00:01:41They want something scandalous. They want a headline.
00:01:44More outrageous things that you say or do.
00:01:47If you have an OnlyFans, if you're hot on Instagram, if you're confident.
00:01:51I could basically post whatever I want, say whatever I want, do whatever I want.
00:01:55This is great. I'm king of the world.
00:01:57You're fumbling up millions of comments.
00:02:00There's more creators and more people making content online.
00:02:03Now anybody could become famous.
00:02:05Every next piece of content will be more extreme.
00:02:08There might be consequences to being a content creator, but as far as the ruse, you make the ruse.
00:02:18I'm Dr. Jamie Cohen. I am a new media researcher, faculty member, expert, but I have a Ph.D. in visual culture and memes.
00:02:27The pizza's about to fall. The pizza's about to fall. The pizza is about to fall, ma'am.
00:02:33The pizza, the pizza, the pizza.
00:02:35For young people, I'm talking Gen Z, even Gen Alpha, they're growing up now, and one of the top jobs that young people want to do is be an influencer.
00:02:45Or they want to be a YouTuber, or they want to be a vlogger.
00:02:49This is my most viral one.
00:02:521.5 million likes. That's crazy.
00:02:55And so internet fame is a real thing. Internet fame is a powerful thing.
00:03:00How do you become famous?
00:03:02I mean, it's, as long as Hollywood's existed, people wanted to be famous.
00:03:06Now that the internet makes you famous, that's a career choice, a literal career choice that people want to make.
00:03:11Sometimes, somebody feels compelled to share something that is not appropriate, and they become the main character of the day.
00:03:25They become part of the discourse.
00:03:27She licked the toilet seat on an airplane, then posted the video to social media.
00:03:32What in God's name is wrong with you?
00:03:35And honestly, if this is your desperate attempt to make something of yourself on social media, I would urge you to delete your account.
00:03:42Actually, better, Twitter should delete her account.
00:03:44And that inappropriateness makes them temporarily viral.
00:03:48Knowing that there's a main character of the day, you can exploit the platform to be the main character of the day.
00:03:54That is a model that is sponsored by the platform itself.
00:03:57Catch a glimpse from the south in the mirror and I got a light.
00:04:00I was still insane before I was famous.
00:04:05When I look back at my childhood and compare it to my internet career, I was literally born and raised for this.
00:04:11I was kind of dorky in high school, like no one really knew who I was.
00:04:14Then when I was 16, I hooked up with a guy in my high school stairwell.
00:04:19Right outside the nurse's office and the nurse caught us hooking up.
00:04:22And I ended up getting suspended for 10 days and the whole town knew about it.
00:04:26Everyone was so shocked and I was like, I can either be really ashamed about this and just keep quiet and fall off the radar and just play it off.
00:04:36Or I could play into it.
00:04:38Because to me, I feel like when you show shame and you show embarrassment, you're weak.
00:04:42So I'm like, I'm not weak.
00:04:45So I just played into it and I was like, yeah.
00:04:47I am this girl who hooked up with the guy in the stairwell and I'll do it again.
00:04:51I'll do it with the teacher.
00:04:53I'll do it with your brother.
00:04:54And I came back to school and everyone was shocked because I had no shame.
00:05:01And everyone really liked it.
00:05:03They were like, this girl doesn't give a fuck.
00:05:07Victory's mine.
00:05:15Thank the divine.
00:05:17What's up, it's Jermani.
00:05:18And I'm going to show you how I make French toast.
00:05:20What's up, it's Jermani.
00:05:21Right now I'm about to go wash some clothes.
00:05:23What's up, it's Jermani.
00:05:24I just got out the showers.
00:05:25My name is Jermani.
00:05:26I'm a content creator as well as a music artist.
00:05:28And I'm just trying to find a way how to provide for myself doing what I want to do.
00:05:32This is my blow up bed.
00:05:33This is my green screen that I use for editing.
00:05:35That's why I keep all my clothes in a suitcase.
00:05:38I used to spend so much time watching TV as a child, you know, whether it's Disney Channel, Nickelodeon.
00:05:43I wanted to be a childhood star or just people like celebrities in general.
00:05:47I just felt like that was just the life, you know.
00:05:50I felt like people that were famous were on the top of the world.
00:05:53Everybody loves you.
00:05:54You're rich.
00:05:55You're like the best person on the planet.
00:05:57You're like the chosen one.
00:06:00I was willing to, you know, do anything for fame.
00:06:02And social media just made that journey possible.
00:06:06That's kind of like, yeah, you just got to learn how to do it and I'll be okay.
00:06:11So, it kind of all started through skateboarding.
00:06:27I mean, I've been skateboarding since I was like 11.
00:06:30And skateboarding is one of those sports where, you know, you're destined to get hurt.
00:06:34You know, so I ended up breaking my limbs.
00:06:35I broke my arm like twice in one summer, completely in half.
00:06:38Oh, my God.
00:06:40And I remember after that, it was kind of like one of those things where it's like, you know,
00:06:43like I'm not good enough to get sponsored.
00:06:44I'm not good enough to make money from this or monetize it, you know, go professional.
00:06:47I loved making videos.
00:06:48We always made these like clip of the days on YouTube where me and my friends would 50% mess around.
00:06:54We're spreading Christmas cheer, man.
00:06:57You're not spreading Christmas cheer.
00:06:58You're being a bloody idiot.
00:07:0050% skateboard.
00:07:01And so, I kind of decided, you know, why don't we make like a movie type thing?
00:07:06Kind of like Jackass, but like our own little friend group thing called GTF the Movie.
00:07:13Once we released the movie, you know, it was like the talk of the town type thing.
00:07:16And I saw the traction that you could get from it.
00:07:18I remember it kind of got me some notoriety around my hometown.
00:07:22It was kind of cool, you know, everywhere I went, people noticed.
00:07:24And so, I enjoyed it.
00:07:26I liked the shock value of the videos.
00:07:33And I've always just been a big advocate for video creation.
00:07:37Because, you know, videos live forever.
00:07:38You could die tomorrow, but the videos, they're always there.
00:07:41They're there on the internet to stay.
00:07:46Oh, shit.
00:07:47Oh, shit.
00:07:48Call 911.
00:07:48Oh, no.
00:07:50Oh, shit.
00:07:52That really hurt.
00:07:53I remember seeing, like, the Tide Pod Challenge.
00:08:01And I remember the Cinnamon Challenge and all the media going crazy about that.
00:08:05Like, constantly, I would see that.
00:08:07All these challenges popping up.
00:08:09The Ice Cream Challenge.
00:08:10So, I said, I want a media-worthy story.
00:08:13I need to lick something.
00:08:16Like they did in the Ice Cream Challenge.
00:08:18Never lick it.
00:08:19Lick it.
00:08:19Oh, pretty bad.
00:08:20Pretty bad.
00:08:21So, during the pandemic,
00:08:22I was going on spring break.
00:08:24And I looked in the news.
00:08:26And I saw that COVID and airplane travel,
00:08:30how they were shutting down travel,
00:08:32were the two things people were talking about the most.
00:08:35Because we were starting to go into a lockdown.
00:08:37People are so scared at airports right now.
00:08:38And I was going on a flight to Miami for spring break.
00:08:41And I was like, they hate spring break.
00:08:44So, I was just like, perfect opportunity to mix that all up.
00:08:47So, I just went for it.
00:08:48And I licked the airplane toilet.
00:08:50And I made the TikTok.
00:08:52Obviously, clean the toilet first.
00:08:54But that doesn't matter.
00:08:55I still licked the toilet.
00:08:55We didn't check my phone for like two hours.
00:09:03We go back.
00:09:04It's a fucking 15 million views.
00:09:07And then I'm getting all kinds of calls and emails from the news.
00:09:11That was my first time being in the news.
00:09:13I loved how it felt.
00:09:14I loved the clout.
00:09:15I loved all the followers I was getting.
00:09:16I loved all the attention.
00:09:17I loved the fighting.
00:09:19The banter.
00:09:19Just what I was gaining.
00:09:21Like the interviews.
00:09:21Like I really liked it.
00:09:23And I think that was probably one of my biggest scandals.
00:09:25Because I was so international.
00:09:26And it was just wild.
00:09:27And they wrote about my song in the New York Times.
00:09:30Skinny Legend Anthem isn't a good song.
00:09:31It's catchy, but it's not a good song.
00:09:33And I am a skinny legend.
00:09:35Damn, I may take a man.
00:09:37I got clout.
00:09:38I got clout.
00:09:39And so it's like for me to have my really bad song
00:09:42in the New York Times.
00:09:44People are going to Google it.
00:09:45And they did.
00:09:45And now I have millions of streams on that.
00:09:46And I made a lot of money off of it.
00:09:48And it's like, all I had to do was lick a toilet.
00:09:54I would do it again.
00:09:55I'm planning things that are similar to again and again again.
00:10:03I'm on fire.
00:10:04I'm on fire.
00:10:04You got to come up with new ideas that are crazier.
00:10:12How much can you shock people?
00:10:14And that's the direction that I kind of took it.
00:10:19Don't tell anyone, okay?
00:10:20I couldn't find the bathroom.
00:10:22I couldn't find the bathroom.
00:10:25Don't tell anyone, please, okay?
00:10:30Just kidding.
00:10:31It's a water bottle, man.
