00:13So, here are some of our favorite celeb hairstyles of the year.
00:16We certainly kicked off 2021 with a bang, and that was with Michelle Obama's inauguration hair
00:23that was crafted by none other than her longtime hairstylist, Yanae Damtu.
00:28Our forever first lady took the huge event wearing a fire, fire Sergio Hudson burgundy suit
00:36and hair that was flipped and dipped to the gods.
00:40We are all for an Instagram hair switch-up, especially when it comes as a complete surprise
00:45and is debuted on Instagram.
00:47In 2020, we got it from Sanaa Lathan, and in 2021, we got it from post-actress India Moore,
00:53who for the rest of the year showed us that she is not her hair with a buzz cut
00:57that was cut to absolute perfection.
01:00Let's just say that baby hair is back.
01:02However, it never really went anywhere.
01:04This year, however, we saw it decorated in so many incredible ways,
01:08and one of our favorite ways was at the 2021 ESPY Awards,
01:12where tennis star Naomi Osaka debuted a simple ponytail, simple baby hair
01:17that was adorned with the most beautiful green crystals.
01:20It complemented her outfit, and needless to say, the girls followed suit.
01:24We can't do a hair roundup without including the queen.
01:27And this year, Lil' Kim is on the list yet again, this time for her pointed Prada bangs
01:33that went perfectly with her all-white Prada outfit.
01:37Here at Essence, we know a thing or two about black hair.
01:40That's why one of our November-December cover stars had to make the list.
01:45Simone Biles looks absolutely stunning with this textured hairdo
01:48that was created by Houston hairstylist Wheezy,
01:50and let's just say, the look definitely went viral.
01:54These days, we're just as obsessed with celebrity kids as we are their celebrity parents.
01:59And that's why Kulture, daughter of Cardi B and Offset, had to make the list.
02:04From bantu knots to box braids to heart designs in her cornrows,
02:08she's proving already that she's a hair icon, and we can't wait to see what's next.
