00:00Fire up the beast.
00:04Hello, it's me, Guzcan, chameleon off the TV.
00:10What you may not know is that I am an absolutely obsessed petrohead.
00:18But here's the thing, when it comes to cars, I have always been a purist.
00:23I think cars should remain as original, fresh from the showroom floor.
00:26Why mess with perfection?
00:27But lately, I've been looking at things I shouldn't have been.
00:32Modified cars.
00:34Them big wings.
00:36Wide arches.
00:38Turbo swaps.
00:39I know it's wrong, but it feels so right.
00:42So I've made a decision.
00:43My next whip is going to be a fully modified masterpiece.
00:47All my own vision, all my own money.
00:50£2,600 for the two.
00:54Well, I'm a novice in this game.
00:56I have zero technical skill.
00:58But fear not.
00:59That's why I'm bringing along my big brain best friend to help us out.
01:03Lumball.
01:06All spit serious.
01:08I like it.
01:08I'm meeting the kings and queens of car modification all across this great nation.
01:18Naughty car.
01:19Naughty car, bro.
01:21Oh.
01:22I'm trying to peek under their hoods.
01:24Pump it.
01:25Pump it, Ian.
01:25Pick up their skills.
01:27I think my shirt got burned.
01:28And learn their sacred secrets.
01:30Bro, dude, we talk about Elon Musk.
01:32We found a real genius in a random shed in Northampton.
01:36And when my masterpiece is finally finished, I'll reveal it to the most hardcore modification
01:42nerds on the planet.
01:43What could possibly go wrong?
01:53A lot, actually.
01:55Yeah, a lot.
01:55So let me bring you up to speed real quick.
02:03Here we go.
02:04I bought this 2007 Honda without ever seeing it in person, because that's how I roll.
02:11Honda S2000.
02:12Maybe your mom used to drive one.
02:13Not anymore.
02:14It belongs to me.
02:15Mm.
02:16And now I'm going to turn it into the sickest car I've ever owned, by modifying the hell
02:22out of it.
02:22Shiny pipes.
02:24So far, me and the boys have given the exhaust a serious grunt upgrade.
02:29Oh!
02:30Oh, that's naughty.
02:31That sounds good.
02:32And possibly, because I never saw the S2000 in person, I didn't realize it was built for
02:37hobbits.
02:38I feel like I could swallow it.
02:39Not already.
02:40So, we put a new set of seats in so it can actually fit inside.
02:44But these are dope carbon fiber bucket seats, so it's all good.
02:52Me and Lambo are headed down to the workshop, but something weird is going on on the streets
02:56at Dudley this morning.
02:58Every brother's out here looking like they're honest, Schwarzenegger.
03:01Flip, you know, he's a big lad.
03:02Look at him, he's going to gym.
03:03No, he's not that big.
03:04Oh, no, no, bro.
03:05He looks like he can bend a house with two hands.
03:08No, he's not that big.
03:08He is.
03:09No, but the thing is, sometimes people look stronger, but they're not very strong.
03:12Rip's trained, they're well, isn't it?
03:13Yeah.
03:13No, but he trains hard, though.
03:14Yeah, and he's strong, bro.
03:16Yeah, I don't know, he is strong.
03:17What I like is he's got a lot of that calisthenics ability as well.
03:20He controls his own body.
03:22Anyway, let's stop talking about our Kurdish barber's body and how sexy he is once he's
03:30exercised and his muscles are glistening.
03:32This is not what we're here for, okay?
03:35Let me get back to what we're talking about.
03:37Flipping heck.
03:38I must have beefcakes on the brain this morning because the next mod on the list is going
03:43to get rowdier than Roddy Piper on roids, you get me?
03:47Boys.
03:47Yes.
03:48Good here.
03:48How are we?
03:49Master technician.
03:50How are you, sir?
03:50Good to see you, boys.
03:51Very good.
03:52Very good.
03:52That's right.
03:53It's time to bless this whip with a proper sound system.
03:56One that costs no less than £1,000 and is made up of seven brand new speakers, including
04:03a hefty sub.
04:05I requested it.
04:06I said I need sound.
04:07I need vibes.
04:07I need to be part of the Baseline Mafia and you are facilitating.
04:10We're going to hook you up.
04:11Looks like a lot of sound.
04:12I don't know what is even going on here.
04:14So, I mean, the stereo in that is pretty much pants.
04:17They're all pants, ain't they, from that era?
04:18Which is the only way?
04:19What?
04:20Because they want you to listen to the beautiful symphony of the engine.
