03:39this afternoon and hopefully hopefully once it's all said and done ladies you'll leave here feeling
03:45replenished recharged and full of self-love in a way that you've never done before all right are we here for
03:55now how many people are in the room or watching at home have attended essence wellness house before
04:01no one in the room yes okay absolutely and at home you you have you experienced essence wellness house
04:09well I have to tell you that today what are we doing it's all about self-love that's the theme
04:17love thyself okay so we have a whole stuff like Danielle said wellness experts medical professionals
04:24gurus influencers and more to help guide you through your it through your ass every aspect
04:31excuse me of your self-love journey inside out that's important we'll talk about what's holding
04:38us back from getting the love we want healing trauma that's a good one right building better
04:46relationships between food and our bodies that's another good one how to get our money right
04:53okay come on how to get our money right essence is yes how to get our money right maternal health
05:02fertility fibroids navigating relationships of every kind parenting and the social media era how to say
05:11no and set healthy boundaries that's another good one too y'all and so much more because at the end of
05:19the day all of these different topics represent an aspect of each of our lives and they all influence
05:26what self-love right and how it looks in our own personal lives we've got panels we've got workshops we've
05:35got workouts we've got 10 minute massages y'all know y'all need the massages all right guided meditation
05:41basically there's something for everyone at the essence wellness house but here's the thing we are in a
05:46social media era right and so we have to make sure what are we hashtagging essence wellness house in
05:53every picture you take because i see them flashes going now everybody at home essence wellness house
05:59there's a hydration station smart water all right y'all know i'm long-winded give me some words and i'm
06:06gonna say all of them okay without further ado she's an entrepreneur a host a television producer and a
06:13former editor for oh the oprah magazine to just name a few she's also the founder of morning mindset
06:21with ty and co-founder of brown girl jane which is an amazing product please welcome my sister my
06:28spellman sister ty bow shop yes oh my gosh thank you lovey absolutely always proud of you
06:39god morning it's sunday it's sunday so god morning you can't be up in a space with all of these
06:49beautiful black and brown people and not say god morning we're gonna recognize that i'm ty bow