00:10:32It's a water bottle.
00:10:32He was getting so sad.
00:10:35We had filmed this clip where I'd shot a pellet through my cheek.
00:10:38So we took a pellet gun and put it on the inside of my cheek.
00:10:43Don't do it, Turner.
00:10:46Pretty graphic, but it worked perfectly, you know?
00:10:49It shot right through.
00:10:50I could squirt beer out of it.
00:10:51It was pretty cool.
00:10:52And so, you know, I sent that over to Worldstar.
00:10:54I sent that to a bunch of me pages on Instagram.
00:10:56And I think Worldstar ended up picking it up.
00:10:58I got like a million views on Worldstar in like an hour or something like that.
00:11:02And I just remember I gained like 3,000 followers.
00:11:05I had like 600 followers at a time.
00:11:07I gained like 3,000 right there.
00:11:08And that's when I was kind of like, whoa, you know, this is cool.
00:11:10The excitement, I can describe exactly where I was that night.
00:11:16I was working at Panera Bread.
00:11:19I was a dishwasher there.
00:11:20And I guess I had my phone, you know, not on silent.
00:11:22And I had my Instagram notification bell still on.
00:11:26And I remember, I'm like, holy.
00:11:27So, you know, I went to the washroom.
00:11:29And I'd seen everybody send it in my DMs and saying, yo, it's every 500,000 views.
00:11:33And, you know, I'm seeing all this traction.
00:11:35I was like, holy.
00:11:36Like, I wanted to go home right there.
00:11:37You know, I was so excited to like start replying to comments.
00:11:40And that's when I was kind of like, whoa, you know, this is kind of bigger than, you know, just my hometown.
00:11:44You know, this is cool.
00:11:45Is your name Jake?
00:11:46Yeah, that's me.
00:11:48You're the dude that does dumb shit.
00:11:50Yo, I'm following you on Instagram.
00:11:50This is what I wanted.
00:11:51This little fan base.
00:11:52Now, it doesn't have to be huge.
00:11:53Just this little fan base of people commenting, you know, that come back every day to, you know, watch me for me.
00:11:58And I went home.
00:11:59That was super exciting.
00:12:00Yeah, it was awesome.
00:12:05What's up?
00:12:06It's Jumani.
00:12:06I just got out the shower.
00:12:09Look, I take this over.
00:12:12My blood bed has a hole in it.
00:12:14So, yeah, you know how this goes.
00:12:16Got to go get a new air mattress.
00:12:20Probably going to grab this one right here.
00:12:27All right, hold up.
00:12:32He just wanted to check my receipt.
00:12:33But, um, yeah, I'm going to just have to take the bus.
00:12:36My air mattress usually probably last about three to four months.
00:12:46I just grab whatever I see.
00:12:48$10, $15, so I don't really have a preference.
00:12:51You know.
00:12:52I always have to blow it up every three to four days.
00:12:58It'll be hard on my back if I don't put air in it.
00:13:03Yeah, so it can be an issue.
00:13:09You know, I just, you know, appreciate the situation that I'm in because I know it could be worse.
00:13:13Guys, I can't do this until I have some nicotine.
00:13:23I never went viral in an accident.
00:13:25I did it on purpose.
00:13:26I made the song, like, Skinny Legend Anthem with a plan and it worked.
00:13:29Jeffrey and Kanye.
00:13:31It was a plan.
00:13:32I said, there's already rumors about Kanye being gay.
00:13:34Let's play up on those.
00:13:35And I said, what would drive TikTok kids crazy?
00:13:38How can I make this all about me?
00:13:39So I immediately make the TikTok and I say, this divorce comes as no surprise.
00:13:44Kanye has been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru, male beauty guru.
00:13:49Jeffree Star had moved to Wyoming.
00:13:52And obviously that aligned super well because Kanye West lived in Wyoming.
00:13:57So people were like, oh my God, this makes so much sense.
00:13:59Everyone ran with the story.
00:14:00People are making TikTok about it.
00:14:01Now that Kim's finally doing this, I feel like I can spill the tea that I've been holding on.
00:14:05On to for months.
00:14:06This whole divorce comes as no surprise.
00:14:08Kanye has been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru people in the scene I've known for a while.
00:14:13So I wake up in the morning and it's trending number one on Twitter.
00:14:16And I was just like, oh, I did that.
00:14:19And then everyone starts coming to my page.
00:14:20I'm getting millions and millions and millions of views.
00:14:22So I'm like, how can I keep this story going?
00:14:24How can I keep it going?
00:14:24I say, I say Kim's suing me.
00:14:27Hey, TikTok, so I had to make an emergency visit to my shopper's office to get an outfit for court
00:14:31because Kim Kardashian's literally suing me.
00:14:34Like, thanks, bitch.
00:14:35I need an excuse to shop anyway.
00:14:37Bring it on.
00:14:39And I made a fake legal document and I posted on TikTok.
00:14:43And the news ran wild with that because the media doesn't care about being honest with you.
00:14:49Who wouldn't want to read about Kanye West hooking up with Jeffree Star?
00:14:52So they didn't do any research in it.
00:14:55They just ran with it.
00:14:56Kris Jenner says it's absolutely not true.
00:14:59Makes a statement about me to TMZ.
00:15:02And I mean, it was crazy and it was funny.
00:15:04And then eventually it was just like, yeah, I made this all up.
00:15:06And then me admitting I made it up was even crazier because people were like, no, fucking like, this girl is crazy.
00:15:12Did I do harm?
00:15:13Maybe a little.
00:15:15Was it ethical?
00:15:16Absolutely not.
00:15:17Is anything in social media ethical?
00:15:18No.
00:15:19Is the media ethical?
00:15:20No.
00:15:20No, I'm just just as bad as everyone else, especially in that scandal, in that situation.
00:15:25And then I find out recently that Jeffree Star and Kanye West were the fourth most Googled couple of 2021.
00:15:32So I had that much influence and that much power.
00:15:35That was crazy.
00:15:37My first job, I was 17.
00:15:45I worked at Taco Bell.
00:15:48Mostly it's fast food.
00:15:49I worked at McDonald's, Burger King.
00:15:51I worked at CVS.
00:15:54I realized, you know, when it comes to being a content creator, it's about resources.
00:15:59You know, it's about money.
00:16:01I don't have that.
00:16:02I never had that.
00:16:03You know, everything I had was, you know, it's a sacrifice.
00:16:07If I lose my computer and everything that I have, I can't afford to buy it again.
00:16:12When I started thinking about the controversial videos and why I created that, it was free to do that.
00:16:18I can use this to build an audience and I don't have to pay for promotion for this.
00:16:23You know, the promotion is going to come to me.
00:16:25I'm going to go forward with this and see where it takes me.
00:16:28The first thing I say is going to catch people's attention.
00:16:35So I try to, you know, swear and just saying, no, fuck it.
00:16:38You know, people are going to be like, oh, this is, is this guy serious?
00:16:40I have to get into that character and I have to make it believable.
00:16:43I just try to be very aggressive.
00:16:46That's what's going to get people's attention.
00:16:50Fuck right there, CVS, bitch.
00:16:52I didn't know if it was going to go viral.
00:17:06I didn't know if it was going to work.
00:17:07I believed it would, but I wasn't really sure, you know.
00:17:12Within three days, they got 100,000 views.
00:17:16I was very happy when that video went viral.
00:17:18It could be addicting, you know, getting all that kind of attention.
00:17:21I was, I was real happy and I'm like, yo, this is crazy.
00:17:26However people feel about it, whether you think it's funny or you don't,
00:17:29if I can monetize this, if I can, you know, get a fan base from this,
00:17:32then that's for myself.
00:17:39Why do content creators not stop?
00:17:42Internet fame is a fame unlike on any other.
00:17:45There is no way to experience internet fame unless you've experienced it.
00:17:49There is a dopamine hit that has no tangible experience in real life.
00:17:53In fact, if anything, it's incredibly hard to describe internet fame to someone outside
00:17:59the internet.
00:18:00That is a platform exploit designed specifically to train people to do it again and then do
00:18:05it again and do it again.
00:18:06And that's why it becomes an addiction for them.
00:18:09My name is Dr. Donna Rockwell and I'm a clinical psychologist.
00:18:14One of my key research interests is the psychology of fame and celebrity.
00:18:18When somebody recognizes you, when someone adores you, they become used to it and they want
00:18:25that hit of dopamine, but it can't last forever.
00:18:35Tell me your thoughts on this.
00:18:37Are you excited?
00:18:38I actually am.
00:18:39I want to get the, I'll, I'll, no one wants to do it.
00:18:40I want to do this.
00:18:41This is a great idea.
00:18:42Yeah.
00:18:42I'm Jacob Ellis and this is the Porta Potty Rave.
00:18:45I remember when I first started this, one of my biggest inspirations is Steve-O.
00:18:52I posted it on Facebook.
00:18:55You can go find it.
00:18:56I said, I'm manifesting this.
00:18:57I'm going to work with Steve-O sooner than later.
00:19:012019, I got to work with him.
00:19:02We did a video.
00:19:03He tattooed me.
00:19:04I actually have a tramp stamp now, which is awesome.
00:19:08So that's one of my biggest wins.
00:19:10I keep mentioning Jackass, but it's because there's such a staple in this whole like content
00:19:15creation side where when they stopped making movies and stuff, there was like a little
00:19:19hole that wasn't filled anymore.
