00:00Remember the really dark Thundercats comic book series I told you about a few days ago?
00:12Thundercats The Return was about this depressing time in Thundera when Lion-O went to train in
00:17the Book of Omens and Mum-Ra had trapped him inside. Lion-O re-emerged five years later,
00:24not knowing so much time had passed, and saw the Thundercats enslaved by Mum-Ra,
00:28the new ruler of Thundera. Though Lion-O manages to set things right again, a lot of damage happens
00:35under Mum-Ra. A major side effect of Mum-Ra's rule was that Wily-Cat had convinced himself that his
00:41friends would not win against him and chose to betray the Thundercats. Instead of his freedom
00:46like Mum-Ra had promised, Mum-Ra had shoved him into his cauldron and he was assumed dead. He was
00:53not actually dead though, and Mum-Ra hoped to use him as a pawn. There is a sequel to this crazy
00:59story and it is set a whole decade later. I got my hands on it and have read it cover to cover,
01:06so hold on to your seats as I am going to tell you all about Thundercats, Dogs of War.
01:12Fifteen years after the events of Thundercats The Return, Wily-Cat lives on the outskirts of Thundera
01:18when he sees a huge thing fall from the sky, covered in blue flames. Two dogs walk out of
01:24the crash site, which is covered in rising dust. One of the dogs addresses the other as commander
01:29and asks why they are not striking immediately as their military is superior, but the commander
01:34shuts him down immediately, telling him that thinking's not a part of his job description,
01:39and he has to obey the alpha. He then adds that their master wanted to check out the creatures to
01:44see if they have any fight in them. If they do, they would be enslaved, and if they don't,
01:48they would be part of the cuisine. These humanoid dogs ride velociraptor-like creatures too,
01:53and the commander, seated on one of them, commands his soldier to kill anything that moves
01:58and mark their territory with blood, as New Thundera now belonged to the war dogs.
02:03Wily-Cat watches this all with some amusement as he is sure that the Thundercats would send the dogs
02:08away with their tails tucked between their legs. As the dust starts to clear, he sees the massive ship of
02:14the war dogs, their numerous technologically advanced tanks, and clearly superior military
02:19force. This makes him rethink the whole situation. Meanwhile, in the royal palace of New Thundera,
02:25two kittens try to pilot Wily-Cat's hoverboard, despite their fears of getting caught and punished
02:30for it. They manage to get the surfboard to levitate, but like all siblings, begin fighting.
02:35Their fight and indecision propels the hoverboard right into the throne room, where they crash into
02:39a bunch of vases. The two get up, groaning about their numerous injuries, but they don't let a
02:44sprain or two stop them, and decide to take another go at it. One of them suggests stealing the other
02:50hoverboard, when suddenly Wily-Cat's arrival stops their scheming. Wily-Cat starts screaming at them
02:55as Panthro and Snarf arrive. Panthro has no sympathy for her, as he has no idea why she agreed to babysit the
03:02kittens in the first place. Wily-Cat continues her scolding, threatening worse punishment if they wake the
03:08king from his sleep. It's a bit too late for that as Lion-O strides in, assuring Wily-Kit that he could
03:13sleep when he is dead. Lion-O is not looking like himself. The past fifteen years have really taken
03:19their toll on him, as he looks about a hundred. His face is full of wrinkles, and his hair has gone
03:24white. Wily-Kit apologizes for the kittens, and Lion-O has no trouble forgiving them, as he still
03:29remembered the Thunder Kittens that used to love getting into trouble. He gives the two kittens, named
03:34Wily-Cat, a royal pardon, and asks them to take it easy on their babysitter. As Wily-Kit leads the
03:41kittens away, still reading them the riot act, Lion-O turns to his trusted royal advisors, and asks
03:47them to meet him in the balcony, as he has an important thing to discuss. In the balcony, Lion-O
03:52reminisces about building new Thundera, and how they did a good job putting their world back together.
03:58He has also been feeling that his end is near, so he wants to step down from the throne.
