00:00:00Representatives encourage lawmakers in the House and Senate to vote for the
00:00:04release of Justice Department files related to the investigations into
00:00:08Epstein. The news conference with multiple survivors of sexual abuse at
00:00:12the hands of the deceased Jeffrey Epstein happened prior to the House vote
00:00:16to release the files.
00:00:30Let her go before me. Whatever, whatever, okay, she's got enough.
00:00:42Are we ready? Yeah. Great to see you all. Good morning.
00:00:51Today is the first day of real reckoning for the Epstein class.
00:01:02We're here to stand with forgotten and abandoned Americans against an Epstein
00:01:09class that had no regard for the rules or the laws. Look, this is one of the most
00:01:16horrific and disgusting corruption scandals in our country's history.
00:01:23You had Jeffrey Epstein who literally set up an island of rape, a rape island.
00:01:29And you had rich and powerful men, some of the richest people in the world, who
00:01:34thought that they could hang out with bankers, buy off politicians, and abuse
00:01:40and rape America's girls with no consequence. Because survivors spoke up, because of their
00:01:48courage, the truth is finally going to come out. And when it comes out, this country
00:01:54is really going to have a moral reckoning. How did we allow this to happen?
00:01:59There should be no buildings named after people in this Epstein class. There should be
00:02:05no scholarships named after them. They shouldn't be enjoying the perks of being
00:02:10affiliated with corporations or universities or writing op-eds or being lionized.
00:02:16And many of the survivors will tell you some of these people still are celebrated in our
00:02:22society. That's disgusting. There needs to be accountability. I want to recognize first and
00:02:30foremost, the survivors. They are the ones who made today possible. Many of you had forgotten
00:02:37about this issue. And frankly, for decades, we have not done enough about this issue. And it's
00:02:43only because of their advocacy, them coming here to the Capitol. They showed up here time and
00:02:48again. And on September 3rd, that the country started to pay attention. And I also want to thank the
00:02:55courage of two of my colleagues in particular. Both of them have suffered, as you know, extraordinary
00:03:02political consequences for what they did. One, my colleague, Congressman Thomas Massey. This
00:03:09would not have been possible if he hadn't led the discharge petition that got 218 signatures and is
00:03:18going to force a vote in the House of Representatives. And this would not have certainly been possible if it
00:03:24were not for the courage of Marjorie Taylor Greene. She signed the petition. And I would keep texting
00:03:31Thomas. Is she going to drop off? Is she going to drop off? Because there was so much pressure against
00:03:36us, so much attacks against her. But she stood with the survivors. For Thomas or me, this has never been
00:03:44political. This is not about questions of Trump or Biden. This is a question of doing the right thing for
00:03:50survivors. We're going to get a vote today. I expect an overwhelming vote in the House of Representatives.
00:03:55And I don't want the D.C. swamp playing any games. They need to pass this in the Senate. And they should
00:04:01not amend it. President Trump has said he would sign the Epstein Transparency Act. It's going to get
00:04:07overwhelming support in the House. It should go straight to the Senate and it should be signed. No amendments.
00:04:13No adding loopholes. Justice is long overdue. And I want to hand it over to my colleague, Representative
00:04:20Thomas Massey. I want to start by thanking the survivors. I mean, they're giving everybody hope
00:04:29in this country. There are survivors of other sex crimes in this country wondering if they should
00:04:34come forward. They're clouded with shame and concerned that law enforcement will do nothing.
00:04:41And these survivors have stepped forth taking that same risk, worried that they will be defamed
00:04:47themselves. They have been defamed for stepping forward. But we're going to get justice for them.
00:04:52And that's going to happen today in the people's house. The founders set up our government with three
00:04:57branches and two branches of Congress. And I don't think it's any coincidence that this could be a
00:05:03coincidence that this fight is being started and it's being won in the House of Representatives.
00:05:08I have people, other survivors of other sex crimes who come to me and say, thank you. You give me hope.
00:05:15You give us hope. There is hope here. We fought the president, the attorney general, the FBI director, the
00:05:24Speaker of the House and the vice president to get this win. But they never, they're on our side today, though.
00:05:32So let's give them some credit as well. They've, they are finally on the side of justice. And as Roe said, don't
00:05:41muck it up in the Senate. Don't get too cute. We're all paying attention. If you want to add some additional
00:05:47protections for these survivors, go for it. But if you do anything that prevents any disclosure, you are not for the
00:05:54people and you are not part of this effort. Do not muck it up in the Senate. So with that, I just want to say I
00:06:03am hopeful too. I didn't know that we would succeed when Roe and I started this effort. Most discharge
00:06:09petitions never make it, maybe only 4%. So we had long odds, but we had some brave women on the Republican
00:06:18side. My colleague, Marjorie Taylor Greene is one of them who's here with us today that you cannot even
00:06:24imagine the consequences that they have suffered. My colleague, Lauren Boebert and my colleague, Nancy
00:06:31Mays. They stood so strong. They put their names on a document in here and then they were pressured in
00:06:38ways that you cannot even imagine. And they stood strong. And that's why we're here today. And they
00:06:44didn't take us seriously over at the executive branch or in the Senate because they always thought they
00:06:50could flip one of these women. They could convince them or control them or intimidate them into taking their
00:06:55names off of this petition. But they did not succeed. This is a victory for those women and women all over
00:07:02the country today. And I'm just glad to be a part of it. With that, I want to introduce my colleague,
00:07:07Marjorie Taylor Greene.
00:07:12Thank you, Thomas. Thank you, Roe. I woke up this morning and I turned to my weather app to check the
00:07:19temperature and it was 32 degrees. And my first thought was, hell has froze over.
00:07:30I want to speak goodness and love and hope into the women standing behind me and all of the other
00:07:39survivors whose names you don't even know, but stand with these women. They are survivors and they are
00:07:48strong and they are courageous and they are daughters of God. They are not victims. These women have
00:07:56fought the most horrific fight that no woman should have to fight. And they did it by banding together
00:08:04and never giving up. And that's what we did by fighting so hard against the most powerful people in the
00:08:12world, even the president of the United States, in order to make this vote happen today. I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for five, no, actually six years for. And I gave him my loyalty for free. I won my first election without his endorsement beating eight men in a primary. And I've never owed him anything. But I fought for him for the policy of the
00:08:41and for America first. And he called me a traitor for standing with these women and refusing to take my name off the discharge petition.
00:08:51Let me tell you what a traitor is. A traitor is a is an American that serves foreign countries and themselves. A patriot is an American that serves the United States of America and Americans like the women standing behind me.
00:09:10And I want to tell you that this only became possible today because the American people whom we serve as representatives here in Congress demanded that this vote happen and they put more pressure on every single elected politician in this city than has ever been put on them.
00:09:33And today you are going to see probably a unanimous vote in the House to release the Epstein files. But the fight, the real fight will happen after that. While I want to see every single name released so that these women don't have to live in fear and intimidation, which is something I've had a small taste of in just the past few days, just a small taste. They've been living it for years.
00:10:02But the real test will be, will the Department of Justice release the files or will it all remain tied up in investigations? Will the CIA release the files? Will a federal jet will a judge in New York, sorry, a judge in New York release the information?
00:10:20That's information. That's information that needs to come out. And will the list of names that these women privately hold and they hold it because of their fear in their heart of what would happen to them if they release it on their own? Will that list of names come out? That's the real test.
00:10:42So I want to thank Thomas Massey and Ro Khanna for your bravery in doing something, doing something that is much needed in America, crossing the political aisle that has become bigger than the Grand Canyon in America.
00:10:58But these men cross that aisle on behalf of these women. And that is more of what is needed today in America than ever in our history. So thank you so much. Who's next? Ro, I'll let you introduce. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
00:11:20Thank you. Thank you, Marjorie, Representative Green for your courage and your words. Before I introduce our survivors, I just want to say that they will make their statements and then you can ask questions of Representative Massey, myself or Representative Green, but we do not want people asking questions and cross-examining the survivors.
00:11:45The survivors. They're here to tell their stories and they should be heard by the American people with respect. Of course, Congressman Massey, myself and Congresswoman Green would be happy to answer questions after that. With that, let me introduce the survivor who's helped organize a lot of this and we'll be introducing, telling her own story and introducing the other survivors. Haley Robinson, thank you for your courage and leadership.