00:19:20You had a few one-offs, but there was never like people that loved the craft of doing
00:19:24a stunt.
00:19:25Ready to see a big miss?
00:19:26Buddy.
00:19:26I played a lot of Nerf back in the day.
00:19:28Oh.
00:19:30Oh.
00:19:32I can do these crazy things.
00:19:34I can make these awesome videos.
00:19:35I can create this content without anything.
00:19:50Hey, I remember when I was a kid, I used to try to get away with everything.
00:19:54Now I don't give a fuck.
00:19:59The next video I would post would be a video that I did walking into CBS, stealing.
00:20:04How much is that?
00:20:07$19.99?
00:20:08Sheesh.
00:20:09That's way too much.
00:20:11Yeah, I'm going to just take some sour patches, lifesavers.
00:20:17Can you get those out of your pants?
00:20:19Why would I put them?
00:20:20Why would I take them out of my pants?
00:20:21Because it's disgusting.
00:20:22No, I'm all good with that.
00:20:24I ended up getting arrested for that.
00:20:25I remember my first time sitting in jail.
00:20:28Over these videos, I realized this is way out of my control.
00:20:31I think I know what I'm doing, but I don't.
00:20:35When I was in jail, I knew that I was going to have to make more videos.
00:20:38So that means I also have to go to jail.
00:20:40You know, when I get out of jail, I knew that at some point in time,
00:20:43I was most likely going to end up back in jail.
00:20:46Going viral doesn't guarantee you're going to benefit financially.
00:20:50A lot of these influencers have to find ways to make money themselves.
00:20:54GoFundMe.com slash Jermani Struggle
00:20:57They're stuck trying to figure out, how am I going to make money?
00:21:14Hello.
00:21:15How's it going?
00:21:16I am Jade, also known as Jadeasor.
00:21:19I love basketball.
00:21:22I like doing social experiments, seeing people's reactions.
00:21:26I'm a content creator, so I like to make people laugh.
00:21:29I started just pumping out content in Singapore for fun.
00:21:32Because like, okay, this is like a new experience.
00:21:34I didn't expect to gain a following at all.
00:21:36I was just being stupid in Singapore.
00:21:38And people, they liked how weird I was.
00:21:42I was like, oh, okay.
00:21:43I just kept going.
00:21:44And that's when the algorithm picked me up.
00:21:47It's like I won the lottery.
00:21:50Instagram is like my funnel for OnlyFans.
00:21:53And that's how I advertise for OnlyFans.
00:21:56Instagram is like the main advertiser for OnlyFans.
00:21:59They come from TikTok to Instagram.
00:22:01And then Instagram to OnlyFans.
00:22:07Honestly, OnlyFans has changed my life.
00:22:09It's given me like financial freedom.
00:22:11I wouldn't be able to live here if it weren't for OnlyFans, to be honest.
00:22:14So, it's made so many creators millionaires.
00:22:18I never would have like in a millionaire's thought that I could make money monthly.
00:22:24Like just selling my pictures and videos.
00:22:26And it's great.
00:22:29I can't complain.
00:22:31Instagram is a fantasy.
00:22:38It really is a fantasy.
00:22:40And it's like you're going on there and you're seeing the best presentation of everyone.
00:22:43And that's why I have a huge emphasis on just being hot.
00:22:46Because it's like I have to be.
00:22:48Like every time I get a new surgery, every time I do something,
00:22:51every time I change my look or whatever, it's just like it helps.
00:22:55It's bigger than sex sells, but sexualized content sells.
00:23:00And we can do that in extreme ways like pornography or in sort of more mundane,
00:23:05subtle ways like certain poses that are very sexualized and taken from porn chic aesthetics
00:23:11are very flirtatious and mimic what we might see in traditional pornography.
00:23:16So, it might not be porn, but it takes all of the poses and gestures and formats of porn
00:23:24and waters it down for a mainstream audience.
00:23:27Hey, yo, Ava.
00:23:35All these niggas talking hella shit.
00:23:36All these bitches is ugly.
00:23:38They fat.
00:23:38They broke.
00:23:39And we got clout.
00:23:40You're dead.
00:23:40All these haters need a drink.
00:23:41Describe where we are.
00:23:43We're in the smish room.
00:23:45This is where we make OnlyFans content.
00:23:49We have all had sex on this couch over the years when his parents go on vacation.
00:23:55On Thanksgiving, we had an orgy here.
00:23:58Seven people.
00:24:00It's very squeaky, though.
00:24:02You would know better than me.
00:24:04You just got with someone here the other day.
00:24:06Yeah.
00:24:07Half of her videos, I'm basically a director.
00:24:09He films them.
00:24:12Our trusty favorite.
00:24:15This has been inside of us both.
00:24:17It's like show and tell.
00:24:18I know.
00:24:20So, we have duct tape.
00:24:23For bondage play.
00:24:25A screwdriver that I don't know why is in here.
00:24:28But check out Ava's OnlyFans to find out.
00:24:31Yeah.
00:24:33That clip goes on the wall to make people horny.
00:24:36And then we sell them our nudes.
00:24:38I know you've heard of gay for pay holds you straight for pay.
00:24:41Yeah.
00:24:42Well, I'm not bi, technically.
00:24:43But I'll do stuff for money.
00:24:46Someone wanted him to shit on camera once.
00:24:48I know.
00:24:50How much did they pay for that?
00:24:53It wasn't that much.
00:24:54I was really drunk.
00:24:55I took whatever they offered.
00:24:58And then they unsubscribed.
00:25:00So, I don't think I did it right.
00:25:01Yeah.
00:25:02Our friend, our friend shit on some guy in a basement for 10 grand.
00:25:06That I would do.
00:25:07Me too.
00:25:08Shit all over that guy.
00:25:10I respect the hustle.
00:25:12I would do it too.
00:25:13This guy just subscribed.
00:25:15I'm just telling thank you.
00:25:16Thank you for subbing.
00:25:19Yeah.
00:25:20So, the mime was an idea that we came up with.
00:25:36Because mimes, they're silent, right?
00:25:37So, when you're in pain, most of the time you're making some sort of noise.
00:25:41You're screaming a swear word or something.
00:25:45So, we thought, you know, let's do painful things.
00:25:48You'll dress up as a mime.
00:25:49And then you can't make a noise.
00:25:51You have to just use your facial expressions.
00:25:52It's a stunt.
00:25:58And we do, we get that shock value and that craziness to it.
00:26:01But then there's comic value behind it.
00:26:03There's comedy to it where people are like, oh, that was crazy, but it was funny.
00:26:06And that's what made Jackass so successful.
00:26:12I like watching people get hurt.
00:26:13I bet everybody here has watched Ridiculousness or America's Funniest Home Videos.
00:26:17People want to see it all the time.
00:26:19So, there's people now like me on the internet that will do it for you.
00:26:21And you can watch it all the time.
00:26:26So, yeah, for the mime, it blew up on TikTok originally.
00:26:29So, like, okay, let's keep the mime gig going.
00:26:32And it was, it was, we gained, I think I gained like a million on TikTok in like two weeks.
00:26:36I've never seen those numbers before, right?
00:26:38We started uploading them to YouTube.
00:26:39People started going over to our YouTube because at the end of the day, YouTube is the main goal.
00:26:43That's where we drive everybody.
00:26:45And people love it, so.
00:26:51I go by either Easton Cyrus or Peter T-Time, depending on the platform that you'll find me on.
00:27:03I feel like Easton Cyrus and the TikTok content is more of just fast-paced bangers,
00:27:09whereas the Peter T-Time content was supposed to be more about parkour and training and athletic stuff versus the high-risk stuff.
00:27:16But now they've kind of blended into all being the high-risk stuff.
00:27:19I just found more success through the high-risk stuff online and the success of it made me want to pursue that more than the other avenues.
00:27:31What we click on and what we interact with, whether we like it or not, this new attention economy is brokered by all of us.
00:27:38We are the ones that get to decide as consumers what gets pushed to the top and who makes it in this world.
00:27:44I think what most people don't know about influencers is it's a ton of work.
00:27:56Your fans are always commenting, always interacting with your content.
00:28:00There's always a demand to put more out there, never being able to step away.
00:28:04If you're trying to join the live, just leave a comment and send a request.
00:28:21Mazi trying to join the live.
00:28:26Yo, what's up? What's good? Slim Block Boy.
00:28:28Um, go through the comments. Shout out, uh, TooManyChurros.
00:28:35Everybody want to join the live now.
00:28:37Yo, what's good, bro?
00:28:39As far as in why people would want to watch, people would want to see, like, someone that just came from the bottom and, you know, found a way to make it to the top.
00:28:48And that might attract people.
00:28:50I'm about to add you right now.
00:28:52Yo, what's up, bro?
00:28:53I know this might sound funny, but, like, I'm trying to make sure, like, nobody, like, hurts me and I don't, I try not to get into any physical altercations. You know what I'm saying?
00:29:13Um, Jake Paul? Jake Paul probably knocked me out. I'll get in the ring, though. I'll do it. I would do it just for the publicity, though, honestly.
00:29:25Yeah, you really got to. Just for the publicity.
00:29:28The people that's going to follow, they're going to follow. The people that support is going to support.