04:24Yes.
04:24Probably not.
04:26They're probably just cheaper to give us a rubbish system.
04:28Probably.
04:29Plus, it's a lot louder now, so we need a bigger stereo.
04:32For sure.
04:33So, first thing we're going to do is change all the speakers out.
04:36We're going to add new speakers to the back, which the car doesn't have as standard.
04:39Okay.
04:39So, it's going to sound way better.
04:40We're going to put you at eight-inch sub in the back.
04:43So, it's not enough to give you a massive kick in the back, but it's really going to
04:46add some nice clarity and a bit of bass in there as well.
04:49Okay, sick.
04:50It's going to sound nice.
04:51And upgrade the stereo as well.
04:52We're upgrading that to DAB as well.
04:54The old DAB.
04:55Get the DAB on.
04:58Loads more better.
04:59Loads.
05:00I'm excited because I want this.
05:03The main thing for me is that a car that looks good is great.
05:07Yeah.
05:07A car that sounds good is great, but tunes are a fundamental part of rolling in your
05:13car.
05:13That's what you want with the hood down.
05:14Let's go, baby.
05:15Yeah?
05:15I'm going to sound bad.
05:16Yeah?
05:17Yeah.
05:17Bad isn't good.
05:18Bad isn't amazing.
05:19Bad.
05:19Bad isn't good.
05:20Bad isn't good.
05:20Bad isn't good.
05:21Bad isn't good.
05:22Bad isn't good.
05:23Bad isn't good.
05:24Bad isn't good.
05:25Bad isn't good.
05:26Bad isn't good.
05:27Bad isn't good.
05:29Because they had nothing left for any speakers in the back.
05:31So first job for Darren and Lumbo is to make space for my brand new cones.
05:37I'm just going to make that little bit of room there, screw two screws in there.
05:40Trouble is, when you stick in speakers where they were never intended, there's not a lot
05:46to work with.
05:47There's literally no way to screw it to you.
05:49I'll have to make two brackets from the bottom there, which we're going to get Dan to do.
05:53Because Dan's the man.
05:54No, no, I think you should get Gus to do that.
05:55I think Gus the man.
05:56I prefer Darren being the man.
05:57No, I think it's a democracy and we're all going to vote.
06:00Yeah, Gus the man.
06:01So Gus can do that.
06:03Right.
06:04That's it.
06:04I like this new relationship, by the way.
06:05I do.
06:06It's good for growth.
06:07Do you feel comfortable with me?
06:08Absolutely not.
06:10But how many decibels can one brother take?
06:16There's only one person who can answer that question and they call him the Iceman.
06:25Ian, man.
06:27First of all, thank you.
06:30Okay, so he's also known as Ian, but his mom calls him Iceman.
06:34Why?
06:35Because ICE stands for in-car entertainment.
06:38And Ian is the absolute Don Dada of extreme audio-visual modification.
06:45I have to ask you straight off the bat, what in the spaceship is going on inside?
06:48It's got one or two speakers in it.
06:50One or two?
06:51Yeah.
06:52Times 400.
06:53There's 16 I can see from here.
06:55Genuinely, how many speakers am I seeing just on that door card there?
06:59Well, there's about 10 in each panel.
07:02Oh, my God.
07:03You've got them in a foot wide as well.
07:04I have.
07:05Why you got hearing problems or something?
07:07What is...
07:07Not yet, not yet.
07:08What's going on?
07:09Every space in the car has been modified to house a speaker.
07:13I can see the shape of this.
07:14Is this all custom fabricated as well, to the speakers?
07:17I've built and designed and fabricated the whole vehicle.
07:19In the drivers and passengers seat, you've got amplifiers embedded in the seats.
07:23Where the bottom of the rear seat is, you've got amplifiers embedded in there.
07:27Yo, Ian is smuggling amps in this Beamer like they're illegal contraband.
07:31But it has given me a brainwave for my S2000's new system.
07:36And I don't want valuable boot space being taken up with a big old amp.
07:40Darren can stash it somewhere clever.
07:42If I ask him nicely, of course.
07:44I once dropped a PlayStation 1 when I was a kid.
07:46Yeah.
07:46And when it fell apart, it looked like that inside.
07:48What is that?
07:49That's a Class A amplifier.
07:51Bro, explain to me.
07:52I'm an absolute noobie.
07:53What is a Class A amplifier?
07:54The amp itself is built with high-end components that gives you a real high-quality sound.
07:59Basically, it reproduces music better than any normal amplifier.