00:12:13Absolutely. Thank you. Good morning. Good morning. A little chilly coming from Florida. Not used to it. I want everybody to take a look. I know everybody sees us today as grown adults, but we are fighting for the children that were abandoned and left behind in the reckoning.
00:12:32This is who you're fighting for. This is who Congress is fighting for. This is who the House of Representatives are fighting for. And hopefully the Senate will fight for us, too.
00:12:44I want to kick this off right. And I want to address Marjorie Taylor Greene, Thomas Massey and Rokana. I want to express my gratitude for all three of you. And I know, Rokana, we spoke earlier.
00:12:55This isn't an incredible thing that I'm watching as a Republican. And this is non-political. But for you to go against your own party and to be ostracized, there's no place for political violence.
00:13:08There's no place for intimidation. And I can say firsthand stepping out against Epstein and his crimes against children. We have all experienced that ourselves.
00:13:16So for you to knowingly put yourselves at risk and put your career at risk is unbelievable to watch. And we are so grateful.
00:13:24I also want to make a proposition for Marjorie Taylor Greene because you've been an advocate for this.
00:13:29If you decide to read those names on the House floor for immunity, I will be more than happy. No security needed. I will stand beside you. I will hold your hand. I will hold your coat in solidarity with you.
00:13:41And on top of that, I did talk to Priyapal, Jayapal, who said she would be more than happy to read those names to on the floor with all of us.
00:13:48It's time that we pull it. We put the political agendas and party affiliations to the side.
00:13:55This is a human issue. This is about children. There is no place in society for exploitation, sexual crimes or exploitation of women in society.
00:14:05There's no room for it, guys. We're not having it. And to the president of the United States of America, who is not here today, I want to send a clear message to you.
00:14:16While I do understand that your position has changed on the Epstein files and I'm grateful that you have pledged to sign this bill, I can't help to be skeptical of what the agenda is.
00:14:26So with that being said, I want to relay this message to you. I am traumatized. I am not stupid. I am traumatized. I am not stupid.
00:14:39You have put us through so much stress, the lockdowns, the halt of these of these procedures that were supposed to have happened 50 days ago.
00:14:50The Adelita Grijalva who waited to get sworn in and then get upset when your own party goes against you because what is being done is wrong.
00:14:59It's not right. For your own self-serving purposes, this is America.
00:15:04America. This is land of the free. Land of the free. In 1863, we have a woman on top of the Capitol building represent freedom. I do not feel free today.
00:15:14I don't know if the women behind me feel free today.
00:15:18So I am begging every member of Congress, every representative to step up and choose the chaos.
00:15:25Choose the survivors. Choose the children. Protect the children. All children. You protect all of us equally.
00:15:37Thank you very much for your time. Following that, Lisa Phillips will be the next survivor.
00:15:43Good morning. My name is Lisa Phillips.
00:15:56It's an honor to stand here again for something America is finally united on.
00:16:02The immediate release of the entire Epstein files.
00:16:06In a divided nation, this is one demand we all share.
00:16:10Last time I stood here, I made a promise to all survivors watching.
00:16:15If those in power refused to release the truth, we would start uncovering it ourselves.
00:16:22For anyone who doubted that, that moment has already arrived.
00:16:27Since that day, more survivors across the country and around the world have reached out.
00:16:32Texts, emails, DMs, firsthand accounts, and evidence.
00:16:38Many are women who were abused or trafficked through the international modeling pipeline Epstein built.
00:16:44Promising visas, apartments, opportunities, futures, while exploiting their dreams for abuse.
00:16:53Most are still terrified to speak publicly because the men involved are powerful.
00:16:58They're connected, and as we know, they're protected.
00:17:01For too long, survivors have watched others speak for us.
00:17:08And while we are grateful for our allies in Congress on both sides, we've realized something.
00:17:14This fight belongs to us.
00:17:16We lived it, and we know the truth.
00:17:18And we will not wait quietly for institutions to decide when we're allowed to speak.
00:17:24The survivors now coming forward have entrusted us with their stories.
00:17:28We are sharing that information with the proper authorities, and when it can safely be made public, it will be.
00:17:34So today, we are launching something historic.
00:17:39The first national, survivor-led political movement in America.
00:17:45Nonpartisan, laser-focused, on exposing the systems, the loopholes, power structures, and silencing mechanisms that have protected predators for far too long.
00:17:58We are stepping directly into the halls of power, into the political arena.
00:18:08We will help rewrite laws that failed us and build protections for our nation's children together, targeted by sexual exploitation.
00:18:19Together, today, survivors begin our own fight.
00:18:25The survivor revolution.
00:18:28And we intend to change this nation for the better.
00:18:33If you're a survivor who wants to join us, please reach out.
00:18:39And to anyone who benefits from the current system, intentionally or not, remember this.
00:18:46Alone, yes, we are afraid.
00:18:49But together, we are feared.
00:18:58Hello, everybody.
00:19:00I am Jenna Lisa Jones.
00:19:02And just as Haley, I would just like to give a little reminder that this was me at 14 years old.
00:19:08I was a child.
00:19:10I was in ninth grade.
00:19:14I was hopeful for life and what the future had held for me.
00:19:20He stole a lot from me at 14.
00:19:24So, just a little reminder there for everybody.
00:19:27Sorry.
00:19:31So, I just want to start out by saying thank you for all of you for being here today.
00:19:40I want to start by expressing my deepest gratitude to the members of Congress who have stood with us, the survivors, and demanding the transparency and justice.
00:19:51Your support is a signal that this institution can still serve the American people.
00:19:56This issue was never one that should have divided us the way it has.
00:20:00In fact, it should have united us.
00:20:03Sexual abuse is not a Republican issue or a Democratic issue.
00:20:08It is also not a hoax.
00:20:11We are here as American survivors of a man who used his wealth and power to hurt young girls and women.
00:20:18The world should see the files to know who Jeffrey Epstein was and how the system catered to him and failed us.
00:20:26Emotionally, this process has been distressing.
00:20:28First, the administration said it would release everything and applauded President Trump for that.
00:20:34Then it fought to release nothing.
00:20:37Now that that checks and balances of our democracy have worked and the bill is getting passed to release the files,
00:20:47we are hearing the administration say they intend to investigate various Democrats who were friends with Epstein.
00:20:53I beg you, President Trump, please stop making this political.
00:20:57It is not about you, President Trump.
00:21:00You are our president.
00:21:02Please start acting like it.
00:21:04Show some class.
00:21:05Show some real leadership.
00:21:06Show that you actually care about the people other than yourself.
00:21:10I voted for you, but your behavior on this issue has been a national embarrassment.
00:21:16It is time to take the honest moral ground and support the release of these files, not to weaponize pieces of the files against random political enemies that did nothing wrong,
00:21:30but to understand who Epstein's friends were, who covered for him, what financial institutions allowed his trafficking to continue, who knew what he was doing, but was too much of a coward to do anything about it.
00:21:45Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were able to recruit and abuse young girls and women, then the country will learn nothing and has horrible history will create itself if we do not do something about this.
00:22:03Thank you to the brave congressmen and women who have stood by us and recognized our side is the American side, and we should all be proud once again to be Americans.
00:22:11I want to just extend my thank you so much to all three of you very, very much.
00:22:17The first time we were here, listening to the people yell shame at you, and when she was here in support of us, really hit home and spoke some volumes, and I just very much appreciate your support, and we stand by you.
00:22:32Don't let any of them bully you.
00:22:34We're here for you.
00:22:36Thank you, guys.
00:22:41Wow.
00:22:43Good morning, everyone.
00:22:44Thank you all so much for coming together today and taking the time to listen to us.
00:22:50Your presence means the world, and it shows commitment to understanding and supporting survivors and Americans.
00:22:57I stand before you today with a heavy heart.
00:23:00I originated from Brazil, and I came to the United States when I was eight years old.
00:23:06I was only 14 when I first encountered Jeffrey Epstein.
00:23:09And my daughter is now almost at that age.
00:23:13At 14, the only things she should be concerned with are going to school, practicing at her cheerleading competitions, and enjoying her time with her friends and family.