00:29:32Um, and that's all I can do is just try my best to, you know, move in the direction I want to go in and I just have to continue to move forward.
00:29:40You know, I don't know what the future holds. You know, anything can happen.
00:29:43Where you from, bro? Where you from?
00:29:45Me?
00:29:46Yeah.
00:29:47I'm from Jamaica, bro.
00:29:49Jamaica, all right. I was just, I was just asking, but, yeah, all right, go ahead. My fault, bro.
00:29:53Hey, one of your most iconic lines was, um, was 1999, nigga.
00:29:59Sheesh.
00:30:01Yeah.
00:30:02Oh, my God.
00:30:04Someone, someone asked a question. She said, when are you going to be, when you, when are you going to become happy?
00:30:08That's a good question, bro. That's a good question, man. Um, I don't know. I probably, I probably not going to be satisfied until I'm, you know, making money as a full-time content creator.
00:30:21I've been contacted by so many people and, you know, I do have people that, you know, tell me, you know, keep my head up and, you know, move in a better direction.
00:30:27People understand the way how I feel. So, yeah, if I didn't have faith, I wouldn't have done the videos that I did.
00:30:33There are no rules for being a content creator. There's no more, uh, ad breaks. There's no more adherence to some, some sort of, uh, structural, you can and cannot do this.
00:30:49We have to be aware that the rules aren't established by the structure any longer. The rules are established by the content creator.
00:30:56So, one of my most famous climbs was the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California.
00:31:06Guys, we've just made it to the top. This is incredible, to be honest. It's so beautiful up here.
00:31:12And I'm not allowed to talk about how I climbed the bridge or any aspects of the climb itself.
00:31:19It's a federal monument and the repercussions of climbing it were pretty severe.
00:31:24A British agency, they picked up the story and they aired it. And that very same day, like, thousands of people were messaging me, news companies,
00:31:32hey, we wanted to do an interview with you. And the story just blew up and my video went from, like, ten views on YouTube to, like, 150,000.
00:31:39It just took off. I started seeing some of the ad revenue flow in. I got really excited about it.
00:31:45And then the legal ramifications hit me.
00:31:49Homeland Security and the FBI got involved. And so they tracked me down, they got in contact with me, and they came to meet with me in Wisconsin.
00:31:57For starters, we got hit with the criminal case of trespassing. And then on top of that, we got sued by the bridge authority themselves for $50,000.
00:32:05And they pretty much interrogated me, and they ended up asking me about how could they prevent other people from climbing it.
00:32:12It became a very high-profile case in San Francisco. It was, like, in the news every day.
00:32:17And the lawyer who ended up taking my case was a rock climber, and he felt for us.
00:32:22And he wanted the fame of taking on the case, so he took it on for us for a very low cost, and he got us off of all the charges.
00:32:29And it went over pretty smoothly in the end.
00:32:38You can DM, you can direct message a celebrity on their account, which I think probably gets people very excited.
00:32:45Okay, first comment.
00:32:48Comments, comments, comments.
00:32:50A, hearts, hearts, hearts. Wow, heart, heart, heart. What hurts?
00:32:55My comments are, like, half and half. Half good, half bad. Or, depending on the post, they're all good, or sometimes there's more bad ones than good.
00:33:01Perfect and sexy. Thanks for the smile. Hard eyes, hard eyes, hard eyes.
00:33:06Dwayne Davis, 84, clout is the most dangerous disease out there. It's true. I mean, it's true. It's...
00:33:14He said, you're a masochist. What does that mean? I keep getting those comments. I think it's something that, like, someone that likes pain.
00:33:22I think that's what that means. I could be wrong. I'm not sitting there being like, yeah, this is awesome. Yeah, no, I'm definitely not a masochist. Yeah.
00:33:32Kids with semi-well-off parents, expensive hoodie, GoPro, martial arts or gymnastics training, sense of entitlement, bored kids with too much free time, and parents that pay too little attention.
00:33:45I mean, he's pretty spot on with all of that, but, like, what's so bad about a middle-class kid doing something he enjoys?
00:33:53They're not gonna say bad things. I don't think they'll say bad things. I have a pretty good fan base. They love me.
00:33:59You dumb as shit. Um, yeah, straight to the point. I can't disagree.
00:34:06You an inspiration to me, you feel me?
00:34:08I'm an inspiration? How? How I inspire you?
00:34:12You inspire me by doing crazy shit at grocery stores, and it's for honesty.
00:34:16Like, you've got to be able to realize that sometimes it's not about him or talking to what you've got to do, you know what I mean?
00:34:21I feel you. That's not the kind of inspiration I want to be, but I understand where you're coming from.
00:34:26Oh, damn. This one hurts.
00:34:40Spensa said, boy from Whitby suburbs, still trying to make it after 10 years of failed attempts.
00:34:45Damn. Um, I am from the Whitby suburbs. It hasn't been 10 years, man. Give me a break.
00:34:53It's been maybe like half of that. It hurts because it's like, it's, it's not one of those ones where it's like, you didn't look at this skinny asshole.
00:35:01It's like, it's ones that I personally sat down here or like in my car when I'm driving or something that I've thought about, you know, that I'm like, that kind of gets myself down.
00:35:10So then it's like when someone comments it, you're like, oh, damn, like I have thought about that before.
00:35:14So it kind of cuts deep. Like if I've thought about it, damn, that person's thinking about it, too.
00:35:18So it's like, damn, it has been a while and I still haven't made a type thing.
00:35:21And then when you see someone else put it into words and it's like publicly right there, it's like, oh, damn.
00:35:28You know what, Spencer, I'm going to remember that. I'm going to, I'm going to write down that at name.
00:35:34And then in five years from now, if I'm still in the exact same spot that I am sitting right here today, then I'll give you that W.
00:35:42But for now, yeah, that one hurt. Damn.
00:35:45Everyone's on their phones all the time and people are getting less face to face time, which is sad, but it's happening.
00:36:00How the tipping works is that they can like tip to send you a message.
00:36:06So when they send you a message, they can request anything they want.
00:36:10So they can basically type like, hey, can I have, can I have these videos? Can I have these nudes?
00:36:15Duh, duh, duh, duh, duh. Can I have this kind of video? Can I have like a JOI video?
00:36:19Most often requests I get is JOI videos. Jerk off instructions.
00:36:24For some reason, I think they like to hear me talk to them.
00:36:28So this is interesting because it's very personalized and that's why they buy it because it's like directed towards them.
00:36:36When they tip, they can have any type of JOI. They can like request a, can you call me daddy at the end? Stuff like that.
00:36:44Right. So you can make, they can make it their own, like a story.
00:36:48I think I used to be more ignorant to like all this shit and the reality of social media and life.
00:37:05And then I saw the effects that it had on Ethan to get canceled.
00:37:08My mirror broke. Um, how's your day going?
00:37:13I was 20 when I met him and he was 16.
00:37:19I didn't know he was 16 when we met because he told me he was 20 and he lied.
00:37:24And we became friends before I ever knew how old he was. Then I had to not care.
00:37:28It just like, I felt really close to him because he understood me and I understood him.
00:37:31And when we both were working in social media, so we were very much helping each other a lot with that.
00:37:35And I was just like losing that was really hard because it was just like losing someone that was like my partner.
00:37:41So everyone's been trying the giant straw challenge. So I'm going to try it.
00:37:44His internet career started falling apart because he made some like dumb decisions and stuff like that.
00:37:49But that made him die.
00:37:54I am Deanne, Cruz and Sterna. I am the mother of Ethan Peters. Ethan is supreme.
00:38:04Ethan will always be the outrageous one of the group.
00:38:08He is the one who is going to say, hey, I'm here. Pay attention.
00:38:13He made well over six figures right before COVID hit.
00:38:18But then he did a video on TikTok. There was a woman that was taking her kids to Disney every single day.
00:38:28And he made a funny video about calling Child Protective Services because that would be a horrible thing.
00:38:33We're not Disney kind of people. We'd rather go to a rock festival or anything but hang out at Disney.
00:38:40And we said, how? Like, what if your kids like something else? What if they like Marvel and stuff like that?
00:38:45And like, we were just making a joke. Just because you love Disney, what if your kids don't love Disney?
00:38:50They attacked. They decided that he was making fun of this woman's children, which he wasn't.
00:38:59They went after Brands, contacting Brands, telling Brands that this is a horrible person.
00:39:05You shouldn't be using this person. And Brands started dropping him.
00:39:10He lost all of his brand deals and endorsements, loses followers, loses so much.
00:39:16Instead of just saying, you know what? I don't like this person. I don't like their content. I'm not going to watch them.
00:39:28They find this need to destroy them.
00:39:35You know, when I helped him make that TikTok, I don't really feel guilt about that because Ethan did nothing wrong in that TikTok.
00:39:45And nothing wrong at all. The internet decided to make him think it was wrong. That's their fault.
00:39:49Here's the thing. I will never think it wasn't part of my fault that he's dead.
00:39:56I've gone through our text messages and I've gone through our DMs and like there would be points where he'd be posting about his life and I'd be like, go get a fucking Xanax.
00:40:02I will never, ever, ever say I'm not a part of the reason that 17 year old kid's dead.
00:40:11When you make fun of a 30 year old Disney mom and she and her thousands of Disney fans leak your address, nude pictures, phone number, and start sending my family death threats as well as my nudes.