08:03Man, you've got to take me for a ride.
08:04Absolutely.
08:04Let's go. Come on.
08:06Enough of this guided tour.
08:08I need to feel the wind in my beard as this E30 speeds down country lanes.
08:13I need a solid wall of sound to pummel me into acoustic submission.
08:19Put your foot down, Ian.
08:24Ian.
08:24Get in second gear, mate.
08:28Come on.
08:32So, the MO with this car, bro, is low, and we've got to take it very slow.
08:37Yes.
08:38There's about 400 kilos more weight than the standard car.
08:43That's affecting how it feels when it drives, right?
08:45Absolutely.
08:46It affects the road holding.
08:47It feels like a little bit of a whale, you know.
08:49You're carrying so much weight.
08:50Probably not the best setup for these country roads.
08:53There's someone with a horse.
08:54There's a horse in the back.
08:55A horse in the back.
08:56Yeah.
08:57I bet the horse is lighter than all the speakers in this car.
09:00Let me tell you that.
09:01Yeah, it is.
09:02Even though we've got an abnormal amount of speakers to the left and the right,
09:06a roof down in the E30, bro, is still a special experience.
09:10Yeah, it's really special.
09:11It is a magical car.
09:13Ian's right.
09:14It is magical.
09:16But are we talking like Paul Daniels pulling hankies out of his sleeve
09:19or David Blaine shooting bolts of lightning from the top of a skyscraper?
09:22Time to find out.
09:25Let's see what you've got, baby.
09:26No worries.
09:29Bad man!
09:40Bad man!
09:40I'll tell you what.
09:42It's higher than right nose anymore.
09:43Ha, ha, ha!
09:44You all right?
09:45What's that?
09:46I'm back!
09:48Consider this My Audition tape for the new Countryfile presenter.
09:52Oh!
09:54The cows are feeling good.
09:56Absolutely.
10:00He had the audio output that would have put noise complaints in for the next 50 years
10:05if we'd done that in a normal residential street.
10:07We needed to be in the middle of nowhere.
10:09And let me tell you, the sound output, the bass for a convertible car was next level, you
10:15know?
10:15My ears are still hurting out.
10:18My ears aren't the only thing struggling to withstand the power of Ian's subwoofer.
10:21Seems like the car is too.
10:22Seems like the car is too.
10:23Oh!
10:24Oh!
10:25Oh!
10:26Oh!
10:27Oh!
10:28Oh!
10:29Oh!
10:30Oh!
10:31Oh!
10:32Guys, I have to pull over one second.
10:33Detached.
10:34So, bear with us.
10:40Yeah, um...
10:42I think the bottom of the car just fell off.
10:45That's what happens when you add 400 kilograms to a BMW 30.
10:54With your eyes, man!
10:55Don't panic.
10:56You haven't accidentally switched over to all creatures great and small.
11:02Stand up.
11:03Look around.
11:04Everybody wants to look around.
11:05Everybody wants to look around.
11:06Everybody wants to look around.
11:07It's still your boy Guz cruising these country roads with Ian the Iceman Pindar and his
11:12mobile sound system.
11:13Which is back up and running again, thankfully.
11:15Ready, set, go.
11:16You know what I think we should do, bro?
11:17You know what I think we should do, bro?
11:18We should head back to the country estate and listen to some sounds, innit?
11:19I think we should.
11:20I think we should.
11:21For sure.
11:22But before we get this party started, Ian needs to make a few adjustments by adding...
11:29...yeah, you guessed it, more speakers.
11:33And these ones he carries around separately and hold them up.
11:36I think we should.
11:37For sure.
11:38But before we get this party started, Ian needs to make a few adjustments by adding...
11:43Yeah, you guessed it, more speakers.
11:46And these ones, he carries around separately in a van.
11:53I walk into the crowd of all eyes on me.
12:03There, loud.
12:04I'm leaving.
12:1150 speakers.
12:12They show.
12:14Did I personally enjoy that mobile rave?
12:16No, it's a bit weird.
12:17We were in deck chairs.
12:28You know what, if Ian wants early onset deafness, that's his choice.
12:33It's his life, ain't it?
12:34I'll tell you now, it's been days since I sat in that car.
12:36I still can't hear properly.
12:44Yeah.
12:46At the workshop in Dudley, we're still a way off having our own little rave up, but Darren
12:51and Lumboo are on the case, fitting the S2000 with a load of brand new speaker cable.
12:56It's got this nylon fish tape, really useful for putting cables through.
12:58We're going to feed that through, through that original rubber bucket.