00:23:23She should not have to bear the burden of worrying about being manipulated or exploited.
00:23:28At this age, she is still a child, and no child should ever have to face such threats.
00:23:34I also want to address a troubling statement made by a prominent figure on a major platform who suggested that a 14-year-old should not be considered a victim of pedophilia.
00:23:48This is a dangerous and incorrect notion.
00:23:51When we talk about how children at 14 should still be treated as children, I ask you to look at the young people around you.
00:23:58Remember when you were that age?
00:24:00Do you think you should have been responsible for being groomed?
00:24:04Put yourselves in our position when we were young.
00:24:07I am here today not to just share my story, but to call on all of you to help make a difference.
00:24:14We need to support to push for the Transparacy Act and release the Epstein files.
00:24:18Please reach out to your Congress members and senators and urge them to support this crucial legislation.
00:24:24The truth is something that we all deserve, and it is vital for safety and protection of the future of generations.
00:24:32Think about all the young people in your life, your daughters, your nieces, your friends.
00:24:38Let's stand together and ensure that they grow up in a world where they are safe and valued.
00:24:44I often wondered, why did this happen to me?
00:24:48And then I realized, God only gives you what you can handle.
00:24:52I'm here for a purpose, and that purpose is to make a difference today.
00:24:58So, let's stand together to protect our children and our peace.
00:25:09Good morning.
00:25:16I want to say a few things before I begin.
00:25:18My speech may not be great.
00:25:20It was thrown together last minute as I only came here decided Friday when one of us, who has spoken several times, decided she couldn't come because of the threats.
00:25:35She was too scared.
00:25:37So, I want to say, when you threaten one of us, you're threatening all of us.
00:25:42Yep.
00:25:42We are together now, and that's never going to change.
00:25:49This is me at 16 when I met Jeffrey Epstein.
00:25:57Now, I'll start.
00:25:58It is an honor to stand here before the American people.
00:26:04However, I shouldn't have to stand here at all.
00:26:06I'm here because, as a child, I was pulled into Jeffrey Epstein's world, a world built on exploitation and manipulation of innocence and the protection of powerful men and women who believed that they were untouchable.
00:26:18Today, we'd rather be preparing for the holidays, we'd rather be at home with our families, baking with our children and decorating the Christmas tree, as we try to move past this horrific moment that has impacted our entire adult lives.
00:26:32However, that's not possible, because it's become something it should have never been, political and sensationalized.
00:26:43The truth is simple.
00:26:44We were victimized as children and failed repeatedly by the very system that was supposed to protect us.
00:26:50That's why we stand here today, to demand justice and accountability, not just for Epstein and his crimes, but for every predator and every enabler who participates in or protects abusers.
00:27:04The Epstein case was gravely mishandled consistently and deliberately over many years.
00:27:10Epstein could have been stopped decades ago, but instead, he was able to continue his abuse, even during his sweetheart deal.
00:27:16Yes, with his ankle monitor on and beyond.
00:27:20A deal that protected him and silenced us.
00:27:24While I was a child fighting to survive what happened to us, federal prosecutors were negotiating ways to shield powerful adults.
00:27:33And the failures didn't stop there.
00:27:35Our civil cases were met with hostile judges and delay tactics, intimidation, and PR campaigns designed to smear us in the public eye.
00:27:45We were treated as problems to be managed instead of victims to be protected.
00:27:50Today, something has changed.
00:27:57Individually, our voices were whispers.
00:27:59Together, they've become impossible to ignore.
00:28:02We are encouraged to see elected officials from both parties.
00:28:07Come together and finally take action to release the files.
00:28:10I'll leave it there.
00:28:15Good job.
00:28:17Yes, actually.
00:28:19Good morning.
00:28:23My name is Wendy, and I'm standing here today with a truth that still scares me to say out loud.
00:28:32I'm going to put this down because I can't hold both, as you guys saw.
00:28:35But that was me when I was 14 when I met Jeffrey Epstein.
00:28:40None of us here signed up for this political warfare.
00:28:44We never asked to be dragged into battles between people who never protected us in the first place.
00:28:50We are exhausted from surviving the trauma and then surviving the politics that swirl around it.
00:28:57When survivors travel to speak, to advocate, to stand for the truth, we do it with our own money, from our own pockets, carrying our own fear, shaking in our own bodies.
00:29:11There is no team.
00:29:13There is no paycheck.
00:29:14It's just us hoping our voices make a difference.
00:29:17And it puts a pit right in your stomach because you know you're standing on the right side of history.
00:29:23But standing on the right side of history is not a comfortable place to be.
00:29:27It never has been.
00:29:29And in a sick, heartbreaking way, it's an honor, an honor to show up, an honor to speak here, and an honor to stand in light where when the world tried to keep us in the dark.
00:29:41And what keeps me standing is, even with all this fear, I have a 14-year-old daughter myself, the same age I was.
00:29:49And when I look at her, I see the little girl I used to be, the one that no one protected.
00:29:55My greatest fear in this entire world is history repeating itself.
00:29:59And I will do anything, absolutely anything, to make sure that she has to never be one of these girls standing in front of a crowd like this today in her life.
00:30:11So today, from the safest and bravest places inside myself, I am asking Congress, please pass the bill.
00:30:20Please release the records.
00:30:23Stop making survivors fight alone for the truth that should have protected us in the first place.
00:30:30To the representatives that support us, thank you.
00:30:34Thank you for standing beside survivors so we don't have to face this fear alone.
00:30:39Thank you for choosing what is right over what is easy.
00:30:44And every survivor who is scared right now, your fear is real.
00:30:49Your courage is real.
00:30:50And even though we're terrified, we keep showing up.
00:30:54Because someone has to tell the truth.
00:30:56Someone has to protect these children.
00:30:59We deserve safety then.
00:31:01We deserve it now.
00:31:03Or we deserve it now.
00:31:04And we are done being afraid so others can stay comfortable.
00:31:08So with that, I want to say thank you guys for having us.
00:31:13And I just hope that people can remember that as survivors, our story never leaves us.
00:31:26But the choice that you make to pass this bill, your career is in front of you.
00:31:35And that choice will follow you.
00:31:36Everybody will know.
00:31:38So thank you.
00:31:39Good job.
00:31:41Well said.
00:31:43You're incredible.
00:31:45Hello, everybody.
00:31:47My name is Dani Benski.
00:31:48This was me at 17 years old.
00:32:00Coming from the dance world, I was recruited in 2004.
00:32:04After a systematic breaking down where Epstein leveraged my mother's brain tumor scans,
00:32:09he threatened me to withhold care for her.
00:32:12He trapped me in a year-long cycle of abuse.
00:32:14The last time I was here in Washington, D.C., I talked about being a part of this beautiful
00:32:20mosaic of women behind me.
00:32:22And they are exactly that.
00:32:23They are a beautiful mosaic of energy and passion and love and life.
00:32:29I am one story of a thousand.
00:32:32Think of that number.
00:32:33A thousand.
00:32:34I spoke of how big our hopes and dreams once were when I talked about how they were completely
00:32:41shattered at the hands of Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein.
00:32:46Now, I look at this amazing community behind me.
00:32:50They are Survivor Sisters.
00:32:52We are together.
00:32:53We stand together in this.
00:32:54And I realized that we are a representation of women across America.
00:32:59We come from different backgrounds.
00:33:03We have different religions.
00:33:05We are different races, different creeds, different ethnicities.
00:33:09We have different political affiliations.
00:33:11Some of us don't want to be political at all.
00:33:14And yet, we stand here together for this cause.
00:33:18We're united in the call for transparency, complete transparency, to find justice.
00:33:25Justice for our younger selves.
00:33:29These pictures that you see, they're real people.
00:33:32I wish I could go back and give my former self a hug and say, this matters and it's going
00:33:37to change and mean it.
00:33:42We are standing here for justice for the youth of tomorrow.
00:33:46And justice for those who are no longer with us, like the beautiful, brave Virginia Jufre.
00:33:51We understand that the road is long, but I implore you to stay the course, please.
00:34:00Living in an age where you can get news and 10-second clips on your phone, I know that
00:34:05this is a big task for us, but it's a very personal one for survivors.