04:02Snarf and Panthro are shocked to hear it, and Snarf grabs his hand, asking if he's serious. Lion-O is
04:08as serious as could be. He had fought his battles, vanquished all his enemies, from Mumra to the
04:13Lunataks, and established a utopia for his people. He saw no point in continuing to rule. So he tells
04:20Snarf that the next day, he would announce his retirement, and name his successor. As Lion-O walks
04:26away to rest, Snarf reveals that he knew it to be a remote possibility, as Lion-O has been aging so
04:32swiftly. Snarf's theory is that his body is confused after being trapped in the Book of Omens for so
04:37long, and is trying to compensate by speeding the aging process. Snarf blames himself for allowing
04:43Lion-O's training for five years, but Panthro reminds him that Lion-O would give his life over
04:48and over again for the well-being of his people. As they look out at the sky, Panthro mistakes a landing
04:54dog spaceship to be a falling star and wonders if that means their luck is about to change. Snarf adds that
05:00they must be having the luckiest day, as it's the third falling star he had seen. In the courtyard,
05:05Wily-Cat asks the guard to be let in to see Lion-O. The guard understandably refuses to let the dirty
05:12mongrel-looking Wily-Cat in, and tells him that Lion-O's health does not permit him to take visitors,
05:17especially at night. Wily-Cat insists that it's an emergency, but the guard comments that he needs to
05:23take a bath, as he looks like he's been holed up in a cave for the last fifteen years in the Badlands,
05:28eating nothing but bugs and lizards. Wily-Cat is surprised that a random guard managed to nail
05:34exactly what he was up to in the past few years, but continues to ask whether there is any chance
05:39he would be let in to see the king. The guard tells him that if he went home, cleaned himself well,
05:44and returned tomorrow morning, he would allow him to meet the royal advisors and petition for an
05:49audience with his majesty. Even Thundera has to deal with this bureaucracy BS. The voice of his sister
05:55yelling Wily-Cat distracts him, and as he turns to look at her, busy disciplining the wayward kitten
06:00for running through the garden, and threatening to tie his tail to his brothers if he doesn't listen.
06:05The guard tells Wily-Cat that the Thunder Kittens were a couple of little Hellcats, and one of them,
06:10Wily-Cat, was named after a member of the Thundercats who had died in the battle against Mum-Ra.
06:16The guard goes on to say that he's head over heels in love with the beautiful Wily-Cat,
06:20and he had only taken the job hoping it would lead to a conversation with her. Unfortunately,
06:25he has not been able to work up the nerve yet. He continues to say that he had joined the army too,
06:30as he is a fan of the Thundercats. While the guard went on this rant about his life, Wily-Cat slips
06:36away and breaks into the palace. He notices all the changes around him and wonders out loud that it
06:41might have been a bad idea to come there. Chitara intercepts him immediately and, not recognizing him,
06:47attacks him with her bow staff. She demands to know who sent the traitor to kill them when Tigra
06:52joins the fight. Wily-Cat explains that he might have been a traitor, but he is not a killer,
06:57and that he has spent the last 15 years trying to make amends. Tigra listens to him and pauses
07:02the fight, but Chitara traps him with her staff. Tigra stops her too, and grabbing the intruder's face,
07:08realizes it is Wily-Cat. They are both shocked to see him alive, but Wily-Cat wishes he was dead,
07:13as he had betrayed everyone he loved. Tigra is ready to forgive him, as he knew all the ordeals
07:19they went through under Mumra's rule, and reminds him that they all got through it together. A loud
07:24boom interrupts the reunion, and Wily-Cat remembers that he's there to warn them about the upcoming
07:29danger. Chitara, who has the ability to see in the future, had also been seeing visions of an impending
07:35doom, and as she looks out the window, her worst fears are confirmed. The city has been completely
07:40destroyed by the dogs and their army. Desperate times, desperate measures. No part of New Thundera
07:46is spared in the rampage of the dogs. The capital city, outlying settlements, and underground are all
07:52targeted. Doberlord, the supreme alpha of the war dogs, watches on from his war room from the flying
07:58Doberliner. One of his soldiers reads out a surrender message from Thundera. This surprises and
08:03disappoints Doberlord, as he had been expecting more of a fight from the Thundercats. His soldier clarifies
08:09that the message is from Burbles, a different race of settlers in Thundera, and shows them on screen.
