00:00In addition to bringing students to the CFDA Awards, I do also know that Samsung was a part
00:05of your last collection shown at Fashion Week. So can you tell me a little bit about how you
00:09incorporated Samsung into the collection? Yes. So with Samsung's help, I designed a
00:15limited edition men's and women's unisex sleepwear collection that was pretty much inspired by
00:20technology, the Galaxy Ring, the Galaxy Z Fold 6. I got a chance to spend time with pretty much
00:28all of the products. And, you know, I believe technology and creativity pretty much goes
00:34hand in hand. You know, it really allowed me to sort of dive into the elements of lucid
00:42dreams. I started taking a look at all of the ways that these products inspired me. And I
00:48was ultimately inspired by the luxury idea of sleep. And that's how I came up with this
00:53concept of lucid dreams. And it's just a really beautiful collection that I think just incorporates
01:00the idea of fashion through the lens of technology.
01:05Gotcha. And did you have any other sources of inspiration? There was a really fire trench coat
01:10that was a part of the collection. There were all of these innovative items. I feel like you
01:15kind of do this most seasons. I've always loved to see the bustier moments as well. So were there
01:21any other sources of inspiration besides the tech side? I mean, I think, you know, for me, the root
01:28of inspiration for Laquan Smith is always just the idea of New York glamour. It's all about this sort
01:34of idea of sensuality and creating, you know, really fun, classic, but yet provocative silhouettes
01:41that women can be inspired by, you know, to where Laquan Smith is truly an experience. And it really does
01:48stand for this idea of being unapologetically sexy, you know, and I want to just always continue to
01:55keep that core DNA consistently and making sure that I'm creating a product that's modern and
02:01progressively fashion forward. And I think, you know, it's for me that that's always been the start
02:07of the inspiration is making a product and designing a collection that a woman or a man can feel empowered by.