13:00You can see that?
13:01Yeah.
13:02fish tape really useful for putting cables through we're going to feed that through through that
13:07original rubber okay through this you can see there yeah tape it on the speaker cable there
13:12pull the speaker cable straight through and we can make that off without a speaker sounds easy
13:17it's not going to be easy but it's the only way to do it whilst darren and lumball fiddle around
13:23with miles of cable fabricator dan and i are going to get to work on some custom brackets for the new
13:29speaker which means only one thing it's power tool time oh what style is dangerous it's an angle
13:38grinder to you how important is um the term safety considering i've just been to the hospital three
13:44times in the past month with having metal in my eye from using said machine there's your answer but i
13:51did wear my safety glasses so if i were you yeah you carry on yeah catch me behind the hoodie baby
13:58that's where you're going to find me right we just need two l-shaped brackets yeah just to raise the
14:03speaker so it doesn't rub so it's 20 by 20. now this is a bespoke type of job so you're probably not
14:11going to walk into your local hardware shop and find the exact size bracket you might need to do it
14:16yourself or you can hire our dan very reasonable rights but he is in hospital around five months of
14:22the year right let's get them drilled straight through the centers i mean we could do it the
14:30the bad method and hold it and just drill but from past experience it snapped and bounced and it went
14:36into that one it went into that you never it's only happened once that's why we always clam big man you're
14:43lucky we've got the nhs in this country otherwise you'd be in big trouble i've got him on speed yeah right
14:48let's get a clam let's get a clam i'll be right right actually what am i doing there you go you
14:56see you're trusting me to do this no i'm not trusting you but if i look the other way we'll be all right
15:00okay so what did you do you clamped it from here yep
15:08ah you see our dan they're just tenderly moving my body warmer out of harm's way
15:13now we're cooking he may have no regard for his own personal safety but he's looking out for your boy
15:17warrior legend warrior legend you are pal we want to turn these two 90 degree l shapes
15:24are we going to a new machine the folder yeah show me the folder does it fold metal
15:29oh it doesn't do well then the folder is a great name yeah so if you want to pull the lever down
15:33slightly but surely here we go yeah there we go and then bend it up
15:41there you go i cannot feel how strong that is so lenny strong come on brackets beefier than my
15:54kurdish barber's triceps but before we fit the back speakers the first of my new 13 centimeter
15:59mid-range cones are going in and it's out with the oem head unit ready to be replaced by a box fresh
16:07unit with all the trimmings we're talking bluetooth dab radio usb input and wireless remote the display
16:15even has a fully adjustable color scheme so i can match the lights of the unit with the s2000s dashboard
16:21come on technology technology do you know what dsp stands for digital sound profiling close
16:30a profiling why would the sound be profiling uh discrete sound penis
16:39that's even closer you know what i don't even care well you have i care about what it sounds like
16:46but you have glad i've got it but you know all right i've looked it up and i can confirm lumble
16:54definitely doesn't have a clue what it stands for but i do dsp stands for digital signal processor
17:01which is a computer-based tool that analyzes and optimizes audio signals before they reach your car
17:06speakers to improve the sound quality i still prefer discrete sound penis but that's just me
17:12on to the final speakers to fit the twin cones which we're concealing behind the original back panel
17:20it's just the cables that we're pushing against yeah it's not touching any of the body at all
17:25when it's in place which is important because you don't the magnet touching any of the body at all
17:29i have made life hard for myself with this because we want it to sound great yeah we are you know
17:33print speakers where you shouldn't have them yeah but this is what i love about custom stuff
17:37we're making it way better than the factory ever intended talking away better than the factory
17:42darren how's about them brackets that i very diligently bent into shape for you pal yes look
17:47at that speaker you can see exactly what we've done those brackets that you made actually work really
17:51well they're perfect you heard them man my brackets are the best in the biz and i'd like to thank my
17:57mother my agent my my high school teacher and fabricator dan who's currently in a and e this is one of
18:04those mods that the car community won't be angry at us for because they can't see it well exactly
18:07that exactly you've got your microphone up here as well so you can make phone calls from the stereo
18:11as well that's up there got your dab aerial on that side wow there's a lot of cables on this
18:17there's a lot of cables but i suppose like you said the stealthier it is yeah the trickier it isn't
18:22it well that's it you want to hide things away you want things neat it takes longer to do it yeah
18:27speaking of which time to have a look at the subwoofer which inspired by iceman ian's hidden