00:34:10It's a very personal one for us as a country.
00:34:12So, I'd like to ask you to try something right now.
00:34:15I'd like everybody to close their eyes or soften their gaze just for a moment, and I
00:34:20want everybody to think of a child that is close to them between the ages of 14 and 18
00:34:24years old.
00:34:25It could be your daughter.
00:34:26It could be your niece.
00:34:27It could be a friend's kids.
00:34:29It could be you at a former age.
00:34:31It could be your mother at that age.
00:34:34But really envision that for a second, 14 to 18 years old.
00:34:39Once you think of that person, I want you to think about what they feel like.
00:34:42What is their energy?
00:34:42What do they smell like?
00:34:45What sound do they make when they laugh?
00:34:48Really think about that child just for a moment.
00:34:53Now, I want you to picture a pair of giant looming wooden doors and an overbearing marble
00:34:57landing.
00:34:58Those are the doors to Jeffrey Epstein's house.
00:35:01Do you allow that child to enter or not?
00:35:03If the answer is yes, you would allow entrance.
00:35:06You stand with predators.
00:35:07If the answer is no, then congratulations.
00:35:10You're on the right side of justice.
00:35:11Now, you have homework.
00:35:13I am calling for the American people.
00:35:16You have homework.
00:35:17Call your congressional leaders.
00:35:20Call your senators.
00:35:22Please support this bill.
00:35:24Let's get it all released.
00:35:25Thank you very much.
00:35:25Good morning.
00:35:39My name is Annie Farmer, and this is a photo of me and my sister, Maria Farmer, around the
00:35:45time I was 16 and she was 25.
00:35:48That's how old we were when we were abused by Epstein and Maxwell.
00:35:51Survivors have repeatedly stated that our pursuit of transparency and justice is a nonpartisan
00:35:58issue.
00:35:59But given the political noise surrounding this case, I just want to remind people of some
00:36:04of the facts.
00:36:04In 1996, when my sister, Maria, bravely blew the whistle on this group by reporting to the
00:36:12FBI what Epstein and Maxwell did to both of us, they hung up on the phone on her and there
00:36:18was no follow-up of any kind.
00:36:20Bill Clinton was president.
00:36:21In 2006, the FBI came to us, finally interviewed us, and asked us both to be witnesses against
00:36:28Epstein.
00:36:29We were very anxious, but we agreed.
00:36:32And then we didn't hear back from them due to their infamous sweetheart deal.
00:36:36George W. Bush was president.
00:36:38In 2015, when the DOJ was sent a FOIA request for Maria's FBI files and they were denied, as
00:36:46they have been many times, Barack Obama was president.
00:36:49In 2019, when Epstein died in prison due to either negligence or foul play, Donald Trump
00:36:56was president.
00:36:58In 2023, Maria's attorneys sent a letter on her behalf to the government requesting an
00:37:03investigation into the repeated law enforcement failures in this case, similar to what was
00:37:08done in the case of Larry Nassar.
00:37:10They declined to do so.
00:37:12Consequently, my sister filed notice that she would be suing the government for failing to
00:37:16uphold its legal, ethical, and moral duties in this case.
00:37:20Joe Biden was president.
00:37:23This year, after campaigning on a pledge to finally release the files, under Trump's second
00:37:28presidency, the DOJ announced they were closing the investigation into Epstein's co-conspirators
00:37:33and then transferred Ghislaine Maxwell into a prison camp, where it is well documented
00:37:38that she is receiving special treatment.
00:37:41This is not an issue of a few corrupt Democrats or a few corrupt Republicans.
00:37:47This is a case of institutional betrayal.
00:37:50Because these crimes were not properly investigated, so many more girls and women were harmed.
00:37:56My sister, because of her bravery, was repeatedly threatened and lived in fear, with dire consequences
00:38:03for her health and her career.
00:38:05Thirty years later, even as oceans of allegations and obvious truths have emerged, the government
00:38:11has still not chosen transparency.
00:38:12This is why we have all come together as one united voice to demand the release of all the
00:38:19Epstein files and to finally bring the truth out of the shadows.
00:38:22Yes.
00:38:24Beautiful.
00:38:24Beautiful.
00:38:26Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed members of Congress and everyone gathered here today,
00:38:48I want to start by thanking the three of you.
00:38:56It takes a lot of bravery to do what you're doing.
00:39:00We hear you.
00:39:01We see you.
00:39:02It means a lot for you to be here with us.
00:39:04And I know my sister would be incredibly proud.
00:39:06This is the moment she was fighting for and the moment that all survivors are fighting for.
00:39:10So, thank you.
00:39:13My name is Sky Roberts.
00:39:16And I stand before you as the brother of Virginia Roberts Jufre.
00:39:20A warrior, a mother, and a sister whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those
00:39:29who understand the fight against injustice.
00:39:33Today, we find ourselves in a place of deep sorrow, shattered by the loss of our beloved
00:39:39sister.
00:39:39Yet, we are honored and privileged to carry her voice forward and continue her relentless
00:39:48fight alongside her fellow survivor sisters.
00:39:51Virginia's story is one that should have been filled with promise, but instead, it became a harrowing tale of exploitation and survival.
00:40:03At just 16 years old, she took a job at Mar-a-Lago, believing she had secured a dream summer position.
00:40:15But that dream quickly morphed into a nightmare when Ghislaine Maxwell preyed upon her innocence.
00:40:20This isn't just the story of one girl.
00:40:24It's a story about the insidious nature of power and abuse, a dark chapter in our society that must be told.
00:40:34Virginia was no stranger to trauma.
00:40:37In her memoir, Nobody's Girl, she shares the painful truth that she had already suffered abuse at the hands of our father
00:40:44and a family friend.
00:40:51But what happened next was unfathomable.
00:40:54Epstein and Maxwell didn't just abuse her.
00:40:57They trafficked her to a network of the rich and powerful.
00:41:01Princes, prime ministers, politicians, financiers, and lawyers.
00:41:08These men committed unspeakable acts against her,
00:41:11against her will, and against the will of countless survivors who stand united with us today.
00:41:19Virginia's strength was tested in many ways
00:41:21that most of us can hardly imagine.
00:41:26She was manipulated, coerced, and threatened,
00:41:30forced into complicity in her own devastation.
00:41:34She often spoke of psychological scars that ran deeper than the physical ones.
00:41:38From the start, she wrote,
00:41:43They manipulated me into participating in behaviors that ate away at me,
00:41:48eroding my ability to comprehend reality, and preventing me from defending myself.
00:41:53The most destructive wound they inflicted was that of forced complicity,
00:41:58a betrayal of self that was crafted by her abusers.
00:42:02But I stand here today to declare that their tactics of fear and intimidation did not work.
00:42:12Virginia's spirit could not be broken.
00:42:14She became a beacon of hope,
00:42:17a warrior,
00:42:20fighting not just for herself, but for every survivor who suffered in silence.
00:42:26She said,
00:42:27I felt it was my duty to stand up to predators like Epstein and Maxwell.
00:42:33I would put my neck on the line to make sure my daughter never has to go through what I had to endure.
00:42:40These survivors, like Virginia, have transformed into mothers and strong women, fierce in the face of adversity.
00:42:51Many of them have daughters the same age they were when they faced their own abuse.
00:42:56They are determined to break the cycle,
00:42:59to shatter the silence that has kept so many in the shadows.
00:43:02Virginia quoted in her memoir,
00:43:06There I was,
00:43:08as the mother of three children,
00:43:10I felt it was my duty to stand up to predators like Epstein and Maxwell.
00:43:15I said,
00:43:16I mentioned to Ellie in particular,
00:43:19her daughter.
00:43:22I would put my neck on the line
00:43:24to make sure she never has to go through what I had to go through.
00:43:29I said,
00:43:31joining Edward's CVRA case,
00:43:34said I,
00:43:36what I would want somebody to do for my daughter or sister and friend.
00:43:41In the end,
00:43:41I said,
00:43:42I was just trying to do the right thing.
00:43:44That's what I felt like I'm doing,
00:43:46I said.
00:43:49I'm making a small dent
00:43:51in this big world
00:43:54we live in.
00:43:59Well,
00:44:02Sissy,
00:44:02you didn't just make a small dent.