00:40:25She didn't have to use the platform like that. You know what? She could have simply sent him a message and said, hey, I was quite offended by your video, but you know, that video hurt my feelings and I would really be sad if my kids grew up and saw it one day.
00:40:40Could he please take it down? I guarantee Ethan probably would have taken it down.
00:40:43They're still commenting on his Instagrams every single day, bullying a post of a dead child.
00:40:51Another one, bitch, she says, this is what happens when you let your son be gay.
00:40:56If you slap the shit out of him when he came out of you, then maybe this wouldn't have happened.
00:41:01You're only on my account because you wanted to leave this message.
00:41:08It's just absolutely insane. Who does that?
00:41:14You have to be like, that was a kid making mistakes because he was 17.
00:41:17And you have to think about what did I do when I was 17? How did I act when I was 17?
00:41:21What are the mistakes I've made in life?
00:41:23Like you have a privilege that you didn't do that on camera. It's a fucking privilege.
00:41:27There's things that I said on the internet, like I'll look back on videos I made on 2019 and like my Instagram, like archive.
00:41:33And I'm like, yikes. I would never do that at 23 because I grew the fuck up.
00:42:03As far as working a job, I spent 10 years, I didn't have no love for it. I didn't have any passion. I didn't have that motivation to get up every day and do this and do that.
00:42:24If I wasn't a content creator, I honestly think I would be in a lot of trouble.
00:42:31The chances of me committing like real crimes probably would be a criminal, like a real criminal, unfortunately.
00:42:42I just don't know what I would do. That's the problem.
00:42:46So I decided if I'm gonna go to jail, I'm gonna go to jail for these videos.
00:42:56I had one bad day at work. I look at the customers. They're all the way to the door. Things weren't moving the way I wanted to.
00:43:03It was an impulse. I want change and I want it now. For me, it's a lot of tolerance. I ran out of it.
00:43:15Fuck all this subway shit. Fuck all of this subway shit, bro. I'm done working in subway. All of this clock chasing shit is temporary, bro. Deadass. I don't want to do this. I really don't want to be doing none of this shit.
00:43:36I'll throw everything on the floor, man. Deadass. I don't even care, bro. If this is what I gotta do, if this is what I gotta do to get on, this is what I'm gonna do to get on, bro.
00:43:46And I don't know what else to do. So you feel me? If I got a clock chasing my way to the top, I'm gonna clock chasing my way to the top.
00:43:53Just give me an opportunity. I'm gonna take advantage of it. And you know what I'm saying? That's all I can say. You know what I'm saying? I'm gonna make the best out of it.
00:44:00I'm just looking for an opportunity, bro.
00:44:07Help!
00:44:17My name's Terrence Taig. I'm, like, probably one of Jumaane's biggest, like, fans, I guess.
00:44:24My yearbook quote, I understand the consequences of my actions, but I also understand the benefits.
00:44:31It's a Jumaane quote, and it plays into, like, his entire YouTube persona.
00:44:38Yo, one day I'm gonna be a main here. All this is temporary.
00:44:43When I first saw the first Subway video he released, I'm gonna be honest, I laughed so much when I saw it.
00:44:50I just was laughing so freakin' much.
00:44:53That video, when it blew up, got over a million views.
00:44:59Even my friends got ahold of the video.
00:45:03People reposting Jumaane's videos on all these social platforms.
00:45:07Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, all those places.
00:45:12Getting the clicks.
00:45:14And also, it made it onto, like, the local news as well.
00:45:18This Subway one really, like, hit the media, like, for real, though.
00:45:23When he did that stuff, he knew what he signed up for.
00:45:27I know he's doing it for a reason.
00:45:29I know he's not just doing it for clout, right?
00:45:33I mean, he is, but, like, I don't think he's a bad person when he does that stuff.
00:45:37He clearly knows it's wrong.
00:45:40And even though it's wrong, it's just there to get the attention that he needs.
00:45:48At the beginning of when Jake started this, I don't think I understood what the platform was or what it was intended for.
00:46:07All I understood was that my son was making some poor decisions and putting himself in harm's way for laughter or for comedic value.
00:46:15And as Jake was going through high school and finishing up high school, and, you know, you hear about other parents and their kids,
00:46:21and they're going off to college or university, and my son's an influencer.
00:46:26And I was like, I don't even know what that means.
00:46:28Are you getting a full-time job? Are you going to go to school?
00:46:31So it's just a world that I never knew, and I'm not even sure that I could say I completely understand it still.
00:46:38I quit!
00:46:40I remember at a burger joint was a young boy, and he's just trying to, you know, he's trying to get Jake's attention,
00:46:47and he's identified, and he knows who he is, and he's trying to get his attention, and he wanted to take a picture with Jake.
00:46:53Those are kind of, like, smile moments for me where you may not understand, but those are kind of the fun times.
00:47:01Having Ava as a daughter has been very challenging, to say the least.
00:47:13You know, I mean, the stunts she pulls and all this stuff, but I do have to give her credit.
00:47:19The fact that she's, like, went worldwide news so many times, and enough money to be started 401Ks is very impressive at your age.
00:47:29That's all.
00:47:30Not that I like what she, I'd rather have her marry, get married to some guy.
00:47:34I don't want to do that.
00:47:35Listen to this DM I got from some guy.
00:47:37Just had a drink with your dad in Manhattan.
00:47:40He's so proud of you and showed me your page.
00:47:43Would love to connect.
00:47:44Obviously this creepy old man.
00:47:46But you didn't, he's a plastic surgeon, he's offering you free plastic surgery.
00:47:55I never thought about the fame.
00:47:57I mean, you would talk about, oh wow, this clip got so many likes or whatever, you know.
00:48:04It never fazed me that I would equate that with fame.
00:48:09Nowhere near where I want to be in the social media.
00:48:12I just want to keep building followers and a fan base.
00:48:14See, and I'm oblivious to all that.
00:48:16I never thought that it would actually ever get to be this big.
00:48:23Look at her on her pony at the horse show.
00:48:26She won a ribbon, right?
00:48:27Yeah.
00:48:28She had a really nice life, she just didn't like how she looked.
00:48:30Yeah, because she bullied me.
00:48:32I did.
00:48:33I bullied her because I didn't want her to get fat.
00:48:36She wouldn't stop eating out.
00:48:37Something on eating disorder and threw up everywhere.
00:48:39She used to go in a bikini on her trampoline and bounce on the trampoline in a bikini to make all the moms upset.
00:48:45And the kids would come home on the bus from school and then we would all see my mother in a bikini bouncing.
00:48:52Guilty.
00:48:53And she wonders why I have an OnlyFans.
00:49:00It's been tough at times watching certain stunts or activities that my son has done that he would put himself in harm's way.
00:49:06And as a mom, you want your children safe.
00:49:08And to see him cause himself harm, because I think at an age, you don't think anything's ever going to happen.
00:49:14You assume that all will be well or are always going to recover.
00:49:18And as a parent, you always look at, what if it doesn't?
00:49:20What if that one time?
00:49:21Okay, go against, go against, go against, ready?
00:49:25So it definitely had some strains for sure.
00:49:27And you try to be understanding and tolerant, but still provide the direction and guidance as to what they're doing might not be viewed as favorably in the general public.
00:49:37And, but it's been, it's been, it has been challenging throughout some of the years.
00:49:49I don't like the rooftoping at all.
00:49:51Which is fair.
00:49:52We've had fights.
00:49:53I've yelled and I've, you're not doing this.
00:49:56Well, I'm not going to ground a 22 year old guy, you know, what am I going to do?
00:50:02You know, and, and then he would say, well, I wouldn't do it if I wasn't comfortable doing it.
00:50:07I wouldn't do it if I knew I was going to get hurt.
00:50:10I wouldn't do it if I knew I couldn't do it.
00:50:13And I said, well, accidents happen.
00:50:15And I pray a lot for him.
00:50:18A really lot.
00:50:32So I have blonde hair now.
00:50:37Um, I've got a nice mustache going on.
00:50:40Um, the new Jackass movie just came out.
00:50:43They took one of my bits, I think.
00:50:45Like, what are you going to do?
00:50:46It's the internet.
00:50:47Like, you know, I can't trademark a, a video.
00:50:51I can't trademark the mime, you know?
00:50:53People have been doing it since, I don't know, 1920, so.
00:50:56Yeah, it sucks, but it is what it is.
00:51:01You know, Steve-O has been an inspiration.
00:51:03I've mentioned that many times that, you know, that Steve-O is kind of the reason why I got into doing stunts and stuff.
00:51:08And yeah, with the whole mime bit, it was a clear, um, clear-cut rip-off kind of, to the T, you know, even with the skateboard hitting the shin.
00:51:17Would have been nice to get the invite.
00:51:18It would have been cool to, you know, get a little bit of credit in there, but, like, what are you going to do?
00:51:22What a shot, bro.
00:51:27What a huge!
00:51:29The butter is literally all in the top, dude.
00:51:31Oh, you're ridiculous!
00:51:33Do not attempt any of the stunts, you're about to see.
00:51:37If only, if only a whole generation listened to that, bro.
00:51:40You got that shit, man.
00:51:49Yo!
00:51:51Dude, it's just...
00:51:52Yo, what the fuck?
00:51:56Wow.
00:51:57This is the quiet game.