18:32amps darren is going to stash away neatly in the recess where a spare tire would normally go because
18:39who needs a spare when you're skanking to some filthy drummer based on a hard shoulder not me
18:45it's all trimmed up that's exactly the same carpet as the boot now so you've mounted this
18:48felt yourself that's not straight from the boot no no no made this did you yeah not you ever gonna
18:54see it because it's all covered but when you do take the spare wheel cover off it's gonna look nice
18:58as you let's get it mounted because i really want to fill this system i can't wait
19:06first when you come to you can you plug it in cool and you've got the two less sets of
19:09two sets of final leads three ass cracky job what you see no the carry on you're doing good
19:16oh my days each of lumball's arms is two and a half meters long so you think he'd be perfect for this
19:22job but he's still making a meal of it just tell you how i do it when i can't see stuff
19:27mm-hmm get me right no have you got your phone yeah watch this
19:33that's right lumball wants to show darren that modern smartphones have torches on them
19:42next he'll be showing off his watch with the built-in calculator
19:46but you're currently taking selfies of yourself no i'm not taking a selfie he's now yeah
19:51i know i definitely collect a selfie you having you having fun lads what are we doing over there
19:59done thanks but that's all connected
20:03lumball did a big fuss oh let me show you something it's a technique pass me your phone
20:08to help me put wires into an amp what is this
20:11what the taking selfies gets you through the day does it there's a darren there too
20:19you want to know how i feel there you go that's how i feel about lumball's technique
20:34i'm guz khan and i'm deadly serious about learning everything i can from the car modification
20:39community so serious in fact that i've traveled to milton keynes the roundabout capital of the uk
20:47i'm meeting somebody who's part of a petrolhead subculture that i've always wanted to get involved
20:52with oh yeah alina guys how are you how are you mate good to see you good to see you listen it's not
21:01up there with the prettiest cars i've ever seen but there's a reason alina's keeping her little beamer
21:06rough and ready she's a drifter mad about all things motorsport 22 year old alina is a sister
21:15who loves to go sideways taking up drifting just two years ago alina quickly got to grips with this
21:21technical driving technique which is all about the oversteer losing traction in the tyres to skid
21:27sideways while still in control of the car and after she's showing me around a bmw i'm going to visit
21:34a drift tractor check out the action up and close baby sometimes i pull up to these driveways i don't
21:41know what the car is what year it is or what it does but here e46 the classic option drift across the
21:47windscreen i know exactly what you're doing here because you're a drifter you haven't gone for a
21:52stinky engine you've gone for the three liter right we've got the big one yes you have and so e46 is a base
21:58even one in this condition they're not cheap anymore you must have paid a good bit of money
22:02for this actually i did get this for a steal i got it for 1500 don't lie to me 1500 quid it sounds a
22:10little bit like you stole the car but if you did i'm here with you i'm here to enjoy you on the journey
22:14it's a cheap car an entry-level car that gets bashed around to have a little fun in so i didn't want to
22:19spend loads of money and get something mint where you could have more fun in something that looks like
22:23this aside from keeping the look stock or worse than stock actually alina's putting some work by
22:29buying used coilovers and suspension and a welded diff which keeps the wheels turning together during
22:36drifting everything she does is on a budget though super cheap modification to any drift car yeah take
22:44everything out of it we've got bare wires we've got no door cards we've got no roof lining seats you
22:50haven't kept those luxurious leather ones from bmw no no why would i do that when you can buy these
22:55super good solid buckets 200 quid and if you look in the boots over there you can see that's what a
23:02tire will look like when you've had a few minutes of drifting come on these and that's i've never seen
23:07the bare metal exposed in that way but you know what that means that means you're doing your job
23:11you know drifting the out of this car for less than two grand alina got herself a german whip
23:17that's a dream to drift and let me tell you i want my own slice of that dream i'm ready to drift
23:22where shall we drift there's a roundabout over here i know that look that's the look of a woman who's
23:27about to crap on my dream we need to get a little bit of a sweat on this afternoon we need to draw some
23:33holes yeah maybe maybe every day work work here is everything that we will need oh gosh these are the
23:43side skirts that we're putting on there's a jack so let's get started
23:49start jacking it up you know what's crazy i've never actually heard rust before it usually doesn't
23:56have a sound i shouldn't normally should rush shouldn't have you shouldn't be hearing rust
24:02let me bring the tire over for you great thinking i'll tell you what i don't trust that jack on this
