00:00Hey Royals! The world's most magical celebration kicks off October 1st with fun and spectacle to
00:21commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. During the 50th, the
00:25castle's gonna light up at night, calling me and all my sisters to let our inner
00:30princess shine. Speaking of princesses, here's Brandi with a behind-the-scenes
00:34look at the ultimate Disney princess celebration. Man, I can't believe this is
00:39happening all over again. I feel like I'm reliving my childhood. Really? Yes. Why do you say that? Because, I mean, I got a chance to be the first black princess when I was 16. I got the call from Whitney Houston. Oh my god. And I was like, really? Amazing!
00:55I can't even believe it. And it's all coming back around. It's just, it's really unbelievable.
01:02I am so excited to be working with Disney and to represent these amazing princesses that we all have grown to love and to be chosen to do such a fantastic song starting now and Oak Felder being the producer. It's just been such a great experience so far and I'm just so honored to be here.
01:22Yeah.
01:24Hey!
01:25Calypso guitar, yeah.
01:28I hear, you know I hear everything.
01:30What do you think?
01:31I love it.
01:32You like it?
01:33I love it. I'm ready to get on with it.
01:34It's magic, it's love, it's empowering and it feels like I'm on my way to like a global place. This feels global. It feels like, you know, this is gonna reach a lot of people.
01:50Because the more people you can reach with this kind of energy, kindness and love and inspirational song, the better. Because this is what the world needs. The world needs a lot of love right now.
02:02This song is written with a lot of callbacks to all the Disney princesses. There are lyrics that describe elements of all of these different characters.
02:11When I think of a Disney princess and what a Disney princess represents, it's always kindness, it's always love. These are dreamers, you know, they never gave up on their dreams. No matter what their circumstances were, you know, that's what the princesses do. They just go for it until their dreams happen and until they're realized.
02:31Being a person who just loves to cut vocals, I use vocals like a paintbrush, man. Like it's one of my favorite things to do. Your vocal is my favorite paintbrush to paint with. It really is.
02:42When people hear starting now, I want them to feel like no matter where you are in your life, the present moment is the gift. You can always start anew. You can always be better. You can always strive to be another version of yourself. You can always be the greatest version of yourself.
02:58It's full circle, right? Because you grow up being influenced by all these different songs and all this different music and all this different culture that's presented by Disney. I mean, the Disney princesses thing is, it's amazing to be able to have anything to do with that.
03:12With Disney, it's always magical.
03:20More from Brandi and the ultimate princess celebration is coming. But here's one more thing. Get outside and head to Disney Springs.
03:27One of several spots at the Walt Disney World Resort where friends and family can reunite and celebrate soulfully. We've got music, art, food, and all the summer vibes.
03:36Kick off your summer by singing Summer of Soul. Now playing in theaters and streaming on Hulu. Take a look.