00:52:00Okay, here's my live reaction to seeing Jackass.
00:52:03Take the mime idea.
00:52:04Are you ready?
00:52:06Oh, my God, dude.
00:52:08So, confidence is...
00:52:10Yeah, they fully kind of took it, but, um...
00:52:13Are you ready?
00:52:15You are ready.
00:52:17It's kind of like a fresh start a little bit, so...
00:52:31That's how I'm going to try and look at it, and, uh...
00:52:34I don't know.
00:52:35I think it's time to retire the whole mime thing.
00:52:38I want to be known as J. Killaz, too.
00:52:40I don't want to be known as the guy that puts on mime makeup and fucks himself up, you know?
00:52:45I mean, Steve-O made a noise, and I never made a noise, so...
00:52:49I got him on that.
00:53:01Where should we start?
00:53:04This...
00:53:05This is my gold Chanel bag.
00:53:08It's covered in flies.
00:53:10Because though I am an influencer,
00:53:13I live like the dirty ratchet Jersey bitch I am.
00:53:16This bag...
00:53:18Was $6,000.
00:53:20People look at it, and they're like,
00:53:22Oh, my God, that's the most gorgeous Chanel bag I've ever seen.
00:53:24And it's just as special and different.
00:53:26Like, I only buy bags that are special.
00:53:27This is my latest purchase.
00:53:29I thought the color was quite pretty.
00:53:31This is how I would imagine unicorn semen would look.
00:53:34If a unicorn ejaculated onto a purse.
00:53:37This is kind of the vibe I got.
00:53:39This is the real price.
00:53:42A little dirty.
00:53:45This one was like $7,000.
00:53:47This one was $4,000.
00:53:49Which is cheaper for my bags.
00:53:51I just started collecting them.
00:53:52I got a designer purse addiction.
00:53:54And I got addicted to the fucking bags.
00:53:56And I didn't even carry them.
00:53:58I would just go to the store and see one that was cute, and I could afford it, so I bought it.
00:54:01And then I realized at the end of the year, I was just like, I spent at least $150,000 on purses that I don't even carry.
00:54:09Oh, no.
00:54:10It appears the cats have chewed it.
00:54:14Oh, no.
00:54:15My cats chewed on this.
00:54:17That sucks.
00:54:18Oh, well.
00:54:19Guess it's staying with me and not ever being sold.
00:54:24Not that I would want to sell this one anyway.
00:54:27I got rich way too fast and made a very immature decision.
00:54:32So if you got really rich off the internet, save it.
00:54:35And don't buy dumb shit.
00:54:37Because it's like when you give a 21-year-old like six figures a year, and like obviously she's going to blow it on Chanel bags.
00:54:43Now I'm getting older and realizing I should invest my money.
00:54:46Like on myself and my ass.
00:54:49It's an investment.
00:55:02I could, the amount of money that I've made over time from my content, I probably made a little bit more than $500.
00:55:23But that's over two years maybe.
00:55:25I don't, I didn't make anything that was worth it financially.
00:55:29You know, I've made money, but it wasn't worth it.
00:55:39I think a lot of what's driving influencer culture is the dream or allure that you might be able to make it.
00:55:48And that it might be lucrative and you could be the one that goes viral.
00:55:53So that's what's making the content get pushed out.
00:55:57Statistically to be a super famous, I'm talking top and super famous internet celebrity YouTuber.
00:56:10Your odds are extremely low.
00:56:12There are over 3000 channels making six figures a year on YouTube.
00:56:16Underneath one tenth of one tenth of one percent.
00:56:19Not good.
00:56:20You have your odds and your current odds are easier to get drafted onto a professional sports team and go to Harvard and then get drafted onto another sports team.
00:56:32It's easier than becoming a super famous YouTuber.
00:56:35So it is a, it is statistically difficult to become super famous.
00:56:41That being said, it is anyone can do it.
00:56:43Anybody want to join the live?
00:56:52Damn, Terrence ain't pop up or Teddy.
00:56:56This is crazy.
00:56:57They're not even here, bro.
00:56:59At all.
00:57:00I mean, it is what it is.
00:57:01You know what I'm saying?
00:57:02So, I might have had a couple of viral videos, but that doesn't mean nothing.
00:57:18I didn't make any real money.
00:57:20I didn't make almost any money off those videos.
00:57:22Regardless on how many millions of views that my videos generated,
00:57:27it hasn't done anything for me.
00:57:29My reality is I have a bad reputation locally.
00:57:32The people that are coming to my profiles and sending me messages,
00:57:36but they're coming out of the controversy, so they're coming through hate.
00:57:39You know, they're angry and they want to criticize.
00:57:42And that's really it is.
00:57:44And everything I did is like a circus, like I was a clown.
00:57:47And if I'm going to be a clown, I have to be a clown.
00:57:50You know, I can't just take off the clown suit and put on a business suit
00:57:53and think people are going to stay for the show.
00:57:55They're not. They came to see a clown.
00:57:57That's what they came to the circus for.
00:57:59They want to see the act.
00:58:04What's a message you hope to express most in your story?
00:58:15I don't know, just the person trying to find himself.
00:58:18I don't know, I'm just a regular person, bro.
00:58:21Just a human being.
00:58:22My TikTok has been deleted, which sucks.
00:58:25Tried appealing it.
00:58:26It doesn't look like it's happening.
00:58:27They have the ability to just take you down.
00:58:29Oh, fuck!
00:58:30Yeah, I think I was taking down for self-harm, which, you know, it kind of makes sense.
00:58:34It kind of doesn't.
00:58:35I don't know.
00:58:36It just sucks.
00:58:37Because that was like a big form of, you know, numbers to push towards my YouTube and push towards my Instagram.
00:58:44So, yeah, it sucks.
00:58:45I didn't make a single dollar.
00:58:46At least not from TikTok.
00:58:47I didn't make a single dollar.
00:58:48You know, so as for what's like, to dumb it down for you, I don't know what's next.
00:58:51But I do know that I do want to reshape it so that I can do this for a living, you know?
00:58:55Because right now, that's, I'm not doing it for a living because, you know, we don't, I don't make any money.
00:58:56You know, it kind of makes sense.
00:58:57It kind of doesn't.
00:58:58I don't know.
00:58:59It just sucks.
00:59:00Because that was like a big form of, you know, numbers to push towards my YouTube and push towards my Instagram.
00:59:04So, yeah, it sucks.
00:59:05I didn't make a single dollar.
00:59:06At least not from TikTok.
00:59:07I didn't make a single dollar, you know?
00:59:11So, as for what's like, to dumb it down for you, I don't know what's next.
00:59:16But I do know that I do want to reshape it so that I can do this for a living, you know?
00:59:20Because right now, that's, I'm not doing it for a living.
00:59:24You know, we don't, I don't make anything from it, really.
00:59:36I, forever gonna be looked at as a girl who licked a toilet seat, but who cares?
00:59:41If I licked a toilet seat and I was really ugly, I would not have gone as explosive as it did.
00:59:48But like, there was some sex appeal in me licking that toilet seat, you know what I'm saying?
00:59:53And it's like, if I was an ugly girl looking at a toilet seat, it wouldn't have done if the numbers it did.
00:59:58But I think, especially what I do for a living, like, sex just really sells.
01:00:05You cannot be a woman who has zero talent.
01:00:09Like, I don't have talent.
01:00:11My talent is manipulating the media and blowing up online.
01:00:14I would say that's talent.
01:00:15But besides that, we live in a society where we're seen as objects.
01:00:19We just are.
01:00:20And it's like, a lot of people don't want to admit it.
01:00:23I feel like there are women who don't want to appeal to the male gaze and they go very against the grain.
01:00:27And good for them for that.
01:00:28But I'm not going to do that because I see the advantage of taking over the male gaze.
01:00:32And if men just want to have sex with me and see me as a sex object, because it's what was happening to me for years and happening to every girl I've ever known.
01:00:38I was just like, let's just make money off it.
01:00:41Like, just in general, there are girls who don't have OnlyFans who are getting used by men.
01:00:47At least I make money off of it.
01:00:49Because it's like, you could not be a little sexy internet girl, but then you'll have to go work a 9 to 5.
01:00:53Or you'll probably be sexually harassed at your job.
01:01:04We need to be tuned in.
01:01:05We can't passively interact the way that television allows us to sit back and consume.
01:01:10And we need to remember that we are actually in charge of the platform.
01:01:14It isn't the platform in charge of us.
01:01:16One of the reasons the TikTok algorithm is so powerful is it's based on something called dwell time and actually what you're watching.
01:01:23So it's not as much what you like or share.
01:01:26It's what you're actually watching, which is a much better indicator of what you as a consumer are interested in.
01:01:32So as much as consumers might say they don't want drama, they don't want a certain type of content,
01:01:37it actually is sort of a mirror back to ourselves because we're the ones that are liking, commenting, sharing, and engaging with that content.
01:01:45Yeah.
01:01:46I was getting harassed a lot in the DMs by people saying, why aren't you in the new Jackass?
01:01:50Jackass stole your bit.
01:01:51Have you seen the new Jackass?
01:01:52How come they didn't ask you to be in the mime bit?
01:01:54Blah, blah, blah.
01:01:55So I just posted an Instagram video dressed as the mime.
01:01:59And I said, you can't trademark a genius idea.
