00:00How the Epstein Files Prompted a Swarm of AI Photos of US and European Politicians
00:10Were you fooled by AI-generated photos of the Epstein Files?
00:14The US Justice Department has released more than 3 million pages of files
00:18related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
00:21Across social media, mounting speculation and unanswered questions
00:25around Epstein's activities have opened the door to disinformation about the rich and powerful across the globe.
00:32Images such as this one allegedly showing New York Mayor Zoran Mamdani
00:36alongside his mother Mira Nair, Gisle Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos
00:43have spread across the internet.
00:45But off the back of inconsistencies in these photos,
00:48we decided to run the image through Google Gemini, which detected a synth ID.
00:52This invisible watermark was developed by Google to identify AI content generated with its tools.
00:59Mamdani's name is mentioned in the files five times,
01:02all connected to newspaper clippings rather than any potential wrongdoing.
01:06These images began to emerge after Mamdani's mother, Mira Nair, was mentioned in the Epstein Files
01:12in relation to an afterparty for her film Amelia,
01:15which was hosted at Gisle Maxwell's New York townhouse in 2009.
01:19The messages indicate Epstein did not attend the screening.
01:22Another fake image of Epstein with his arms around Rathome UK leader Nigel Farage spread across social media.
01:29It was even shared by a local branch of the UK's governing Labour Party.
01:33When we put the image through AI generators, they were unable to give a conclusive response.
01:38But in the millions of files, there is also no evidence that Farage and Epstein directly corresponded or met.
01:44And on closer look, the lighting of the image appears illogical.
01:48Labour has also since deleted the photo after realising it was AI generated.
01:53Rathome UK leader literally introduced Safari byania and are therefore thinking of having her origins.
01:57This is a case of pressing radio in the UK.
01:58So, we are ready to create an alignment in the UK.
02:00We will be able to create an alignment in the UK that the American language will tell you we think,
02:03we will be able to keep an alignment in the UK.