00:44:12You made a monumental impact,
00:44:22a resounding statement
00:44:24that echoed across the world.
00:44:27You built an unbreakable wall,
00:44:30a barrier that will protect future generations
00:44:32from the horrors of abuse.
00:44:34As we gather here today,
00:44:37I urge each of you,
00:44:39members of Congress,
00:44:40advocates,
00:44:42and all those who hear this message
00:44:43to join us in this fight.
00:44:45We demand justice,
00:44:47accountability,
00:44:48and support for survivors.
00:44:50And we keep getting asked this,
00:44:52what does justice mean,
00:44:54you ask?
00:44:55It starts with acknowledgement.
00:44:57That's the first step.
00:44:59Acknowledge in the face of survivors
00:45:01that this happened
00:45:02and that this is true.
00:45:04Your vote carries that weight.
00:45:07My sister is not a political tool
00:45:10for you to use.
00:45:12These survivors are not political tools
00:45:14for you to use.
00:45:16These are real stories,
00:45:18real trauma,
00:45:19and it's time for you to stop
00:45:21just talking about it
00:45:22and act.
00:45:23Vote yes.
00:45:25Yes.
00:45:26Yes.
00:45:26Yes.
00:45:26Yes.
00:45:27Yes.
00:45:27Yes.
00:45:27Yes.
00:45:28Yes.
00:45:28Yes.
00:45:28Yes.
00:45:28Yes.
00:45:29Yes.
00:45:29Yes.
00:45:30Yes.
00:45:30Yes.
00:45:31Yes.
00:45:32Virginia's legacy is not just hers.
00:45:34It belongs to all of us
00:45:36who stand against injustice.
00:45:38Together,
00:45:39we will ensure
00:45:39that the voices of survivors
00:45:40are heard,
00:45:41that the truth prevails,
00:45:43and that the horrors of the past
00:45:44are never repeated.
00:45:47Thank you for listening,
00:45:49and thank you for standing with us.
00:45:51Together,
00:45:51we will not let Virginia's fight
00:45:53be in vain.
00:45:54Together,
00:45:55we will not let the predators win.
00:45:57Together,
00:45:57we will be the change
00:45:58this world desperately needs.
00:46:07That was so beautiful.
00:46:14This is me
00:46:15when I met Jeffrey Epstein
00:46:17in 1991.
00:46:19I always share the date
00:46:22when I talk about my story
00:46:23because people rarely,
00:46:25rarely acknowledge
00:46:27how long this has actually been going on.
00:46:32And for too long,
00:46:34truth has been buried,
00:46:36survivors have been silenced,
00:46:37and powerful people have been protected.
00:46:39And today,
00:46:41we stand in a moment
00:46:42that will decide
00:46:43whether our government
00:46:44still belongs
00:46:45to the American people
00:46:46or to those who prey on them.
00:46:51Because when mountains of evidence
00:46:53and decades of victim reports
00:46:55across five administrations
00:46:57still lead to sweetheart deals
00:46:59or no prosecution
00:47:00at all,
00:47:02this isn't just one case
00:47:05gone wrong.
00:47:08It's an institutional failure
00:47:10on a historic scale,
00:47:12and every member of Congress
00:47:13in this administration
00:47:14must answer for that failure.
00:47:15Millions of sexual abuse survivors
00:47:19know the pain of speaking up
00:47:21and watching the institutions
00:47:22that are meant
00:47:23to protect them look away.
00:47:25We're not alone in this.
00:47:28Epstein may be the headline,
00:47:30but the betrayal
00:47:31reaches every corner
00:47:32of our country.
00:47:35And if our justice system
00:47:37can collapse
00:47:39this completely
00:47:41for so long,
00:47:43then Congress
00:47:44cannot pretend
00:47:45that the system
00:47:47is working.
00:47:48Not for us,
00:47:50and not for the generations
00:47:52that will live
00:47:53with the consequences
00:47:54of what they choose now.
00:47:57One long overdue step
00:48:00towards repairing this damage
00:48:01is the Epstein Files
00:48:03Transparency Act.
00:48:05Because without transparency,
00:48:07there's no accountability.
00:48:09Without accountability,
00:48:10there is no justice.
00:48:12And without justice,
00:48:13democracy dies.
00:48:18So, representatives,
00:48:19you have a choice
00:48:20to show millions of Americans
00:48:23whether you stand with us
00:48:24or with the powerful predators
00:48:29that are counting
00:48:30on your complicity.
00:48:32Good morning.
00:48:46This is me.
00:48:48This was me.
00:48:51My name is Charlene Rochard,
00:48:53and I stand before you today
00:48:57not as a victim
00:48:58of rumor or conspiracy,
00:49:01but as a survivor
00:49:02of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse.
00:49:06Far too long,
00:49:08survivors like me
00:49:09have been dismissed,
00:49:12silenced,
00:49:13are told
00:49:13that our pain
00:49:15was exaggerated
00:49:16or fabricated.
00:49:18let me be clear.
00:49:22This is not a hoax.
00:49:24Yes, it's not.
00:49:25What we endured
00:49:27was real,
00:49:30and it has scarred lives
00:49:32across five
00:49:33presidential administrations.
00:49:37The truth
00:49:39has been buried
00:49:40in sealed files
00:49:41and hidden records
00:49:42for far too long.
00:49:45The Epstein Files
00:49:47Transparency Act
00:49:48is not just about survivors.
00:49:52It's about America itself.
00:49:55How can we keep America great
00:49:58if the principles
00:50:00the nation was founded on
00:50:01that power belongs
00:50:03to the people
00:50:04is not protected?
00:50:07No one,
00:50:08no matter how wealthy
00:50:10and well-connected,
00:50:11stands above the law.
00:50:13If we cannot face the truth,
00:50:15then we betray
00:50:16the very ideals
00:50:17that defines us
00:50:18as a country.
00:50:21By passing this act,
00:50:23Congress has the chance
00:50:24to prove that truth
00:50:25matters more
00:50:26than privilege,
00:50:27that justice matters
00:50:29more than influence,
00:50:32and that America
00:50:34has the courage
00:50:34to confront
00:50:35even the most
00:50:36uncomfortable realities.
00:50:40This is not just
00:50:42about survivors.
00:50:44It's about every American
00:50:45who believes
00:50:46in accountability,
00:50:48fairness,
00:50:50and the promise
00:50:51of justice.
00:50:52I stand here today
00:50:55not only for myself,
00:50:57but for every survivor
00:50:59of Jeffrey Epstein's abuse
00:51:00who has carried
00:51:02this burden
00:51:02in silence
00:51:03and for every citizen
00:51:05who believes
00:51:07that justice delayed
00:51:10is justice denied.
00:51:12I want to thank
00:51:15representatives Roe Khanna
00:51:17and Thomas Massey
00:51:19for standing with us.
00:51:21And I especially
00:51:24want to thank
00:51:25Representative Marjorie Taylor Green.
00:51:30Her unwavering support,
00:51:33her courage
00:51:34to stand with us
00:51:35and demand transparency
00:51:37gives us strength.
00:51:41It shows that
00:51:43this fight
00:51:43for accountability
00:51:44is bigger
00:51:45than politics.
00:51:47It's about
00:51:48humanity,
00:51:50justice,
00:51:50and truth.
00:51:53This is about
00:51:54America's future.
00:51:57It's about
00:51:57whether we,
00:51:58the people,
00:51:59will be heard
00:52:00when we have
00:52:00the courage
00:52:01to stand for
00:52:01truth and justice.
00:52:03Our voices
00:52:05are real.
00:52:08Our pain
00:52:09is real.
00:52:11And our demand
00:52:11for justice
00:52:12will not
00:52:13be silenced.
00:52:16Amen.
00:52:18Girl,
00:52:19show to me.
00:52:20Hello.
00:52:22Good for you,
00:52:23girl.
00:52:24You did amazing.
00:52:29My name
00:52:30is Laura Bloom
00:52:31McGee.
00:52:31This is my first
00:52:33time speaking
00:52:34publicly about
00:52:35my abuse.
00:52:36As a young
00:52:37woman in New York
00:52:38City,
00:52:39I was pursuing
00:52:39a modeling career
00:52:40and building a life
00:52:42of giving back
00:52:42through my
00:52:43philanthropic work.
