00:00The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer dropped this week, which was very exciting.
00:04And then Anne Hathaway was like, yay, everybody should wear an outfit that
00:09Miranda Priestly would approve of, like, go to the theater dressed up like you did for Barbie.
00:12And I was like, yeah. Wait a minute. The last time I was at the theater,
00:18it was a miserable experience. And I was like, I'm not seeing movies in person anymore.
00:22I have seen some really insane behavior. What happened to movie theater etiquette, Nigel?
00:27Yeah, it's long gone. On my first date with my husband, we went to go see Black Swan.
00:32And the guy ahead of me was also on a date with his girlfriend. He brought out a cell phone,
00:36and I tapped his shoulder, and he was not pleased.
00:38What did you say, sir?
00:39I just said, sir, like, you're impeding my view of the movie. He looked like he wanted to start a fight.
00:46There's this chain called the Alamo Drafthouse. They have a rule whereby you can complain about
00:52somebody that's making noise or distracting you, and they will get a warning.
00:57Second warning, they're kicked out. Security will come, and they will remove this person.
01:03That's my dream. Wuthering Heights is also hitting theaters very soon on Valentine's Day.
01:07And I've been thinking about tiptoeing back into the theater for that.
01:11Margot Robbie said in an interview that she held a screening for her girlfriends of the movie,
01:16and that everyone screamed collectively every time that Jacob Elordi came on screen.
01:21So I could see, you know, audiences doing that.
01:24If we're all going to make going to the theater a group activity, which I do love,
01:31but what happens next? We sit down in our assigned seats. Love, love an assigned seat.
01:37And all of a sudden, you know, Stephanie over there is scrolling on Instagram.
01:41And then, you know, Lindsay's babysitter is texting her. And then this one brings out a bottle of wine.
01:48I've seen the bottle of wine happen. It was at a rather raucous screening of the Beyonce Renaissance documentary.
01:56But there was a woman who was yelling at the screen, clearly intoxicated.
02:01And she was accosting Jay-Z at every chance she could get. Like, you don't deserve her.
02:07Do you think everybody should have to sign some kind of form before they go, you know, like online?
02:11Like, I agree. Like, when you buy your tickets, it should be like, I won't talk. I won't text.
02:16I won't leave my trash. I'm not wearing pajamas. Or is that too much?
02:20You know the people wear their pajamas and slippers? Whose grandmother do I sound like right now?
02:25I don't think that a movie theater is your living room.
02:29Well, you shouldn't be going out of pajamas in public, period.
02:32I am looking for a call to wear your Valentino adjacent clothes or TJ Maxx of Valentino, whatever.
02:38As long as it's not obstructing, you know, I don't want a big headpiece, right, from the person in front of me.
02:46Then I can't see the screen.
02:47We need civility. We need etiquette. We need rules.
02:50I'm not seeing movies in the theater, Anne Hathaway.
02:53I will not be wearing Valentino to a theater until people can act like we should be wearing Valentino.
02:59In a theater.
