00:00Kids need superheroes.
00:02We grew up, you know, I grew up watching superheroes
00:05or reading about superheroes in comic books.
00:08And, yeah, none of them looked like me at the time,
00:11but I still wanted them to.
00:14And now, you know, I think it's great that, you know,
00:17that they can have an action figure.
00:18I've seen kids with action figures with me
00:20or they asked me to sign them.
00:21And the joy on their face of thinking they can be
00:26or it's possible to color the world with characters that are real.
00:33So having positive images or giving you an opportunity
00:38to live in a world that lets you know that even your fantasy life
00:42can be something that's extremely special
00:46because you live in a world that's, you know, not so special.
00:50Or sometimes, you know, just having a comic book
00:53or a comic book character that allows you to get away from who you are
00:57gives you an opportunity to be a different kind of kid.
01:04Fury.
01:07Since you've been gone,
01:10things have gotten much worse.
01:21Why do you think I came back?
01:23You're in no shape for this fight
01:27that lies before us, old friend.
01:38This is personal.
01:42Very few of us know about the wars fought in the shadows
01:45that have raged on this planet.
01:51Do you feel responsible?
01:53So first of all, you know, congratulations, you guys.
01:57This is an amazing series.
01:59My first question is for you, Mr. Jackson.
02:02The character of Nick Fury is more of a centerpiece
02:05in Secret Invasion than he was in, like, previous Marvel projects.
02:09How has it been being able to help further develop that character?
02:12You know, to be able to take somebody
02:13that everybody thinks they know everything about
02:15or he knows nothing about
02:17because he has this one kind of thing.
02:19He shows up, he's a strong presence,
02:21he helps solve the problem.
02:22He has no superpowers, but his superpower might be, you know, persuasion.
02:29I don't know how to convince people to do things.
02:31And you find Nick Fury in this particular series
02:36where he's been missing for a minute.
02:39He got blipped out, and then he showed up in Spider-Man Far From Home,
02:43and he was different in a way,
02:47not as all-knowing and all-powerful,
02:49and then you find out, well, it wasn't really Nick Fury.
02:52It was somebody else pretending to be Nick Fury.
02:54And then you get here, and you find out
02:56he's been gone three years since then,
02:59and he's back trying to help solve a problem
03:03that, or finally answering the call from Maria Hill,
03:07his closest confidant.
03:10And every time he encounters someone
03:13that knew him before the blip,
03:17they keep telling him, you're not the same.
03:20And at a certain point, you got to believe
03:24if you're smart enough, everybody can't be wrong.
03:26So maybe you got to stop and assess yourself
03:29and figure out what's wrong
03:30and figure out how to become the Nick Fury
03:33that you used to be
03:34so you can solve the problem you need to solve.
03:36So, Olivia, my next question is for you.
03:39You've been through dozens of projects throughout your career.
03:42What about the role of Sonya intrigued you,
03:44and why did you decide to pursue it?
03:46Well, I said yes before I knew that it was Sonya.
03:49I was just terribly excited to be in any Marvel.
03:54But what I love about her is
03:56it's lovely to play something you haven't played before.
03:59I've never played someone who so gleefully tortures people.
04:05That was a new one.
04:07And just, I think she's great.
04:10I love the fact that she does everything with some humour.
04:13And I love the fact that I got most of my scenes with Sam Jackson.
04:17All of those, if you add them all up, you go,
04:20yes, please.
04:21That's a yes from me.
04:23So, yeah, I've loved every minute of it.
04:25I call her deliciously villainous.
04:27I don't know why she does that.
04:28Yeah, that's good.
04:29She's always good.
04:30Good.
04:31Awesome.
04:31I don't know why she does that.
04:39I don't know why she does that.
04:40I don't know why she does that.
04:41I don't know why she does that.
04:42I don't know why she does that.
04:43I don't know why she does that.
04:44I don't know why she does that.
04:45I don't know why she does that.
04:46I don't know why she does that.
04:47I don't know why she does that.
