00:00all right kelly we are so excited to hear more about your business and your product
00:15now whenever you are ready you can go ahead and start your pitch perfect thank you hi i'm kelly
00:23and i'm the owner designer and founder of pretty placed either our story is simple it started off
00:29with one mission in mind to find a natural modern and handmade teether for my little guy something
00:35that was safe and functional and fit my modern and minimalist style seems simple right except it
00:42was harder than i expected i ran into that same traditional bright bold plastic design every time
00:48so while being pregnant with my youngest on bed rest and suffering from hg a severe morning sickness
00:55and too much spare time on my hand i decided if i couldn't find what i wanted elsewhere
01:00i was going to make it so since then pretty pleased either has been has seen a consistent demand
01:07with our natural modern and minimalist products something that the babies will enjoy and that
01:13we the modern parents will love we have been fulfilling this gap of baby silicone baby teething
01:19products by designing and handcrafting these products right here in utah where we make 95 percent of our
01:26products by hand by local moms and dad within our community and where we sell direct to can 70
01:33percent direct to consumer and 30 percent to stores to 300 stores throughout the u.s and canada
01:39and soon to three large retail big box stores all while maintaining an affordable price point
01:45of 15 to 28 dollars babies deserve the best and from our eco-friendly and silicone teethers to our
01:54organic teething lovies ppt goes above and beyond to make sure that we're providing high quality
01:59non-toxic and eco-conscious materials that is not only safe for your little one but for the environment
02:05but we don't stop there ppt's products are are safety tested before launching to make sure that they are
02:13functional and safe while ppt has been self-funded to date we're looking to raise funds that would go
02:20towards marketing hiring in our retail expansion however our main focus being hiring local makers
02:28to keep up with demand all while working all while working safely from home during this pandemic
02:34since january we have seen a consistent increase in ourselves and we are up 244 from last year
02:40with a 19 returning customer rate and an average order value of 43 dollars our mission at pretty
02:47please see there is to provide you and your teething little some much needed teething relief
02:51while keeping a natural modern and minimalist style with our handmade items
02:56we plan to continue this growth in this 12.75 billion dollar market by creating new and exciting
03:02uh teething products that will keep our customers engaged and us ahead of their competitors thank you
03:11all right thank you so much kelly we are going to head into some q a now so i'm up first talk to me a
03:22little bit more about this this supply chain production it sounds like you're using parents you're using
03:31parents i am to make it tell me more about that oh and how that works yeah it actually well i started
03:38making majority of my products right on my kitchen table and i soon i actually had a customer reach
03:43out to help so i found that there was a love not only from my customers to buy the product but also to
03:51help grow the business so from there i have reached out to local um mom and dads who then will take our
03:59products like our beads behind us and they will make the products from home um and then return it back
04:06to me where i safety check them to make sure that they're up to standards before heading into um processing
04:15okay awesome my questions are about your marketing what are your plans for future marketing of your product
04:22absolutely so right now we have done only about four thousand dollars worth of marketing um it has
04:30honestly been something that kind of terrifies me so i would like to partner with a marketing team
04:36that will help me continue to grow with our demand um in a more strategic matter instead of me just
04:42throwing out an email um who are your competitors
04:48right now we have competitors like ryan rose mushy and getting so crafty where they sell
04:55silicone teethers and passy clips most of their products are focused on the pacifier aspect while
05:01we focus on the teething aspect and making silicone teethers and we also are branching out to stay with
05:08those competitors by launching our modern pacifier which is the first design of a two-tone pacifier
05:15that's all silicone are teethers more expensive than pacifiers uh yes and no um so right now in our
05:28in our shop teethers are more expensive um depending on the design so we have more handcrafted designs
05:34that um go have more time into it so these are more expensive compared to say just a teething rattle
05:41but our pacifier clips are part of the lower demand which is more cost efficient for everyone
05:47and do you train uh do you train the moms and dads who are helping you make the stuff on how to make it
05:53to ensure that your process isn't that burdensome absolutely so there is a full week of training to
06:00make sure that they can get the full um between our safety knots that we do to the correct safety task
06:06testing standards that was um approved by the testing labs to make sure it stays in that demand
06:12so there's a full week of training and then they also whenever they come back we inspect it and if
06:17anything is out with of that training um aspect that it was supposed to be we um give them the feedback
06:24so that way they can correct it in the future so that way we retain our high quality
06:28so um how uh how much will you be able to grow leveraging that very creative and efficient uh way
06:39to manufacture or to make your product um before you have to sort of do something that is uh that
06:44that is not as complicated yeah i think we can actually grow quite a bit um and it just depends on
06:52how many more parents are um that we get involved into it to say um so i can easily have one parent
07:00per design making the products right now and then if that product demand is increasing i can add two
07:05parents to make those products in order to keep up with demand and all while keeping an affordable um
07:12price points with them too because right now our um market uh price is between 75 to 98 markup
07:20and that's what we're going to do with them gotcha so unless there are any other questions first uh you
07:26did phenomenally well so no need for errors uh uh you explained uh you you explained your why incredibly
07:35well and uh and congrats on um what is clearly a lot of success that you've been able to fund uh
07:40you know on your own and based on you know and based on the business's performance thus far
07:45that's uh uh that's a big accomplishment and you should be proud of it personally thank you
07:50um my my kids are both teenagers now but um there was a green pacifier that they both happened to
07:56just you know not be able to do without uh and we took that all over the world with us because
08:04meant that all of us all of us could be sane so um yeah so i look so so look you know i think what
08:10you're what you're doing is fantastic uh congratulations on the ambition congratulations on the creativity and
08:15good luck thank you thank you so much
08:25you