00:52:44Instead,
00:52:45I was intentionally
00:52:45groomed and became
00:52:46part of an
00:52:47international model
00:52:48sex trafficking
00:52:49ring that was
00:52:51led by Jeffrey Epstein.
00:52:53I was sexually
00:52:53and mentally
00:52:54abused by Jeffrey
00:52:55Epstein.
00:52:56He used my dreams
00:52:57and vulnerabilities
00:52:58to silence me.
00:53:00Today,
00:53:01I am here
00:53:02to break
00:53:02that silence.
00:53:04Sex trafficking
00:53:05and sexual abuse
00:53:06are crimes
00:53:07against human beings.
00:53:10Not political
00:53:11talking points.
00:53:13For too long,
00:53:14Epstein's abuse
00:53:15was an open secret
00:53:16with his network
00:53:17remained protected.
00:53:19Evil thrives
00:53:20in darkness.
00:53:21We must shine a light
00:53:22on every corner
00:53:23where it hides.
00:53:25Nothing should be
00:53:25off limits
00:53:26in the search
00:53:26for truth.
00:53:28Please vote
00:53:29that everything
00:53:30in the files
00:53:30be released.
00:53:32Let investigations
00:53:33proceed without
00:53:34obstruction.
00:53:36Demand oversight
00:53:36and deliver justice.
00:53:38The government
00:53:39must never side
00:53:40with predators.
00:53:42I come as one
00:53:44survivor,
00:53:44but I stand here
00:53:45for everyone
00:53:46who prayed for me,
00:53:47who believed in me,
00:53:48and who hoped for me.
00:53:49To my fellow survivors,
00:53:51your courage
00:53:52brought me here.
00:53:53We are more
00:53:54than victims.
00:53:55We are mothers,
00:53:55daughters,
00:53:56sisters,
00:53:57friends.
00:53:57This is not a hoax
00:53:58and we will not
00:53:59be erased.
00:54:00Shame on any
00:54:01elected official
00:54:02who obstructs truth
00:54:04and justice
00:54:04for the American people.
00:54:06My name is Liz Stein.
00:54:15In 1994,
00:54:17I was a senior
00:54:18in college,
00:54:19just 21 years old.
00:54:22I had aspirations
00:54:23of attending law school
00:54:24after graduation
00:54:26and it looked like
00:54:27I had a bright future
00:54:28ahead of me.
00:54:301994 was also
00:54:32the year I met
00:54:33Ghislaine Maxwell
00:54:34and Jeffrey Epstein.
00:54:35My involvement
00:54:37with them
00:54:37changed the trajectory
00:54:39of my entire life.
00:54:42The Epstein files
00:54:44are not about loyalty
00:54:45to any one
00:54:46political party.
00:54:48They're evidence
00:54:49of a crime.
00:54:51We stand here today
00:54:53victims of the crime
00:54:55of sex trafficking.
00:54:58I'm here today
00:54:59speaking both
00:55:00for my 21-year-old self
00:55:02and for the countless
00:55:04number of people
00:55:06who have experienced
00:55:07sexual violence.
00:55:12When I am asked
00:55:13what I would tell
00:55:14my younger self
00:55:15if I could say something,
00:55:17I say that I would
00:55:18tell myself
00:55:20to tell someone.
00:55:22And if they don't listen,
00:55:24to tell someone else.
00:55:26And to just keep telling
00:55:28until someone listens.
00:55:29And even if nobody
00:55:32listens to you,
00:55:33you should be proud
00:55:34of yourself
00:55:35because you stood
00:55:36in your uncomfortable
00:55:38truth when others
00:55:39could not.
00:55:42And that is
00:55:43true bravery.
00:55:45We stand here
00:55:47today as survivors,
00:55:49part of a sorority
00:55:51that none of us
00:55:51asked to join.
00:55:52We have told
00:55:54our stories
00:55:55over and over
00:55:57and over.
00:55:59Now it's time
00:56:00to see who was listening.
00:56:02We ask
00:56:03that you vote
00:56:04to release the files,
00:56:06all of them,
00:56:07so the victims
00:56:08of this crime
00:56:08can finally see justice.
00:56:11Amen.
00:56:13Good girl.
00:56:14Well, hello, everyone.
00:56:25And I want to first
00:56:27say thank you
00:56:28for your ongoing leadership.
00:56:32I know it must not
00:56:33be easy thing to do,
00:56:36much like it's not easy
00:56:38for us to be doing this.
00:56:39So I guess we're
00:56:40in this together.
00:56:41So thank you so much.
00:56:42I feel like our courage
00:56:45has, you know,
00:56:46we're reflecting,
00:56:46mirroring courage
00:56:47because that's what
00:56:48it takes to do this, right?
00:56:50So this was me
00:56:52at 22 years old.
00:56:55I was not a child,
00:56:57technically.
00:56:59Very young adult.
00:57:01I imagine most of you here
00:57:03can relate to
00:57:04the mindset
00:57:06and to be 22 years old.
00:57:09So today
00:57:12is a good day
00:57:13and I thank God
00:57:14for that.
00:57:17It's widely
00:57:18and undeniably
00:57:20political,
00:57:21clear
00:57:22that our
00:57:23current
00:57:25political climate
00:57:26is quite rigid
00:57:27and seemingly
00:57:29at war
00:57:30with one another.
00:57:31this sets
00:57:35a stage
00:57:36this sets
00:57:39a stage
00:57:40for voices
00:57:41survivor voices
00:57:43to get spoken
00:57:44over
00:57:45and drowned
00:57:47out
00:57:47by the political
00:57:50darts
00:57:51whizzing by.
00:57:53Not today
00:57:55though.
00:57:55So
00:57:55today
00:57:58our truth
00:57:59and our power
00:58:00have steadily
00:58:02risen up.
00:58:04We're at the peak.
00:58:09Our voices
00:58:10prevail today.
00:58:14Our voices
00:58:15initiated
00:58:16the coming together
00:58:18of both
00:58:19political parties.
00:58:21That's pretty big
00:58:23I think.
00:58:25Republicans
00:58:26and Democrats
00:58:27we all stand
00:58:29together
00:58:30today.
00:58:32We all stand
00:58:33together
00:58:33for justice
00:58:34and we must
00:58:36continue to do
00:58:37so
00:58:37to protect
00:58:38the integrity
00:58:39of our country
00:58:41and our democracy.
00:58:43Truth
00:58:44and justice
00:58:45must prevail.
00:58:47The children
00:58:47today
00:58:48are those
00:58:49that will lead
00:58:50this nation
00:58:51one day.
00:58:52Think about that.
00:58:54What does that
00:58:54mean to each
00:58:55of you?
00:58:56If anyone
00:58:59doubts
00:58:59that this
00:59:00does not
00:59:01directly
00:59:02contribute
00:59:03to the fate
00:59:05of our country
00:59:06and democracy
00:59:07I challenge
00:59:09you
00:59:09and I urge
00:59:11you
00:59:11to think
00:59:11again.
00:59:14Our voices
00:59:15are a
00:59:16fundamental
00:59:17pillar
00:59:18of future
00:59:19generations.
00:59:20today
00:59:24that's
00:59:24what we
00:59:25stand
00:59:25here
00:59:25for
00:59:26accountability
00:59:28action
00:59:30and justice.
00:59:34Let's
00:59:35get this
00:59:35vote
00:59:36done
00:59:36today.
00:59:39Let's
00:59:40send it
00:59:40through the
00:59:41Senate
00:59:41and
00:59:43straight
00:59:44to
00:59:44President
00:59:45Trump's
00:59:46desk
00:59:46for signing.
00:59:47I'd
00:59:49like to
00:59:50be there
00:59:50that day
00:59:51that he
00:59:51signs.
00:59:52I'm sure
00:59:52all of us
00:59:53would like
00:59:54to be
00:59:54there.
00:59:59Today
00:59:59is a good
01:00:00day
01:00:01and let's
01:00:03keep moving
01:00:03forward.
01:00:05Thank you
01:00:05so much.
01:00:06I want to give
01:00:06you a hug.