08:14Imagine teddy bears wearing armors. That is what Burbles look like. As they were too small to be
08:19slaves and too metallic to be food, Doberlord asks his soldier to release the Lizarians onto them.
08:26The soldier isn't sure that's a good idea, as morale is low in the war dogs, and giving their army the
08:30choice to do whatever they wanted with the Burbles would have been better. But Doberlord explains that the
08:35morale of the Lizarians would get worse, and they needed a reminder of their decision to choose to
08:40serve Doberlord instead of becoming Kibble. As the Lizarian warriors are unleashed on these teddy bear-esque
08:47creatures, one of them hands out a hibiscus to ask for peace. The Lizarians start their rampage anyway
08:53and slaughter the Burbles, while Doberlord enjoys the show from up above. The soldier in the war room,
08:59however, is clawed to death by Lady Diablador, Doberlord's wife by the looks of it, as punishment
09:05for daring to question the orders of the Supreme Alpha. She then tells off Doberlord for not consulting
09:10her before all the Burbles were destroyed, as she would have loved a Burble. I will be honest,
09:16I would love a Burble too, they look super cute. Doberlord consoles her, promising a souvenir before
09:21their invasion on Thundera is over, and tells her that cats make good pets. I will scream if any of the
09:27Thundercats are enslaved again. I had enough of it in Thundercats The Return. In the courtyard of the
09:33palace, the dog general and a few of his soldiers hold guard as they were strictly ordered to leave
09:38the palace alone and make sure to allow nobody in or out. The dogs can't help but speculate on what
09:44way would be better to eat a cat, make a stew out of them, or stick them in a soup. Close to them,
09:49Wilykit hides with Wilycub and Wilycat, but the dogs catch their scent. The general grabs the kittens,
09:55declaring that they were fair game as they were not in the palace, and Wilykit, being the best
10:00babysitter ever, attacks. The soldiers retort that Wilykit would not survive for long as she's
10:05outnumbered when suddenly, the guard, the same guy who was talking to Wilycat moments ago, jumps into
10:11her defense. Wilykit is not happy about the assist, but the two fight them off and the kittens throw
10:17stones at the intruders. Within seconds, reinforcements arrive and the four book it inside the palace,
10:23realizing they would never win a battle where they are so outnumbered. Tigra greets the kittens
10:27with a hug and thanks Wilykit for keeping them safe. Wilykit asks the guard who helped her,
10:32and seeing his opening, the guard introduces himself by holding her hands. I kid you not,
10:38he is named Mobcat. I've never met someone who matches their name so well. Meanwhile, Lion-O is
10:43briefed over video transmission by Governor Pumira, who tells him about the devastating condition of their
10:48kingdom. The dogs had overrun the Thundrillium mines and their remote outposts and settlements
10:53had all been destroyed. Some had been killed, others injured, while a vast majority had been
10:58imprisoned. Pumira is helpless against the situation as she tells Lion-O that they are not capable of
11:04defeating the creatures as they have no intel about their strengths, weapons, and how many they were
11:09fighting against. Pumira also notes that Lion-O looks disheveled and ill. When she brings attention to
11:15that, Lion-O basically asks her whether he is supposed to look like a supermodel while his
11:20kingdom is under attack. Not his exact words, but the sentiment is the same. Pumira's transmission is
11:26overridden by Doberlord who introduces himself and calls him their new king. He gives them 24 hours to
11:32prepare for their surrender and threatens to wipe them off the map if they don't comply. He ominously
11:37points out that the Thundarians have only seen the bark of the war dogs and they would regret seeing
11:42them bite. Lion-O can't believe that his kingdom is on the verge of collapse and tells Panthro
11:47that Thundercats never give up, but the other option they have seems abhorrent. Outside,
11:52he meets Wilykit and Wilycat, crying from the joy of reunion and is shocked to see Wilycat alive.
