:17or biggest cog in the wheel in this entire system was that elac software upgrade or update now you
01:23know small h small hitch there your system should be able to absorb that shock absolutely valid
01:30question now in that there are two aspects to hosting from the time a girl or a boy finishes need
01:38joins the mbbs training to the time he or she comes out of as a full-fledged doctor is five years
01:46for a captain on an average is seven years six years if he's really he or she is really smart so it takes
01:55a while to uh and the captains don't i mean you don't you don't have ready-made captains available in
02:04india so you join as a first officer then you become a senior first officer gain experience then you do
02:13captain's training from the time you commence the captain's training to the time you finish the
02:17captain's training is anywhere between 10 months to one year once again we're not batting for anybody
02:23but let me tell you we live in a democratic country and our labor laws are very simple in
02:32as far as captains are concerned six months notice is what you give to the company and you can leave the
02:38company for greener pastures so i'll also connect uh you you know with another aspect which uh was
02:46raised which was about poaching the ceo of air india talked about poaching why did he mention about
02:55poaching or show i mean tell the italian quality with so much great concern is because many airlines in
03:04the world are expanding and expanding very rapidly and they are paying uh amounts which is like three
03:11times that of uh what a pilot gets in hand i'm talking about in hand all right in india we have
03:19large amount of taxes therefore what a pilot gets in hand is just two-thirds of what he earns
03:25as opposed to if he gets the same amount of money somewhere else it is that much money in his pocket and
03:31therefore they most of them leave india and go abroad nothing wrong in that the issue is that this
03:41is one variable that you cannot design it in your system to take that kind of a shock say 30 or 40 or
03:5150 or 100 pilots leave i'm not saying they left leave together then what happens to the company a
03:58company needs to run and the company is the backbone of indian aviation today because they are 65 share
04:04so i am i'm not at all playing the word devil's advocate is a wrong term to use i'm not at all
04:09playing that i'm i'm showing the world the mirror the fact how you want to interpret it how you want to
04:19take green you know intelligence out of the information you know intelligence out of the information