01:00:07Hey guys,
01:00:10we're actually
01:00:11pressed for
01:00:11time,
01:00:12so we
01:00:12are not
01:00:13going to
01:00:13be taking
01:00:14questions.
01:00:15Going
01:00:15further,
01:00:16I bring
01:00:16back
01:00:16Ro Khanna.
01:00:17He's
01:00:17going to
01:00:18do
01:00:18closing
01:00:18conversation
01:00:19and
01:00:20comments.
01:00:21Thank
01:00:21you,
01:00:22Haley.
01:00:23Teresa
01:00:23is right.
01:00:25It's
01:00:25pretty
01:00:25big
01:00:26what
01:00:26the
01:00:27survivors
01:00:27have
01:00:27accomplished
01:00:28today.
01:00:29I just
01:00:30want to
01:00:31say
01:00:32how
01:00:32eloquent,
01:00:34strong,
01:00:35and
01:00:35admirable
01:00:36they were.
01:00:37Let's give
01:00:37them a round
01:00:38of applause
01:00:38for their
01:00:39courage.
01:00:43Thomas and
01:00:44Marjorie and
01:00:44I will take
01:00:45a few
01:00:45questions from
01:00:46people.
01:00:47Go ahead.
01:01:01That's
01:01:02been a red
01:01:02herring all
01:01:03along.
01:01:04The survivors
01:01:05have always
01:01:05been in
01:01:06favor of
01:01:06this
01:01:06legislation
01:01:07and
01:01:07there's
01:01:08a provision
01:01:08in there
01:01:09you can
01:01:09read
01:01:09if he
01:01:10would
01:01:10just
01:01:10read
01:01:11it
01:01:11that
01:01:11protects
01:01:12them.
01:01:13Now,
01:01:13if he
01:01:13wants to
01:01:14offer
01:01:14more
01:01:15protections
01:01:15in the
01:01:16Senate,
01:01:16that's fine
01:01:17with us,
01:01:18but here's
01:01:18the problem.
01:01:19Now we
01:01:19have to
01:01:20vote on
01:01:20it again
01:01:20in the
01:01:21House.
01:01:21And so,
01:01:22as you
01:01:22heard,
01:01:22justice
01:01:23delayed is
01:01:23justice
01:01:24denied.
01:01:25It could
01:01:25be just
01:01:26another
01:01:26delay
01:01:26tactic.
01:01:27Is that
01:01:29what you
01:01:29think?
01:01:29That's the
01:01:29motivation?
01:01:30I think
01:01:31the
01:01:31Speaker wants
01:01:33to save
01:01:34face.
01:01:34He's going
01:01:34to vote
01:01:35for a piece
01:01:35of legislation
01:01:36today that
01:01:37he's disparaged
01:01:37for four
01:01:38months.
01:01:39And however
01:01:40he needs to
01:01:41come on
01:01:41board,
01:01:42we want
01:01:43him on
01:01:43board.
01:01:43So we
01:01:44appreciate
01:01:45that.
01:01:45Do you
01:01:47want to
01:01:47go ahead?
01:01:48Go ahead.
01:01:49I wonder,
01:01:50what do you
01:01:50say today
01:01:51to Andrew
01:01:52Macbassian
01:01:53once a man
01:01:53formerly
01:01:54known as
01:01:55Prince
01:01:55Andrew?
01:01:56Well,
01:01:58you know,
01:01:58there's
01:01:58becoming a
01:01:59reckoning in
01:02:00Britain that
01:02:01needs to
01:02:01happen in
01:02:02the United
01:02:02States.
01:02:03A prince
01:02:04lost his
01:02:04title.
01:02:05The
01:02:05ambassador
01:02:06to the
01:02:06United
01:02:07States
01:02:07lost his
01:02:08job.
01:02:09We need
01:02:09to see
01:02:09those same
01:02:10kind of
01:02:10consequences
01:02:11here.
01:02:11As my
01:02:12colleague
01:02:12Roe said,
01:02:13there shouldn't
01:02:13be buildings
01:02:14named after
01:02:15these
01:02:15perpetrators
01:02:16of these
01:02:16heinous
01:02:17crimes.
01:02:17There
01:02:17shouldn't
01:02:17be
01:02:18scholarships
01:02:18named
01:02:19after
01:02:19them.
01:02:20And
01:02:20there
01:02:20needs
01:02:20to
01:02:20be
01:02:20accounting.
01:02:22We've
01:02:22seen
01:02:22tens of
01:02:23thousands
01:02:24of pages
01:02:24released
01:02:25by the
01:02:26Oversight
01:02:26Committee.
01:02:27What we've
01:02:27not seen
01:02:28is a
01:02:28single
01:02:28name.
01:02:30So I
01:02:30implore you
01:02:31to look
01:02:32and see
01:02:33if we
01:02:33have true
01:02:34justice
01:02:34and
01:02:35transparency
01:02:35here.
01:02:36And the
01:02:36survivors,
01:02:37the
01:02:37survivors will
01:02:38know when
01:02:39that has
01:02:39happened.
01:02:39And I
01:02:40do think
01:02:40that Prince
01:02:41Andrew does
01:02:42need to
01:02:42come and
01:02:43testify at
01:02:43our
01:02:44Oversight
01:02:44Committee
01:02:44and that
01:02:45can be
01:02:45bipartisan.
01:02:46But I
01:02:46share
01:02:47Thomas's
01:02:48view that
01:02:48the
01:02:49urgency
01:02:49that the
01:02:50British
01:02:50people have
01:02:51shown
01:02:51in getting
01:02:53justice
01:02:53needs to
01:02:54inspire an
01:02:55urgency here
01:02:56in America.
01:02:57Go ahead.
01:02:58Go ahead.
01:03:00Go ahead.
01:03:01You don't need
01:03:01legislation to
01:03:03get the
01:03:04files released.
01:03:05President Trump
01:03:05could just
01:03:06release them.
01:03:07Is that
01:03:07frustrating?
01:03:08Why is he doing
01:03:09that?
01:03:09And also, did
01:03:10you ask him to be
01:03:11here today?
01:03:12It's a really
01:03:12powerful moment.
01:03:13Look, I'll let my
01:03:15colleagues speak.
01:03:15I hope the
01:03:16president meets the
01:03:17survivors.
01:03:18And I hope when he
01:03:19signs the bill, the
01:03:20survivors are there.
01:03:21I don't care if I'm
01:03:22there, Thomas Massey,
01:03:23there are
01:03:23representative Greens
01:03:24there, but the
01:03:25survivors should be
01:03:25there.
01:03:26But I hope he
01:03:28meets them.
01:03:28Because I think if
01:03:29anyone who meets
01:03:30them and sees their
01:03:31emotion will be
01:03:33moved.
01:03:34And my goal is to
01:03:35get justice here.
01:03:36So I hope he will
01:03:37meet them and really
01:03:39hear what's happened
01:03:40and actually take
01:03:42action.
01:03:42But the broader
01:03:43point is, yes, the
01:03:44president could order
01:03:45the Justice Department
01:03:46to release the
01:03:47files.
01:03:47But in a
01:03:48constitutional
01:03:49democracy, what
01:03:50we're supposed to
01:03:50have is Congress
01:03:51says that the
01:03:52files should be
01:03:53released.
01:03:53And then it's
01:03:54not on the
01:03:54whim of any
01:03:55president, then the
01:03:56Justice Department
01:03:56is compelled to
01:03:58release those files
01:03:59because that's the
01:03:59law of the land.
01:04:00Let's just take it.
01:04:01Yeah.
01:04:02Have you spoken to any
01:04:03Republicans in the
01:04:04Senate who are looking
01:04:05to move this forward?
01:04:08So Senator Merkley is a
01:04:09Democrat.
01:04:10He's led the exact same
01:04:11legislation that Roe and
01:04:12I introduced in the
01:04:13House.
01:04:14One Republican
01:04:15co-sponsored his bill
01:04:16yesterday.
01:04:17And I have spoken to at
01:04:19least one more who says
01:04:20they will co-sponsor.
01:04:21The important thing about
01:04:23the Senate is that they
01:04:25need not to muck this
01:04:27bill up.
01:04:28There's a lot of
01:04:29attention on here.