07:00honor to be here with all of you what stacy forgot to say is that i'm also a former editor of essence
07:04magazine um having worked on suede uh when essence launched suede too many years ago to count so we're
07:11not going to count thank you very much how are you all feeling this morning how's your spirit
07:17do you have that spiritual check-in with yourself because you know when you walk around and you ask
07:23someone how they're doing we sometimes have this visceral response where it's just like we're good
07:30but you know one of the things that i learned in my um something years that's okay something years
07:38is that we have to check in with ourselves in a very very different way so check in with yourself
07:43right now that's what morning mindset is about how are you how is your spirit so ask yourself right now
07:49how your spirit is and then i want you to look to your partner and tell her how your spirit is
07:54in five short words okay so how is your spirit think about it reflect at home as you're thinking
07:59how is your spirit because we walk around we carry a lot of the things that we have had historically
08:04when we talk about trauma we talk about the hardship we talk about even the triumphs quite frankly we walk
08:11around with those but we don't really check in so ask yourself right now how's your spirit and i'm
08:14going to tell you how my spirit is my spirit is excited to be here in this space my spirit is
08:20renewed because i'm around my people and my sisters how is your spirit come here sis look we're gonna
08:27make it we're gonna make it communal first of all what's your name victorian mcpherson god morning
08:33everyone god morning everyone how is your spirit victoria i'm blessed i'm excited i love that so
08:39what i would love for you to do as we sit right now i'm going to be with you just for about 15
08:44minutes i want you to have that check-in with yourself and ask how your spirit is and then i
08:48want you to share and if you're at home watching alone you might use this time to actually sit down
08:53and journal a little bit and or text a friend text a friend text a sister friend text a family member
09:00and ask how their spirit is okay you have a minute and a half meet the sister next to you
09:05don't act like strangers
09:09sister who are you talking to come tell me how your spirit is
09:32yes you yes come tell me how your spirit is i want to hear how is your spirit
09:40why is your spirit grateful
09:44i love that i love that what's your name what's your name my love
09:54thank you all right we took that minute and a half and you see how when you take a moment and
10:03i do this throughout the day actually thank you for so much for participating miss von just shared
10:08with me her spirit is grateful and when you ask yourself how your spirit is you also have to then
10:14do a follow-up question i'm a former journalist so i got questions for you all day it's a follow-up
10:19question why is my spirit that way because sometimes you know we have these moments of just
10:25recognizing what we're feeling but we don't dip into and dive into why we're feeling that way
10:31and so miss von just shared with me that her spirit is grateful and i asked her why and she said my
10:36spirit is grateful because i'm going to meet someone today that i've met on social media a friend
10:41and i'm going to meet her for the first time so when we get clear you know when we get clear
10:47and and i must tell you unfortunately this has been a luxury that black and brown women didn't have
10:53access to you know we walk around we carry all the things and we say how you doing i'm fine sis but
10:58sometimes we're not fine most of the times and a lot of times we're not fine and so when we check in
11:04with our spirit we really understand and we're spiritual beings right so a little bit about me i started
11:10morning mindset with ty during the pandemic when all of us were feeling nuts right crazy stir crazy
11:16confused exhausted what's happening and i um decided to go on to ig had a very very modest following at
11:24the time and just share some inspirational words and we find inspiration in many different places
11:30but i realized that how you begin your day is half the win of the day so many of us go into our days
11:38you know feeling lackluster afraid you know unsure and uncertain but we never do that check-in
11:45right and so i said if i can be intentional about how i start my day every single day so my day and
11:52and i'm going to ask you to check in with yourself during these moments before we close out how i start
11:57my day prayer and meditation first in scripture that's how i affirm myself so the principles of morning
12:04mindset are very simple there are four key principles the first one is to affirm affirm who
12:09i am who i choose to be that day and who god called me to be all of us have a calling on our lives and
12:16whether or not you believe in jehovah jireh yahweh allah whatever it is or nothing we have a divine
12:24calling on our lives so i affirm myself every day and then i share that affirmation with others
12:31right because we can't just affirm ourselves our affirmations become something that other people
12:36live embody and experience so then after we affirm we move i live in los angeles california
12:42and when i tell you living in la has been so good for my body
12:46um so i said you know you have to move move physically move spiritually move emotionally
13:01so that way your affirmations actually have a place to travel
13:05right and then once they're traveling so it's a firm y'all with me what's the first one
13:10okay what's the second one no no no move move right because then we have to move then we connect
13:21we connect the dots of our affirmations and our movements with other people because what i also
13:26realize is that we're not on islands we don't live on islands this is community that's what we do
13:31especially black people and black women that's what we do so then we have to connect
13:36so how do you affirm yourself how do you move and then connect with others and lastly then we reset
13:42so by the end of the day we have to establish ourselves and ground ourselves in our full
13:47authority so it's a firm what we got move and then reset reset so those are the key pillars of
13:56morning mindset um as we set our intentions for this day we're going to do two things um as a group i
14:03have seven minutes and so i'm going to ask you all to be um as timely as possible i would love for four
14:10of you to get together four people ideally people that you don't know i know that you may have come
14:15here with your sister friend and that's great right now move like literally like right now and if
14:21you're at home watching us if you're at home watching us you can use this time actually
14:27very quickly we have five minutes
14:31very quick circles so i host something in los angeles every first saturday quietly quietly quietly
14:40quietly quietly quietly quietly quietly thank you just so that way you can hear the directions as well
14:47i host something in wait ladies ladies y'all not supposed to be talking yet i didn't give y'all no
14:52instructions listen you you give a black woman a space they're like we're gonna take it up i love
14:59it i absolutely love it so i host a monthly hike series in los angeles every first saturday of the
15:04month we have more than 155 women that travel from all over the world to hike with us and we've
15:10developed something very dynamic called sister circles during this hike experience and so what
15:14we're going to do right now is a mini sister and brother circle right we see you and we're here for
15:20you if you're at home take this time to actually reflect for yourself and take a journal in front
15:25of you and just connect with what we're saying so in this sister circle you have literally five
15:30minutes i'm not kidding my parents are teachers from newark y'all don't want none so what you're
15:39going to do in these five minutes you're going to share something that you need and something that you
15:43can offer because the other thing about community and black women is that we often show up
15:49depositing every single space we go to and that's great but we also have our needs right and so i
15:55want you to be clear about what you came here with to offer and what you want to take from this space
16:00when you leave okay so something that you're coming to this space you know needing desiring and also
16:07what you can deposit into this space and throughout the day my recommendation to you is to connect with
16:12four other people and share your need and also something you can offer okay because we never
16:18know who can support us in this thing all right y'all have four and a half minutes since i took so much
16:23time go if you're watching at home use this time to just really think and reflect to yourself
16:28about what your needs are and what you can give thank you

23:08a lot of decades. Understand that when you save your money, you spend your money right,
23:13you can always have a comfortable life. And this is Lonnie Love, and that's my gem.

23:20She's right. You have to make a budget. Stay consistent with the budget. If you want to stay
23:26on budget and stay on task. Financial literacy is very, very important. Like she said, it does
23:31not matter what type of life you want to live. If you get financially stable, you can live
23:36any life you want. Live life to the fullest and make sure you have enough money to do it.
