00:00What happens when you rekindle this old flame? What does it mean for your current situation?
00:04You know, you got to be responsible enough to deal with that. It's going to turn you into a man.
00:12I'm very rough with Essence. How are you doing today?
00:14I'm doing well. How are you doing?
00:15I'm doing well. Thanks for taking the time to speak to me today.
00:18I did just want to ask you, you know, season one, Ian became kind of a fan favorite character.
00:23Everybody's really rooting for him and Camille to get together.
00:25And now in season two, we kind of get to see the fallout slash aftermath of that kiss at the finale,
00:32which is giving Ian a little bit more of an expanded role.
00:35We're seeing more of his individual story.
00:38What are you most excited for fans to see from Ian and from you this season?
00:43I would say I'm most excited about seeing or y'all seeing him grow into a man.
00:48You know, in season one, I like to look at him like I call him like Ian the Dreamer.
00:52You know, he had these great ideas of, you know, rekindling the old flame,
00:59bringing a piece of Paris into Harlem through his restaurant, introducing that fine French cuisine.
01:06And these are great ideas, but it's like, you know, all right, what happens when you rekindle this old flame?
01:11What does it mean for your current situation?
01:13You know, you got to be responsible enough to deal with that.
01:14It's going to turn you into a man.
01:15You know, yeah, all right, cool.
01:18We opened up the restaurant, brought it back to Harlem, and now people are looking at it like, you know,
01:23one of our own are helping to gentrify it.
01:25You know what I'm saying?
01:25You got to deal with that now.
01:27So it's like, you know, you see him be responsible enough to, again, grow into a man.
01:30So I'm excited for y'all to see that, for sure.
01:33Also this season, from what I've been able to see so far,
01:36you're getting to flex a little bit more of your comedic muscles,
01:39and there's a lot of, like, physical comedy and things that you're kind of stepping into.
01:43Do you have a favorite scene?
01:44I mean, of course, as far as you can go without giving spoilers.
01:47That was really fun for you to film this season.
01:50Yeah, for sure.
01:51We had a couple scenes.
01:53We had one scene where, you know, Ian and Camille are trying some new things out in the bedroom,
01:59and they, you know, they're getting a little, they're a little under the influence,
02:02and it's just, it was just so fun to film.
02:05And like you said, I get to kind of, you know, stretch that comedic muscle a little bit as an artist,
02:10and, you know, that was fun to do.
02:11But there's another scene where, you know, Ian and Camille are teaching Shaniqua's character how to ride a bike.
02:20And, you know, there's some physical comedy in there, too.
02:22And you just get to, you know, outside of it being fun,
02:25you get to see their relationship redefine itself and mean something else.
02:30You know what I'm saying?
02:31So I'm just really excited for y'all to see how that transpires, for sure.
02:35Awesome.
02:35And we're so excited, too.
02:36And thank you once again for taking the time to speak to me.
02:39Of course.
02:39I appreciate you.