01:04:30We've needlessly spent
01:04:32four months dragging this
01:04:33out.
01:04:34A representative, a duly
01:04:35elected representative,
01:04:36was denied her seat in
01:04:38Congress for 49 days.
01:04:40And it's time to pull the
01:04:41Band-Aid off.
01:04:43The Senate, you know, it
01:04:44may be tempting for them
01:04:45to get cute and to do
01:04:47things that will limit the
01:04:49release of these
01:04:50documents.
01:04:51They are afraid that
01:04:52people will be embarrassed.
01:04:54Well, that's the whole
01:04:54point here.
01:04:56They need to be brought to
01:04:57justice.
01:04:58And embarrassment is no
01:04:59reason to stop it.
01:05:00So the Senate, John Thune,
01:05:02it's up to him.
01:05:03He needs to bring this to
01:05:04the floor of the Senate.
01:05:06And I think the vote today
01:05:08will show that in the
01:05:09House.
01:05:10And the President, look,
01:05:11the President has said he
01:05:12would sign the bill.
01:05:13You're going to get almost a
01:05:14unanimous vote here.
01:05:15So you have the President
01:05:16and a unanimous Congress
01:05:18believing that this protects
01:05:20the survivors and is calling
01:05:23for the release.
01:05:24There's no reason for the
01:05:25Senate now to, as
01:05:27Representative Massey puts in,
01:05:29muck around with it.
01:05:30They need to put it up,
01:05:31have a vote, have the
01:05:32President sign it.
01:05:34If there's any further
01:05:35protections, they can do
01:05:36that through the DOJ process.
01:05:39But what they should not do is
01:05:40delay a vote on a bill that
01:05:42the House is going to vote
01:05:43overwhelmingly for and that
01:05:45the President supports.
01:05:46I only take people's
01:06:02actions seriously.
01:06:05No longer words.
01:06:07And I'll tell you, because
01:06:09I wasn't a Johnny come
01:06:12lately to the MAGA train.
01:06:14I was day one 2015.
01:06:16And there's a big difference
01:06:17in those Americans and those
01:06:19that decided to support
01:06:22President Trump later on.
01:06:23And I'll tell you right now,
01:06:24this has been one of the
01:06:26most destructive things to
01:06:29MAGA is watching the man
01:06:33that we supported early on
01:06:36three elections for people
01:06:39that stood hours, slept in their
01:06:42cars to go to rallies, have
01:06:46fought for truth and
01:06:47transparency and to hold what
01:06:50we consider a corrupt
01:06:52government accountable.
01:06:54Watching this actually turn
01:06:56into a fight has ripped MAGA
01:06:59apart.
01:06:59And the only thing that will
01:07:03speak to the powerful,
01:07:07courageous women behind me is
01:07:09when action is actually taken
01:07:12to release these files and the
01:07:14American people won't tolerate
01:07:16any other bullshit.
01:07:18That's where we are today.
01:07:20Go ahead.
01:07:21Last two more questions and
01:07:23then we're around all day.
01:07:24Is this a watershed?
01:07:25How would you sum up today
01:07:27in terms of your battle to get
01:07:28to the truth?
01:07:30I would say that these
01:07:32survivors have been fighting
01:07:33for decades and they finally
01:07:35are being heard by the
01:07:37American people.
01:07:38And we're finally going to have
01:07:40a reckoning for this Epstein
01:07:42class that has gotten away
01:07:44with horrific things.
01:07:46Look, I grew up in Bucks
01:07:49County, Pennsylvania.
01:07:50People went to church.
01:07:51They played Little League.
01:07:52They went to their neighbors
01:07:53for barbecue.
01:07:54They didn't go to a rape
01:07:56island and abuse young girls
01:07:58or traffic young girls.
01:07:59And people with extreme
01:08:00wealth have thought that the
01:08:02laws don't apply to them and
01:08:04their culture is totally out of
01:08:05touch with the values that
01:08:06built America.
01:08:07And finally we're going to have
01:08:08a reckoning already.
01:08:10Let's take the lady here.
01:08:11Let me ask you this.
01:08:12You said you wanted this to go
01:08:13straight to the Senate.
01:08:14What message does it send to
01:08:16the survivors behind you if
01:08:17the Senate doesn't act quickly
01:08:18to move this forward?
01:08:21Well, they're not here.
01:08:22They're not going to answer
01:08:23questions, so I'll answer a
01:08:25question.
01:08:26I prefer actually it goes
01:08:28straight to the president.
01:08:29He can release these files
01:08:30without the Senate acting.
01:08:32Sometimes they take a long time
01:08:33to get things done.
01:08:35The House figured out for
01:08:36for a way to take four months
01:08:38to get this done.
01:08:39I think it's disrespectful to
01:08:41the survivors if they delay
01:08:43this.
01:08:43There's nothing more important
01:08:45than cleaning out the rot in
01:08:48this country.
01:08:49And this is rot.
01:08:50And it's not a partisan issue.
01:08:52And the senators need to get on
01:08:54this.
01:08:54Yes, the economy is important.
01:08:56Yes, international policy is
01:08:59important.
01:08:59But there's nothing more
01:09:00important than getting to this
01:09:01rot and cleaning it out.
01:09:03They should put it at the top of
01:09:04their agenda.
01:09:05There's a commission in the bill
01:09:06already that would allow the DOJ
01:09:08to not release certain information
01:09:10if it would jeopardize an active
01:09:11investigation.
01:09:11And the president just last week
01:09:13ordered his DOJ to conduct an
01:09:14investigation.
01:09:15What makes you think you would
01:09:16actually, if this bill passes, see
01:09:19these files?
01:09:19There are a thousand survivors.
01:09:23They can't open enough investigations
01:09:25to cover up everything that's in
01:09:27these files.
01:09:28And yes, it's true, they can try to
01:09:30protect a few certain people or a few
01:09:31certain companies.
01:09:33But those investigations will
01:09:34eventually end.
01:09:35And in the meantime, there's not
01:09:37enough investigations to cover up a
01:09:40thousand different crimes, a thousand
01:09:41different rapes, a thousand different
01:09:43sex trafficking instances.
01:09:44And this is not a moot point, even
01:09:47though they are doing that.
01:09:49Once this bill is signed into law,
01:09:52any career official at the DOJ or the
01:09:55FBI who does not comply with the law
01:09:57is at legal risk.
01:09:59It's no longer just up to the
01:10:01president.
01:10:01Look, we could have passed a simple
01:10:04resolution here in the House, and that
01:10:05would have been the end of it.
01:10:07Instead, we chose a very hard path,
01:10:09which is to get legislation, a law
01:10:12passed, which means it has to go to
01:10:13the House, the Senate, and be
01:10:15presented to the president.
01:10:16And that will have the force of law.
01:10:19They will be breaking the law if they
01:10:20do not release these files.
01:10:22Thank you very much.
01:10:24Last question, and then...
01:10:25Why do you think he has fought so
01:10:27hard?
01:10:28If he could do it now, why hasn't he
01:10:30done it?
01:10:31I believe he's trying to protect
01:10:34friends and donors.
01:10:35And by the way, these aren't
01:10:36necessarily Republicans.
01:10:39Once you get to a billion dollars,
01:10:41you transcend parties.
01:10:43You just assume you can pay off
01:10:45whatever party is in charge of the
01:10:47White House, whatever party is in
01:10:49charge of the House of Representatives.
01:10:51And this is about those kinds of
01:10:54people.
01:10:54I think he's been trying to protect
01:10:56them, and I think it also incriminates
01:10:58our own government.
01:11:00This is a complete and total failure of
01:11:02the justice system, as the survivors
01:11:04have witnessed here today to us.
01:11:07It incriminates the FBI.
01:11:09It incriminates our intelligence
01:11:11agencies.
01:11:12It incriminates police departments in West Palm Beach.
01:11:16And that's what has been protected by this,
01:11:19either willfully or unknowingly, and it's time to end it.
01:11:23And I would agree with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene that what matters now is just
01:11:27the action.
01:11:29I don't speculate on what politicians' motives are or what's in their heart.
01:11:32The point is the American people have spoken, Congress has spoken, release the files.
01:11:37It's time for justice.
01:11:38Thank you very much.