11:59He hugs Wilycat as he rambles off an apology for the betrayal. Lion-O calls him a fool for avoiding
12:04them for 15 years and tells him that he's of course forgiven. Lion-O then addresses the Thundercats,
12:10telling them that there's only one thing they could do to defeat the war dogs. Suddenly,
12:15Snarf arrives with the unlikely ally Lion-O has chosen, Mum-Ra. Of course there's betrayal.
12:22For the sake of the future of the planet, Lion-O shakes hands with Mum-Ra in a new spirit of
12:27cooperation. Nobody's on board with the plan as they had spent nearly their entire lives fighting
12:32against Mum-Ra and now suddenly they were supposed to work alongside him. They don't trust him and believe
12:38they will regret the decision soon. Even Mum-Ra's mutant cronies think Lion-O has gone senile from old
12:44age. Vulture-Man cannot bring himself to participate in an alliance with people who locked him away for a
12:50decade and Chitara reminds him that prison is a better fate compared to the way the Thundarians
12:55were treated under Mum-Ra's rule. Their fight rages on till Lion-O intervenes, asking them all to
13:01shut up. Lion-O offers Vulture-Man a chance to fight him right then and there, offering him the chance to
13:07lead the Thundercats if he manages to defeat him. Vulture-Man, instead of using his words, answers
13:12with a punch. Slithe and Monkeon join in and the three initially put up a good fight against Lion-O,
13:18but then start arguing amongst themselves on who would be the best leader. This gives Lion the easy
13:23edge and he knocks them all out, telling them that their selfishness is the reason they lost and will
13:28keep losing. In the spirit of new beginnings, Lion-O promises to send Vulture-Man and his mutant back to
13:34Plundar if they agree to help him get rid of the War Dogs. The mutants agree immediately, desperate to
13:41go back home. Seeing the happy alliance happening in front of his eyes, Mum-Ra asks Wily-Cat if he
13:46still remembers all the good times they had together. This guy knows rage baiting. Wily-Cat attacks him
13:52immediately and tries to kill him, but Lion-O intervenes once more, reminding Wily-Cat that there
13:58would be new beginnings for everybody and that meant putting the past behind for the sake of the future.
14:03Not that far off, the Doberliner prepares to land and commanders and generals make sure the soldiers
14:09are all standing in attention. It is clear that the Lazarians are enslaved as they are beaten for
14:14minor errors like not standing up straight. Doberlord gets off the Doberliner, enjoying the sight of
14:20New Thundera. General Lupus, Doberlord's right-hand man, asks whether the Thundercats accepted his rules
14:26of surrender. Doberlord knows that the Thundercats will not surrender so easily, so he tells them that he
14:31has made some other arrangements. The General catches on and asks whether he has recruited a
14:36traitor, but Doberlord laughs as he has not one but multiple traitors helping him. He thinks the
14:42Thundercats should not expect anything less as they had joined hands with their enemy. In the Royal
14:47Palace, the Thundercats prepare for battle and Panthro fixes the Thunder Tank. Wily-Cat asks why Lion-O
14:53looks so haggard when they know about a Fountain of Youth on Third Earth. Panthro replies that the
14:58fountain had disappeared into thin air and they could not find it. Wily-Cat hates all the changes
15:04around him, especially Bobcat's inclusion, as he doesn't like the way he looks at Wily-Cat.
15:09Panthro tries to calm his worries as he feels that Bobcat is a good addition. Wily-Cat lurks into the
15:15room asking if any of them need a hand, but Wily-Cat hates Vulture Man and insults him. Before Panthro
15:21could tell Wily-Cat off for his rudeness, Lion-O and Mum-Ra enter the room, claiming to have a solid plan.
15:28Their plan's pretty simple. Mum-Ra would disguise everybody as dog soldiers and they would take
15:33Lion-O as his prisoner to infiltrate the Doberliner. They would first knock out the soldiers in the
15:39guard and steal their weapons and uniforms. Once they caught Doberlord, it would be smooth sailing
15:44as they would have the upper hand. Lion-O commands the Thunder Kittens to stay in the palace and stay
15:50out of trouble. Chitara isn't on board with the plan as she thinks taking Doberlord hostage would make
15:55them no better than Mum-Ra. Lion-O asks her to come up with a better plan quickly if she has any
16:00problems with the current plan. With time of the essence, they all agree to follow the plan.