24:07rust bucket and i'm not going anywhere near it without some extra insurance there you go just
24:13in case tonight so the reason i actually took these off in the first place was because when you're
24:19drifting i smashed into things because i'm not that happens when you drift yeah so they just came off
24:24same with the front bumper you see that's what i like about drifting you know people don't care about
24:28no i broke this i broke that and help me understand is there like a complicated gluing system
24:34or a clip system if you have a look inside it's meant to have little clips that will slot into
24:41these clips yeah yeah i can see however we don't have that today so we will be just drilling it in
24:45but that's the great thing about a cheap car you can just drill holes in it straight through the
24:49side straight into the bare metal into the bare metal
24:52that's it easy now it's your time oh god there you go so that's normal yeah keep going
25:04you sure yeah yeah so now you're at the metal there you go now you're in the perfect oh is that okay
25:15it's bent but it's a drift car the side skirt is on the car we can now take it to a track day we
25:22probably the the shittiest attempt at putting a side skirt on a car
25:26it's horrendous it's quite bad it's bad isn't it look they're not even in line it's fine it's on
25:33yeah i'm happy and if you think elena's approach to side skirts is somewhat casual you're gonna flip
25:39your wig when you see how she deals with this aftermarket bumper so now we're just gonna tie this
25:44up super safe super effective you want to put two in there just in case absolutely not sure yeah it'll
25:51be coming off next week cable ties screws duct tape this is a wild type of modification it's on it's on
26:02but one that makes perfect sense while selena's learning to drift her e46 around the track
26:08she doesn't want to worry about wrecking expensive body work that takes hours to remove
26:12hence the aftermarket bumper which may have come from a jumble sale smart very smart
26:21if i let go i'm not sure it's gonna stay okay
26:25okay listen let's just leave it okay yeah and like you said it's gonna come off anyway because
26:30you're gonna be drifting hard yes you legend you next time i catch up with elena will be at the track
26:36and i can't wait to see her show off some sideways skills you know
26:41i just hope that bumper stays on look i get it drift cars are all about getting bumped knocked
26:47around you might lose a spoiler here you might lose bumper there you're not supposed to look concourse
26:52like many of the cars we've seen on this journey so far see that car there actually a very affordable
26:57drift car when you think about it everything in we calculate it just under about three grand she's
27:02very very good she's a drifter she loves drifting she's a very impressive young lady
27:13at the workshop in dudley the new stereo is fully installed and finally good to go
27:18let's bring the noise boys we are ready for the symphony let's get it baby come on
27:25we are this is the good bit so what what what choose you got first all right let's play some of your
27:32favorites
27:44when he cranked it
27:45and i heard it there was part of me that thought shall we just lie
27:52this doesn't need a lot of setting up yet yeah this is literally the first turn on shall we go
27:58but i couldn't bring myself to do it because it sounded like a wet fart
28:05do you want a couple of minutes to set it up bro yeah yeah let's take a couple of minutes to just
28:09set this all up yeah disaster it wouldn't happen on your watch would it exactly i'll let you into a
28:18little secret yeah it's not just me who's investing in getting this stereo working i know because time
28:22is money and look there's a whole tv crew here some who are desperate to get this thing working
28:28so we can stay on schedule and some who just have eyebrow appointments to get to
28:34working
28:37darren what do you reckon it is bro it's not getting a signal from the uh usb cables
28:44as we sat there in silence and i looked around at the entire cast and crew including his stuff
28:50i felt bad for him man everyone was stood around i never heard him mutter before i heard darren
28:56mutter for the first it was there with that thing going well you know now it is
29:04it's very tense at the moment
29:07simmo any suggestions mate should i turn it off turn it back on again great shout so it's going to be a
29:12problem with the rem cable the rim cable uh-huh what was that it's the remote switch on cable ignition
29:18live basically i feel a lot like i'm having a conversation with somebody from a bomb disposal
29:23unit right now it makes sense yeah so what we gotta do now to make the music come out of the speakers
29:29stereo out yeah i'll fiddle about the cables at the back have a mess with those and it should turn
29:34the 12 volts onto the amp and then we should be good oh okay expert fiddle incoming
29:41normally i wouldn't doubt down for a moment but he seems stomped by this stereo speaker shambles
29:51and if i can't get this one working i ain't got nothing left in the budget for another upgrade
29:54so no pressure big man
29:56i'm guzcan and i'm hanging out in this workshop in dudley with my best mate lumble and modification
30:12maestro darren coleman and we're trying to turn this old honda s2000 into a suit top bad man street