01:02:02Kind of like egg on like, you know, the people that were already harassing me about that.
01:02:07And I guess Steve might not have known.
01:02:09He has known about me since 2017 when I snorted pepper spray because he sent me a video saying, you know, good job on the pepper spray snore, bro.
01:02:17And he said, looking at the comments on your last post, people are saying that we copied you with our silent game bit. Did you really do that first?
01:02:28And I just basically replied saying, yeah, that's been my thing for like two, three years now.
01:02:33And he replied saying something like, yikes.
01:02:37But moral of the story is that I did get the follow back.
01:02:40Steve has been an inspiration, so that's really cool.
01:02:44I mean, who knows, maybe they'll do a jackass five and I'll be the star.
01:02:51You never know.
01:02:52I mean, life can work that way, right?
01:03:04I feel like things are just getting worse.
01:03:07You know, it's like after the whole subway thing, when I just reflect on my reputation,
01:03:13I'm like, that thought of suicide was definitely there.
01:03:18It was there multiple times, you know?
01:03:20Even though I'm not dead, I feel like it's only a matter of time, I guess.
01:03:25It's just deep depression, I guess.
01:03:27You know, it does that to people.
01:03:29For some people, like myself, it becomes like, it becomes your life.
01:03:35I've adapted to it for so long.
01:03:38It's just a part of me.
01:03:40Suicidal thoughts kind of start off like, oh, what if I wasn't here no more?
01:03:44Who would care?
01:03:45It's not like really like thinking like, oh, I should kill myself.
01:03:48But like, I wonder who would care if I wasn't.
01:03:51And that's kind of like the slow process of like, no, I don't want to be here no more.
01:03:54But you never know.
01:03:55I think people that kill themselves, they know it's coming, but they don't know exactly when.
01:04:00Like, I think it just hits them.
01:04:02So, I try to be humble about that.
01:04:04You know, you never know.
01:04:25So, I wouldn't attempt something like this outside in a threatening situation.
01:04:37Unless I did it in the gym like hundreds of times.
01:04:40You got it.
01:04:41Let's go.
01:04:42Push it.
01:04:43There.
01:04:44Get it.
01:04:45Big swing.
01:04:47Woo.
01:04:48Let's go.
01:04:50There's a cat over.
01:04:55Number one rule, check your surfaces.
01:05:07Sometimes these tries take like 30 tries.
01:05:09You know, you watch the videos.
01:05:10You watch people do it.
01:05:11It looks like, oh, they're just super good.
01:05:13They just get it right away.
01:05:14Little did you know, they train all day for that one jump.
01:05:16You know what I mean?
01:05:17So, it's crazy.
01:05:18Whew.
01:05:25And that's called a bounce back.
01:05:29Like, I want to do something if it's not in front of a camera or for views.
01:05:32I guess I say this because, like, I have trained, like, years.
01:05:35Now, I'm just at the point where I want an audience to show off my hard work to.
01:05:39Which, that's fair.
01:05:40You know?
01:05:41Yeah.
01:05:42Like, if that's what drives you and that's what helps you get better, then absolutely 100% go for it.
01:05:45Sure.
01:05:46But if that's gonna put you out of your comfort zone, then that's when you have to call it there
01:05:50and say, like, why am I doing this and am I even capable of doing this?
01:05:54You know your limits, you know?
01:05:55You train and then that's pretty much what it is.
01:06:01For what I do, so many people have a different perspective and idea of what it is I'm doing.
01:06:06Some of it's negative, some of it's positive.
01:06:08But at the end of the day, everybody, they want to see it and they want to watch it.
01:06:11I still have, like, a lot of people who are like, man, what you do is so dumb, but I watch it anyway.
01:06:16And there's a lot of people who are like, that's so cool, I wish I could do stuff like that.
01:06:19And I love watching you because I never could do something like that.
01:06:22And I want to see somebody do it.
01:06:24And that's one of the reasons I do it, too, is because, you know, if it wasn't me up there doing it,
01:06:27I'm sure somebody else would be up there doing it.
01:06:30The risks of it is that anybody with a cell phone now can go do some stupid shit
01:06:34and think that they're gonna get famous or get money from it
01:06:38and then fuck themselves up and get hurt.
01:06:40But, you know, that's always been the risk.
01:06:45I mean, people were doing dumb shit before there were cameras, so...
01:06:49I am, like, proud of the amount of followers I've been able to gather,
01:06:56but I'm not really happy with that.
01:06:58I obviously want to strive for a lot more,
01:07:00or I can be more self-sufficient off my content.
01:07:02I've made a lot of plans to get outside and meet up with other creators
01:07:08and go film some more stuff that will hopefully go viral
01:07:12and we'll get some more viral content.
01:07:20The very first time I was ever on a roof and just, like, looking over the edge,
01:07:24it always just kind of made me feel like Batman or, like, you know, Superman
01:07:27just sitting on the edge of a building.
01:07:29And I think I've just built off that feeling from those points after.
01:07:33And I'm gonna keep making videos my entire life, no matter what the repercussions are,
01:07:38because it's something I love to do.
01:07:40I think we're all multifaceted individuals. We're all multidimensional.
01:07:57We're all multidimensional individuals with all different sides of us
01:08:00and all kinds of experiences.
01:08:01They see one dimension because they see my Instagram,
01:08:04they see my scandals, they see my music.
01:08:07They see one dimension that they're being fed and filtered through Instagram.
01:08:11They don't get to hear me talk like I'm talking right now.
01:08:14And that's not really what you go to social media for anyway.
01:08:17You don't go to social media to be like,
01:08:19oh, I want to hear about Ava's experience and I want her opinion
01:08:22on what it's like to be a teenage girl navigating the internet and famous men.
01:08:26They don't want to. They want me to look at the toilet.
01:08:28They want me to do something crazy.
01:08:30So it's like I am now a prisoner to my persona, low key, which is whatever.
01:08:38I've come to accept it.
01:08:53Me and Colton, we've now, it's been, this week has been better than last week.
01:08:57You know, we decided to come to LA at a really poor time.
01:09:00I knew the Super Bowl was this weekend, but I didn't know it was in LA.
01:09:03So this trip was definitely probably the most expensive trip I've taken to LA.
01:09:07It was like six grand though.
01:09:10Like probably all in all.
01:09:11That's because of the complications that have happened.
01:09:13Yeah.
01:09:14You have to look at these trips as not like, oh my God, I'm out six grand.
01:09:18You have to look at it as like, well, it was an investment.
01:09:21I met this person.
01:09:22If I didn't spend that six grand, I wouldn't have met this person.
01:09:24I wouldn't have got this footage or I wouldn't have said this thing to this person
01:09:26that now there may be, you really have to look at it as an investment.
01:09:29Even if the trip is terrible and nothing worked out, you made noise, you made noise somehow.
01:09:34Yeah.
01:09:35And that's how you have to look at it.
01:09:39Dom just hit me back.
01:09:40I said, we still good for three?
01:09:41He said, yes, sir.
01:09:42I said, we can all go and fucking see what happens.
01:09:45All right.
01:09:48Beautiful.
01:09:50Hey, well, got ribbon.
01:09:56I don't know, man.
01:09:57Attach it to the license plate.
01:10:02That's probably enough.
01:10:04You know, sometimes the stunts don't go the way I want them to.
01:10:12So ghetto, dude.
01:10:13Like, fuck.
01:10:17Hey, ready?
01:10:18I'm gonna turn it off.
01:10:20Which eyebrows should I do?
01:10:23You gotta hold it so it doesn't rip your skin.
01:10:25Oh, fuck.
01:10:26Yeah, I think it's coming off.
01:10:27Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
01:10:31All right.
01:10:32You ready, Dom?
01:10:33Yeah, give her.
01:10:37Fuck.
01:10:38How much is left?
01:10:39Holy shit.
01:10:40Is it gone?
01:10:42How much is left?
01:10:43Dude, I look fucked.
01:10:45Well, at least we used the Lambo for a good cause, dude.
01:10:47I feel like I have, like, many different personalities also.
01:11:01Yeah, I definitely went through, like, a TikTok stage, like, OnlyFans stage.
01:11:07OnlyFans stage.
01:11:11Now I think I'm ready to try something bigger.
01:11:17OnlyFans was just a way to like supplement income.
01:11:20I don't think I really wanna like do that forever.
01:11:25Yeah, my dream is to do acting, yeah.
01:11:29OnlyFans, I don't regret it at all.
01:11:30It's just like changed my life.
01:11:31It helped me like pay for acting school.
01:11:34It helped me like pay for where I am living right now.
01:11:37I feel like everyone can be an online personality.
01:11:41Like it's like definitely easier to do like online.
01:11:44You can just post whatever you want.
01:11:46But like acting is hard.
01:11:50I lost friends.
01:11:52So as you're telling him that,
01:11:54picture two or three people that you love.
01:11:58And you lost them.
01:11:59Our post got ambushed.
01:12:02I lost friends.
01:12:03So, not the same as you, but...
01:12:08It's really hard.
01:12:08TikTok, I could just like be myself.
01:12:10TikTok is just like,
01:12:12yeah, I'll just pump out quantity.
01:12:14Quantity over quality for TikTok.
01:12:16But for acting, I have to like,
01:12:18a lot of thought goes in it.
01:12:20And it takes a lot of mental energy.
