00:00The second you tell your wife that you are dying, your opportunity to do this is gone.
00:15You wanna go say hi?
00:30You know, I watched this movie in the bed yesterday morning and I was emotional for the entire rest of the day.
00:40You know, even though this has elements of sci-fi and futurism, it's really a love story at the end of the day.
00:46But I'm interested, you know, for you, what was it about this project that truly attracted you to it?
00:51Ah, the story. The story, the dilemma. You know, I hadn't seen anything like it before.
00:57It felt unprecedented to me and that was exciting, you know, and so I just got to connect with Ben.
01:06And then upon having a great conversation with our director, Benjamin Cleary, I was all for it, you know, and ready to go.
01:15And so and now we're here.
01:17Yes. You know, and you have to essentially kind of play two characters, you know, at one point in this project.
01:24What was it like for you from an actor standpoint and even a production standpoint?
01:29Yeah, it was a lot to think about.
01:31You know, usually you don't have to.
01:33I think anytime I read a scene or script, you obviously see things or feel things.
01:39But in this case, playing both sides of it, I had to know what I was doing ahead of time.
01:45There was very little space. There was space for discovery in the moment in the scene.
01:50But that happens really often and frequently when you're working with somebody else.
01:55You're just discovering moments in the scene and it keeps changing while you're shooting it.
02:00In this case, considered because I was shooting both sides of it or playing two characters, I kind of had to play the whole scene out in my mind and try to duplicate what I saw in my mind.
02:09Okay.
02:10On the day when we were filming, you know, and so that was really different, you know, and communicating with my body double in terms of like what I wanted to do when, how hot or emotional I felt like the moment needed to be and really honing in on those beats to make sure the scene was turning out how Ben and I envisioned the scene turning out.
02:35So it was like a fascinating exercise. It really was. I wouldn't be quick to sign up for that again because I really do enjoy working with other actors.
02:46Like for instance, working with Naomi in this was unbelievable.
02:52And I remember working with her in Moonlight and just thinking like, wow, I would love to work with her in another iteration and just have more time together.
03:02And so once we had a chance to do this, it was, it was kind of a dream come true because I just have so much respect for her as both an actor and a person.
03:12Yeah. I love that. And lastly, you know, we see Cameron have, you know, this interesting response to the fact that the experiment is working, you know, and to Jack and seeing him, I think it was a very human response.
03:25But how would you describe what Cameron's going through in those moments?
03:31Oh my God, he's trying to, he's trying to trust the situation, you know, and, and I think the more, the more it feels like it's a safe thing to trust.
03:43And I think other emotions could start to come up and it may be a little bit of, of jealousy or envy and things that would be really natural because Cameron feels like he should have ownership over his life and be able to have some control over his beginning, middle and end.
03:58And so, but, but, but then there's this overriding issue where Cameron wants to do what's right for his family.
04:05And so since this, this opportunity is essentially unprecedented, he's a little confused and he doesn't have enough people around him that he can have a real conversation about the repercussions of this type of decision.
04:19So he's, I think he's feeling different things in every moment and he's never quite feeling safe and comfortable to make that decision because he's also just processing his own mortality.
04:32So there's, there's, I was feeling different things, different days and different moments.
04:38And all of them felt like really legitimate from the characters standpoint, but it was, it was just a complicated, rich, emotional space to live in for the, whatever, four months or so that we were, we were filming it.
04:53Yeah.