16:06Bobcat begins phase one of the plan and starts knocking out the dog soldiers. He doesn't have
16:11to fight for long though as Mum-Ra arrives and gets them all knocked out with a simple spell.
16:16Chitara, Bobcat, Mum-Ra, Slythe, Jackalman, and Vultureman wear the uniforms of the soldiers and
16:22Mum-Ra disguises them all as dog soldiers. Once they reach the entrance of the Doberliner, Lion-O reminds
16:28everyone why they were doing it, for Thundera, and Mum-Ra commands the guards to open the door for their
16:34new prisoner. At that moment, Lion-O realizes his cuffs were too tight for him to escape easily and
16:40tries to tell Jackalman, but Jackalman yells at him to stay quiet. He then kicks Snarf, who was hiding
16:46in Lion-O's cloak, like a football, claiming he always wanted to do that. Confused, Lion-O asks what
16:51Jackalman is doing and Mum-Ra removes all of their disguises and asks whether it is an obvious.
16:57Doberlord finishes his sentence and tells Lion-O that he's been betrayed.
17:02Wrong Source of Betrayal
17:04While roaming the rooms of the Royal Palace, the Thunder Kittens find Mum-Ra sprawled on the floor
17:09with one arm missing. The two kittens, who cannot stay out of trouble, sneak into the room and ask
17:15why he's still in the palace. When they don't get an answer, they poke him with a stick and when he
17:19speaks, asking them to stop poking him, they run away in fear. Wily-Cat suggests telling the others,
17:25but Wilycub points out that if the dogs left Mum-Ra in such a state, the Thundercats could not have
17:31been better off. In the Doberliner, Pumira and the other captured Thundarians are led into the
17:37dungeons. Lion-O is chained and shocked repeatedly by Doberlord, his equally sadistic wife Diablador,
17:44and Mum-Ra. Wait, if Mum-Ra's here, who was in the palace? Just hold on, I will get to it.
17:50Doberlord asks Lion-O to admit he's in charge or get shocked again. When Lion-O simply stares back,
17:56Lady Diablador shocks him once more. The torture is too much for Lion-O's body and he passes out.
18:03Doberlord decides to return once he wakes up again and leaves. As Lion-O moans in pain, he hears a
18:08voice telling him that he should have passed out, or at least pretended to pass out much earlier.
18:14In the nearby room, General Lupus takes permission from his Alpha to deactivate the Mum-Ra skin. He
18:20then gives a report of the mission. General Lupus had used the holographic transmographizers to appear
18:26as Mum-Ra and used it to turn the others into dog soldiers. He had revealed his true form when Mum-Ra
18:32claimed to appear as the dog soldier, but Lion-O and his cats had not caught on. Now, because of
18:38their plan, Lion-O and the rest of the Thundercats and mutants would think Mum-Ra is the turncoat,
18:44and blame Lion-O for trusting him. Speaking of turncoats, Jackalman visited the Brig to run salt
18:50over his wounded friends. The Brig is already a war zone as Cheetara had picked up another fight,
18:56this time with Slythe. The two move on to a fistfight after name-calling when the door opens,
19:01and in walks Jackalman. Everyone tries to get a hand on him, but he's not the one imprisoned,
19:06and simply sneers at the fate of his friends. Slythe asks him why they sold him out,
19:11and Jackalman tells him that Jackals were practically cousins to dogs. Doberlord had
19:16convinced this fool that he is of noble blood, and in the idiotic hope of becoming a duke,
19:21Jackalman had agreed to side with the dogs. Jackalman's immune to being called an idiot,
19:26as he thinks he's on the side of the winning team and leaves the Brig with the other turncoat,
19:31Ma Mutt. In the torture chamber, Lion-O sees a Lizarian chained and asks who he is. The Lizarian
19:37tells him that he is Komodomar, son of Komodomorison. Lion-O recognizes him as a Lizarian whose race has
19:44allied with the War Dogs. Komodomar asks him not to blame his people for choosing slavery over death,
19:50as it is his fault being the Lizard King. Lion-O relates to the feeling and hears Komodomar's story.