30:18car but so far the stereo install hasn't exactly gone to plan it's very tense at the moment simmo
30:26any suggestions mate turning it off turn them back on again great shout but if there's anybody i trust
30:31to tackle these technical mishaps it's my boy darren and i've been immersing myself fully into the
30:37modification lifestyle helping my new mate alina get her bow scarred beamer ready for another day at the
30:44drift track that's what a tire will look like when you've had a few minutes of drifting i've never
30:48seen the bare metal exposed in that way you know drifting the out of this car
30:56and now the time has come
30:58welcome to the wild smoke blasting rubber wrecking bumper breaking world of drifting
31:16and this lot are unhinged i love it including alina who's taking that rough and ready e46 for a
31:23warm-up lap at a track
31:29events like this don't just magically happen oh no there's always an og behind them
31:33and i want to meet the main keys behind this paradise of petrol fumes
31:38lads matt is here oh hello mate how are you brother good to meet you mama okay yeah
31:44what's your name brother me me good to see you man lads i have to be honest with you some people
31:49dream of learning to ride horses yeah some people dream of learning to play the piano
31:53in the real g's yeah they dream of drifting is it i'm guessing like anybody who does any kind of car
31:59modification it's a bit of a disease and it's a drug oh yeah it takes your life over mate yeah if you
32:04if you haven't taken over your life you're not doing it properly you're not a proper drifter no
32:07it takes all your money all your money the money the time relationships in the bin but worth it
32:12because when i listen all i know is when i see you on youtube it feels to me like drifting
32:17is the coolest most accessible form of basically racing cars yeah like my kids if i say to them
32:23what's the coolest drifting when i ask my mates it's always drifting and when it comes to this
32:27car in particular like the camera at the front is absolutely mental is that a requirement we're in
32:33like this yeah so that's to help with clearance of steering and to give you more grip on front
32:38because when you drive the car it actually sits on the whole contact patch when you're sideways
32:42because the cars are set up to go sideways and uh on the rear we set it so it is positive camber
32:48and then when you accelerate it slams on the floor grips up and gives you that inertia it's about
32:53getting grip at the rear not slip what a word bro inertia v is that what got you into this i just
32:59thought adrenaline have some fun when you never donate you never will understand so you actually never
33:05have i seen a man who i'm more sure is into adrenaline than v that's all i'm going to tell you and in
33:10terms of what we need with the vehicles for people who don't know can you drift a front wheel drive
33:15car nah front wheel drive is off you need a rear wheel drive car for this to work not four wheel
33:21drive rear wheel drive two wheel only does it have to be manual there is some guys that use uh an
33:26automake but the essentially a manual is better because you've got control of the car through
33:30wheel speed through the gears there's a lot of scientific input that's going on here wizards well yeah you
33:36are absolutely yeah for sure you're drift wizards oh yeah something like that can we go and check
33:41out some drifting we can do yeah let's take me now be all the best mate yeah careful with that bonnet
33:47is that me that's me there yeah my guy v's out here driving like he's got vendetta but how is he actually done
34:09is clutch kick faint entry is just done there say this again to me the technical use of the word there so
34:15clutch kick faint entry is you use the weight shift of the vehicle this is not pulled the handbrake
34:20in a straight line then create angle it clutch kicks the car flicks unsettles the car use the
34:26weight and inertia to then settle the car up on countersteer and then feathers the throttle from
34:30there and here on out this is more difficult than a level biology bro this is very scientific it's pretty
34:36scientific yo i'm not gonna lie this looks a lot harder than on youtube my guy v has left the track to
34:43go and get another face tattoo so the coast is clear for alina to get busy
34:50although she must not rate my bodywork skills because the bumper that i expertly attach with cable ties
34:56is nowhere to be seen well i'll tell you what this girl can drip
35:12oh i spoke too soon man i hope them side skirts are still in place this is what happens yeah without
35:18consulting me first when you go rip my handiwork off what happens boom you end up in the sidewall i didn't
35:24lose traction rolling on i just went in a straight line instead of sideways and then that happened
35:31you know i was looking to alina as a fellow drifting rookie to give me a little confidence boost before
35:37i got behind the wheel and now i feel like we're burying a pet hamster all right pretty bad isn't it
35:45no i wouldn't say bad at all i'm not professional yet so still learning this is hard stuff he's
35:55talking to me about like inertia i don't even know what that means i've actually never heard that word
36:00before in my life exactly how are we supposed to know how to drift properly when we don't even know
36:03the technical terms there's a lot to it yeah no there is a lot um you know i learn something every
