00:00How can I describe the cover of this Essence shoot?
00:06I would definitely describe it as a whole lot of hot girl stuff.
00:09I'm Tina Snow. That's what it's giving.
00:11It's giving rich, wealth, black, health.
00:16It's giving money.
00:20What's up? It's Megan Thee Stallion, a.k.a. Young Tina Snow,
00:22and this is my Essence uncovered.
00:23Y'all don't even know how excited I am to be here.
00:31I feel like I grew up looking at Essence and now it's important for me to own my
00:36sexuality and my music because I know I have a large platform and other women
00:40are listening to it.
00:41And if that may have been something that wasn't on their mind,
00:44it's definitely on their mind now when they listen to Megan Thee Stallion.
00:46I feel like it took me a minute to figure out what I like,
00:50what I want to look like, how to get comfortable.
00:51And I used to think, oh my gosh,
00:54somebody's going to think this about me or somebody's going to think that about me
00:56or, ooh, figuring out, girl, this is your world.
00:59Everybody else just living in it.
01:01Everything started going way smoother for me.
01:05The number one rule for women, you know,
01:08to just own your sexuality is to do what makes you feel good.
01:11Do everything that makes you confident.
01:13And that's down from what you put on to sex.
01:16Like, if you are only doing things to pleasure other people,
01:21you will never find pleasure.
01:23So you definitely have to own it in whatever you do.
01:26So when you go outside and you want to show your body off,
01:28don't be doing it because, oh, I'm trying to attract somebody
01:31or I think other people will think this looks good.
01:33Do it because you think that you're sexy and you like your curve.
01:36So I came outside today and I want to show myself a good time.
01:39I want to prove to myself how sexy I feel when I'm in the bed.
01:43And, you know, it's a two-people party, you know what I'm saying?
01:47This sex is not just about you, it's about me too.
01:50And if I feel good, that's only going to make you feel better.
01:53So, you know.
01:56Two artists that definitely made me want to be a better storyteller
01:59in my music is Pimp C and Biggie.
02:03Pimp, like, when he's speaking, when he's rapping,
02:05I just hear the confidence in his voice.
02:08So I'm like, as a kid, I'm listening, and I'm like,
02:10damn, whatever he's saying, I believe it.
02:12And I knew I wanted to be a rapper, so I was like,
02:14this is how I want to make other people feel when they listen to me rap.
02:17Because I just felt like I was her, okay?
02:20And it was a man, but I was like, a man can speak this freely
02:23and this confident, he can say all these things,
02:25he can talk about what he want to talk about.
02:26I feel like this would sound crazy if a woman was saying it.
02:30So I always knew I wanted to just give the hotties that feeling,
02:33like, that Pimp gave me.
02:34And Biggie, I feel like he literally paints the picture,
02:37like, from the beginning of the song to the end.
02:40Like, he explains exactly what kind of man he is,
02:43the way he dressed, what kind of women he likes.
02:46And I felt like if you flip it and make it a woman saying that,
02:49I thought that would have been fire, which it is,
02:51so that's why I do it.
02:52The sexiest song I ever heard is Big Papa by Biggie Smalls.
03:01Every time the beat come on,
03:02I just immediately want to just drop down, like, yes.
03:05I want some wine, I want my little boo with me.
03:08Or, you know, it just makes me want to dance,
03:09it makes me feel good.
03:10And the sexiest lyric I've ever heard,
03:13the first thing that came to my head was a lyric for me,
03:15I had to decipher in Dallas.
03:18And I was like, in, in, in, out.
03:20Let me rub it on your mouth.
03:23Put my legs on your head, flip over and stretch it out.
03:26So I feel like that's pretty sexy.
03:30That's just my opinion.
03:31It made me feel sexy.
03:32It made me feel great.
03:34So, yeah.
03:34I want people to remember my era.
03:41I want people to remember Megan Thee Stallion
03:42as somebody that was confident,
03:44somebody that spread positivity,
03:47somebody that was sexy,
03:49somebody that was different,
03:51like, somebody that really pushed the envelope.
03:54I want to be remembered as somebody
03:56who made music that made everybody smile.
03:58So when you think about it 10 years from now,
04:00you're just like, yeah, I remember when that Megan Thee Stallion drop,
04:01I was here, I was doing this.
04:03I want to make music that's timeless.
04:04So I just always want, you know,
04:07to put a smile on my listeners' faces.
04:08I want to be remembered as somebody that gave you a smile.
04:12I hope that girls in Houston that will see this cover
04:16will know that anything is possible,
04:18no matter where you came from, what side of town,
04:20no matter what position you may be in at the time.
04:23Put your mind to something
04:24and you really are passionate about it and you believe it.
04:27Not only do you have to pray,
04:29but you have to put the work behind the prayer.
04:31When you figure out how to do all that,
04:33it will happen.
04:34It can happen.
04:35So look at me because all I did every day
04:38was wrap in my room, pray.
04:40I got in front of every camera I could to wrap.
04:42And now we're here doing hot girl stuff.
04:44Yeah.
04:45Okay.
04:45Cheers.
04:45Cheers.
04:46Cheers.
04:461.
04:47Cheers.
04:47Cheers.

04:50Cheers.
04:50Cheers.
04:50Cheers.
04:50Cheers.
04:50Cheers.