19:56Lizaria was a peaceful planet, with philosophers, artists, and gardeners, till the War Dogs attacked.
20:01Their savage and cruel invasion had destroyed their planet, and Komodomar had tried to broker
20:06a deal with them. The Lizarians believed that as long as Komodomar is alive, he would lead them
20:12to a land of peace and paradise, as it was prophesied during the time of his birth. Doberlord knew about it
20:18and used it to control the Lizarians. Komodomar is really regretful about the way his people were
20:23being used to commit heinous acts, but he's also helpless. He remembers every single atrocity the
20:28dogs have committed. The burning of Buglaria, the massacres at Kanga Realm of Marsupion IV,
20:34Bun-Dar set aflame, and now Thundaria. Lion-O refuses to allow his kingdom to be another feather
20:41in the cap of Doberlord, but he can't do much. He tries in vain to break free of the chains he is
20:47trapped in. In the palace, Mum-Ra gets up and the Thunder Kittens run away in fear once more.
20:52This time, Mum-Ra asks them to stop as he is in no condition to hurt them.
20:57This encourages them to go near him, and he tells them what happened. Mum-Ra had decided to rest after
21:03coming up with a plan with Lion-O. When he woke up, his best friend Ma-Mutt had ripped his right
21:08arm clean off and left him for dead. Mum-Ra is inconsolable, having lost his arm, his pet,
21:15his henchmen, and possibly his enemies as well. He doesn't know how to get them back either,
21:20as the only thing that stood between thousands of blood-hungry hounds and total domination over
21:25Thundera is just him and a couple of Thundarian brats. Wily-Cat is not so disheartened,
21:31as he has a plan that would solve everything.
21:33Living up to a legacy. Wily-Cat's plan is to imitate the original plan. As Doberlord, Mum-Ra takes the
21:40Thundarian kittens and walks into the Doberliner. The guards assume the kittens must be really big
21:45troublemakers as the king himself has decided to escort them. Within moments, the real Doberlord
21:51walks in to interrogate the Thundarian prisoners. The guards begin to stutter, realizing something
21:56is amiss, when suddenly the Dober alarm goes off, alerting everyone that there's a breach in the
22:02brig. Doberlord begins yelling who let the cats out, which is followed by wolves from his soldiers.
22:07I find that detail hilarious. In the brig, Chitara attacks Mum-Ra as soon as she's free. Wily-Cat and Wily-Cub
22:14hold her back, explaining what happened and their plan to infiltrate the Doberliner.
22:19Wily-Cat can't believe that he now has to fight alongside Mum-Ra, but he doesn't have time to
22:24brood over this issue, as the guard dogs are close behind. Mum-Ra transforms to his powerful version,
22:31and they unleash hell on the dogs. During the fight, Bob-Cat mentions to Wily-Kit that they
22:36make a pretty good team. Wily-Kit is surprised he's asking her out during the fight of their lives,
22:41but she says yes, delighting the young guard. They break into the torture chamber and release
22:46Lion-O and Komodomar. Lion-O tells them that with Komodomar and his people, they have the chance to
22:52turn the tide of the battle. Wily-Cat gives Lion-O the Sword of Oprah, which irritates Lion-O as his
22:58school should have been teaching him about the Sword of Omens. It also makes me wonder if Thundera
23:03gets Earth's TV networks and if the Thundarians enjoyed Oprah's show on a lazy weekend.
23:09Back to the story. Lion-O and Mum-Ra rush to teach Doberlord a lesson and Wily-Cat begs to go along.
23:15Lion-O thinks it's a bad idea not wanting to lose him once again, but Wily-Cat needs the opportunity
23:21to prove himself and Lion-O reluctantly agrees. The rest of the team heads out. The dog soldiers
23:27barricade the entrance and the guards command them not to let the cats leave under any circumstance.
23:32The Lazarians are offered double rations for every cat they kill. When the Thundercats and Komodomar
23:38arrive at the entrance, the commander of the soldiers asks them to aim. The Lazarians take
23:42one look at their king and turn against the dogs. In the control room, Doberlord kills General Lupus
23:48and mocks him by saying he accepts his apology and resignation. Lady Diablador doesn't approve,
23:55asking him why he is such a poor sport. Lion-O enters and agrees with her, as Doberlord would now need
24:01all the help he can get. Doberlord attacks with this powerful trident that shoots a blast of energy.