36:07time i go out on the track yeah you're safe that's the most important thing it was mad though everything
36:13fell off your car apart from reading the side skirts that i drilled in that's a really good point right
36:19yeah yeah yeah so is there you got any tips avoid walls yeah no hitting walls for sure
36:30hang on let me write that down um avoid walls cheers thanks for that lena thanks very much
36:35hoping matt can give me a little bit more than that though time for my drifting lesson in a nissan 350z no
36:43less you ready i'm feeling it when i say i'm feeling it just take it easy though yeah i ain't taking it easy mate
36:50you're all right there mate you're in
37:10there's your lona
37:11that's the dana
37:25it's called counter steer so when you get the oversteer this counters the laws of physics
37:29yeah it's a science thing again right so we're gonna go into the first corner yeah get some grip
37:35heat into the tires then we're gonna let the car off
37:41it was at this point i realized i had made a terrible mistake and that terrible mistake
37:45was turning up today i should have sent lumber
37:58but just as my sphincter began to unclench and i started having fun
38:03oh the car's failing it's all over
38:09what has that got to do with my weight oh what a time for it to go wrong
38:16it's very intense the entire team is gathered around the drift monster
38:21we're trying to ascertain exactly what's going on here but i feel like
38:24i don't really know look look at them look how many around the engine mate experts everybody get
38:32their fingers out wait fingers out where who when we get my finger out my finger here
38:42ah it's even worse ian speaker laden e30 the new stereo in my s2000 alina's bmw and now
38:52matt's 350z drift car mate absolutely nothing's going to plan is it
38:58matt i'll see you in a bit pal yeah all right see you later all right all right all right best
39:01to look with it you have fun getting out of that car there yeah no
39:07yeah is this just a modification life or am i carrying some kind of ancient curse
39:14who cares man i'm very hungry right now the plan is to get into a very comfy uber that's road legal
39:22and return to the garage see you boys son
39:29in the workshop darren has been battling with cables and components attempting to break the guz
39:34khan curse and get something to actually function properly and it looks like we're ready for another
39:39sound check hopefully more successful than the last one hey lads hey guys i got it see i got it
39:52all right okay now that's that's a big improvement that was worth the wait bro
39:59actually what am i hearing here right now we've got i can obviously feel the speakers from behind yeah
40:03yeah yeah yeah what am i feeling about is that the amp lumbo so that's the 18-inch sub in the back
40:08lumbo come and feel this it's different in the car but this is the real test how will lumbo
40:13the human fun sponge respond to the upgraded sonics in the s2000 yeah it's just nice isn't it you know
40:22it's real balanced as well the dsp as well well then we've got the small speakers at the back yeah
40:27these two here yeah yeah yeah you can still hear them you know it still comes through everything
40:31it's just it's perfect for a small car like this but there's one of the surprise i got for you
40:35what's the little controller that we had yeah yeah oh yeah did you know what there you go i'm not
40:42even over gassing it that might be the greatest placement of something that we didn't know where
40:46to place a nice way to you know what you are a master mechanic it sounds amazing but the only way to
40:53really truly test if this is a banging sound system it's not in dc customs it's out on the road can i
40:59take it for a leak yeah go for it sun's out yeah this is what it's all about man and before you eagle
41:13eye continuity nurse start messaging yes these are the original seats back in the car but that's
41:18because i'm not leaving two grand carbon fiber bucket seats with lumbo whilst he rummages around with his
41:23screwdriver you lot must be mad check cranky go on you pump it oh yeah yeah we are catching a vibe
41:38right now baby i mean that vibe happens to be two middle-aged men circumventing a large roundabout
41:43in dudley but it's our vibe okay mind your own business i'm really impressed by this it's good you
41:49you know oh look out just spotted our absolutely hench kurdish barber johnny bachie
42:02should i tell you the truth the sound system might be the greatest sound system that's ever
42:07been installed in a honda s2000 ever but because of this exhaust i can't hear anything anymore
42:14i can't i can't hear it to be fair the stereo ain't on full blast yet because i'm trying to be
42:29respectful to darren's neighbors you know but with the tunes pumping and my best mate by my side
42:35i gotta tell you life feels kind of beautiful man next time on guzcan's custom cars the rap superstars
42:51are in town for the biggest visual transformation of rs2000 yet listen lads you are not mocking about
42:57you're happy with that color i love it i'm telling you right now
43:00i get behind the wheel of a civic type are with a truly unique custom paint job
43:13and it's back to the drift track to pick up where i left off you ready
43:19to see if i can finally prove my technical driving chops come on
43:30you