01:12:23What's up?
01:12:37It's your money.
01:12:38I finally figured out what I'm going to do
01:12:40as far as creating content.
01:12:41And honestly, I'm going to just focus on music.
01:12:43I'm going to just go all in with music
01:12:44and see where that gets me.
01:12:45I made mistakes and I'm stuck with it.
01:12:46With every step, I've been stumbling.
01:12:47I don't think I'll ever trust again.
01:12:49I get caught up in my feelings.
01:12:51I tell you how I'm feeling.
01:12:52You tell me it's a bit better.
01:12:53So, I come to the crib, buddy.
01:12:54Nice little studio.
01:12:56Yo, this was the beat, right?
01:12:57Yeah, that's the beat.
01:12:58Yeah.
01:12:59So, even if you mess up,
01:13:00just keep it going.
01:13:01You can mumble.
01:13:02Yeah, yeah.
01:13:03Make sure I get the right pitch.
01:13:04Yeah.
01:13:05Yeah.
01:13:06Yeah.
01:13:07Yeah.
01:13:08Yeah.
01:13:09Yeah.
01:13:10Yeah.
01:13:11Yeah.
01:13:12Yeah.
01:13:13Yeah.
01:13:14Yeah.
01:13:15So, even if you mess up,
01:13:16just keep it going.
01:13:17You can mumble.
01:13:18Yeah, yeah.
01:13:19Make sure I get the right pitch.
01:13:20Yeah, got you.
01:13:29Damn.
01:13:30Well, I feel so...
01:13:31I just feel so...
01:13:32I don't know.
01:13:33I was just still trying to feel it out.
01:13:35You know what I'm saying?
01:13:36I ain't gonna lie.
01:13:37I'm feeling like a little pressure.
01:13:38So, I'm like...
01:13:43Ain't no trust for these bitches.
01:13:44Ain't no love for my niggas.
01:13:46Don't get turned to a victim.
01:13:47Swear to God, I'm a killer.
01:13:48Niggas stink under my clout chaser.
01:13:50All that shit get you hurt.
01:13:51Put a nigga in the dirt.
01:13:53Yeah.
01:13:54I didn't really want to get on no gangster shit.
01:13:56Just take that shit out.
01:13:57Talk about money.
01:13:58I'm broke.
01:13:59You can speak about wants too then.
01:14:01Yeah, wants too.
01:14:02Don't get overwhelmed, bro.
01:14:03Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:14:04He's coming out good, bro.
01:14:05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:14:06I'm looking out front.
01:14:07I was expecting...
01:14:08Not worse, but I was...
01:14:09Yo, this guy's violent.
01:14:10This guy's crazy.
01:14:11I was trying to get out of here and just be like,
01:14:13You're mixing ass.
01:14:14And just start tearing everything down.
01:14:16And just start to run.
01:14:17Chill, chill, chill, chill.
01:14:18Nah, cause in real life, I'm not...
01:14:19I don't be tripping like that in real life.
01:14:21Like, I've really been trying to just rebrand and, you know,
01:14:23just create a better perspective.
01:14:25Cause I get that.
01:14:27But after hearing your music shit too, I was just like,
01:14:29Yeah, nah.
01:14:30This guy has music.
01:14:31And the way he's going about things is kind of crazy.
01:14:34But his music is what I fuck with.
01:14:36Cause I felt like I could relate to you.
01:14:38With you, bro, I see like a future.
01:14:39I see like your style.
01:14:40I see you're willing to improve.
01:14:41You're really like trying to learn shit.
01:14:43People have a dream, bro.
01:14:45I want to dream with them.
01:14:46Let me try this instead.
01:14:48Cause I think this is way better.
01:14:49It's better lyrics.
01:14:50And I wrote this earlier today.
01:14:52So it's like, fuck it.
01:14:53I feel better about it.
01:14:58Nah, you can see all of my flaws.
01:15:01I could never be right cause I'm usually wrong.
01:15:04And I'm making mistakes as I'm writing this song.
01:15:07I won't ever be perfect.
01:15:09It's the way I was born.
01:15:10Made mistakes.
01:15:11I admit it.
01:15:12Yeah.
01:15:13I just need time to myself.
01:15:14Don't nobody know how I feel.
01:15:15And I don't think nobody will.
01:15:17Too many thoughts in my mind.
01:15:18It affects how I'm feeling inside.
01:15:20Depression been telling me lies.
01:15:21You can tell it's been killing my vibe.
01:15:23Why I feel so uncertain.
01:15:25I just feel like I'm worthless.
01:15:27All this pain I've been hurting.
01:15:28Some would say I deserve it.
01:15:30I don't know why they hate me.
01:15:32Why?
01:15:33But I can't let it faze me.
01:15:34If I do then I'm crazy.
01:15:35But it seems like that lately.
01:15:36L.A., how did it go?
01:15:41L.A. went well.
01:15:43I kind of feel more motivated again to do this content stuff.
01:15:48I think when I started this out, I didn't think I had any talent.
01:15:50But I knew I wanted to entertain.
01:15:52So I just resorted to, you know, paying for fame.
01:15:53I think that's literally like the definition of what I kind of am doing.
01:15:54I'm more excited than I was before.
01:15:55I think this will be a good year for me.
01:15:56I think this will be a good year for me.
01:15:57My advice for someone that wants to do that type of content is to be a good year for me.
01:16:02My advice for someone that wants to do the type of content that I do or just wants to get into content, probably don't do it.
01:16:09There's so many other ways now to make content.
01:16:25My advice for someone that wants to do the type of content that I do or just wants to get into content, probably don't do it.
01:16:30There's so many other ways now to make content.
01:16:32content.
01:16:33Ah!
01:16:34Oh!
01:16:35Give me the dick stuff!
01:16:36Give me the dick!
01:16:37Oh, man.
01:16:38Are you up?
01:16:39Dude, that one got me in the ditch.
01:16:40Oh, yeah, that's right.
01:16:41That one's stuck in there?
01:16:42Hey, it's one stuck in your back, too.
01:16:43I'm here.
01:16:44The last one I'm gonna get you.
01:16:45What's it like being internet famous?
01:16:47Um, you think I'm internet famous?
01:17:01I guess it's kind of cool.
01:17:04I mean, I'm still broke.
01:17:06I still live in my dad's basement.
01:17:08I drive a Honda Odyssey.
01:17:10So, I mean, but I have people that watch my videos, and they leave nice comments, and
01:17:15they like to take pictures of me.
01:17:17So, yeah, it's pretty cool.
01:17:20What's up, guys?
01:17:22Smash that like button.
01:17:24It's like, yeah, Jake, this isn't going on anything.
01:17:26Shut up.
01:17:31We all crave fame for a really good reason, a real human reason, and that's that we need
01:17:47to matter.
01:17:48We need to feel relevant in the world, in our lives, that what we're doing is important,
01:17:55contributive.
01:17:56And I think that it's just that fame has gotten confused with relevance.
01:18:00Because now, when people are famous, they're feeling relevant.
01:18:05And if they're feeling relevant, then they exist.
01:18:08And if they exist, then they matter.
01:18:13What I try to emphasize is that we're already famous.
01:18:19You're famous.
01:18:20I'm famous.
01:18:21I'm famous to my children, to my husband, to my work friends, to my friend friends.
01:18:28I'm famous in my own existence.
01:18:30That's the only show there is.
01:18:32My life, my existence, my fame.
01:18:35And I need to matter to the people in my life who I touch and who touch me.
01:18:42It can't just be about me.
01:18:44It has to be about we.
01:18:53It's like hard to say who you are.
01:18:55I think we all struggle with identity issues.
01:18:59I've been a lot of people in 23 years.
01:19:02I used to be an artist.
01:19:04I used to ride horses.
01:19:08I used to have glasses and be bullied.
01:19:13And I used to believe in unicorns when I was a child.
01:19:18Never made fun of me for it.
01:19:19Then I also was a fucking drug addict in college.
01:19:23And I was, you know, a girl who had really abusive boyfriends.
01:19:30And I was a girl who looked at toilet seat.
01:19:33And I was a girl who made Skinny Legend Anthem.
01:19:35But I'm also a girl who really loves her cats.
01:19:40And really loves her best friend.
01:19:46And a girl who really loves her life now.
01:19:50And I'm a girl who has an OnlyFans.
01:19:51And I'm a girl who has a verified check mark on Instagram.
01:19:55I'm so many things.
01:19:57So why ever put a label on it?
01:19:59And I think people want to do that really badly.
01:20:02So I don't know.
01:20:03I just, I am Ava.
01:20:05That's that.
01:20:06The brand going forward is just Jumaane.
01:20:15To kind of reflect that I'm trying to change.
01:20:20I'm just going to be myself, you know.
01:20:21So people that are genuine enough to really see me for who I am.
01:20:25They'll just see the transition that I'm trying to make.
01:20:28You can see all of my flaws.
01:20:30I could never be right.
01:20:31Cause I'm usually wrong.
01:20:32I won't ever be perfect.
01:20:33It's the way I was born.
01:20:35At this point, it's just about me doing everything that I need to do.
01:20:38To rebrand myself and rebuild my platform.
01:20:41It's just going to have to speak for itself.
01:20:46My recording session, the engineer and producer that I was working with.
01:20:50You know, just the relationship that I've been building with him.