24:07Wily-Cat pushes Diablador in front of Lion-O and she's decimated immediately. It affects Wily-Cat
24:13too, who passes out. Lion-O rushes at Doberlord and disarms him. Doberlord does not have any fighting
24:19skills and is all bark, no bite without his trident. He eggs on Lion-O to finish him, but Lion-O tells him
24:26that that is not the Thundercat way and that he would be given a fair trial for his galaxy-wide reign
24:31of trouble. Before Lion-O could finish his speech about what's right and ethical, Mum-Ra kills Doberlord
24:37and declares that it's a good thing Mum-Ra's a bad guy. For once, I agree with Mum-Ra. They walk out of
24:44the Doberliner and see that the Lazarians had made the dog soldiers pay for enslaving them with a bit of
24:49help from the Thundercats. Moments later, Lion-O asks Komodomar to stay in New Thundera and settle
24:55there, but Komodomar has different plans. He decides to use the Doberliner to go back to the
25:00planets they had destroyed and try their best to undo their deeds. Lion-O then turns to Vulture-Man
25:06and gives him one of the smaller War Dog ships to return to Plundar. Vulture-Man is overcome by
25:12gratitude and thanks Lion-O for finding it in his heart to forgive them after everything they had done.
25:17Lion-O asks him to get out before he starts to remember them all. They decide to take Jack-O-Man
25:23along as a manservant. Mum-Ra forgives Ma-Mutt, unable to stay mad at the sweet brown eyes of the
25:29dog. Dog-Dad Mum-Ra is a whole mood. Once the mutants were off-planet, Cheetara wonders why they
25:36didn't kick them off sooner. Panthro brings up the matter of Lion-O's succession now that things are
25:41peaceful again, and Wilykit asks him not to talk about it while Mum-Ra is around. Lion-O overhears
25:47it and suggests giving a second chance to Mum-Ra, but Mum-Ra himself is against it. He tells him
25:53that the only reason he helped them is because he wants to destroy Thundera on his own terms. He
25:58promises to destroy the planet and its people and make Lion-O beg for his mercy, but along the way,
26:04he has learned to appreciate the cat and mouse game between them. Mum-Ra wonders why Lion-O hasn't
26:10figured out that life is short even after Mum-Ra had accelerated his aging process. Lion-O is shocked to
26:16learn that Mum-Ra is behind his aging. Mum-Ra then discloses he had destroyed the Fountain of Youth
26:22and reverse-engineered its water to accelerate his aging process. Mum-Ra wants Lion-O dead,
26:28but he wants to extend the game a bit longer, so he offers him the antidote. Wilykat is suspicious
26:33of the liquid, but Mum-Ra points out that if he wants to see Lion-O dead, all he has to do is stand
26:39back as Lion-O is aging like nobody's business. Lion-O seems to agree and sips the antidote.
26:45Meanwhile, throughout the adventure, Snarf had been hanging from a nearby tree thanks to Jack-O-Man's
26:50kick. The story was unpredictable and it had me wondering who the traitor was right from the
26:55beginning. Mum-Ra's character growth was also surprising. One plot hole that I did find, though,
27:01was that Mum-Ra took down all the guards with a spell while helping Bob-Kat. If that was supposed to
27:07be General Lupus, how did he do that? Ignoring this tiny error, the story was fascinating. The art was
27:13good and consistent, too, and deliver it an awesome reading time. The color palette was a bit too gaudy
27:19for me, but that's just subjective. The only thing I wanted from this comic book, though, was Wilykat's
27:24journey. It could not have been easy betraying his entire kingdom, but we don't get what he was doing
27:29for 15 long years, and the story jumps right into his acceptance. I understand the Thundercats'
27:34perspective, though. I would forgive a friend for their worst deed, too, if I thought they were dead.
27:39Anyway, what did you think of the comic book? Yay or nay? Let me know in the comments below,
