00:00I know Whitney Houston was someone who is really important to both you and Brandi.
00:08And there have been several films made about Whitney and also recently one about Bobby Christina.
00:12Now, having known Whitney personally, what are your thoughts on these projects?
00:15Did you watch them?
00:16I didn't.
00:17You didn't watch them?
00:18I make sure that I don't watch them.
00:19Yeah.
00:19And honestly, I never really get into, I've never spoken my feelings on it.
00:25I think that if her mother feels it's okay, then it's okay.
00:30If and when her mother or Miss Dion or any other person who's alive they're portraying in this movie don't agree, it shouldn't be done.
00:39There has to be some respect there.
00:40There has to be some honor given because she is a great regardless if she's living or deceased.
00:47There'll never be another her.
00:49And what she did for people like myself went far beyond the music, went far beyond the television screen.
00:54She came into my life, you know, musically when I was very young.
00:58But at 18, when some of the most traumatic things were happening, she didn't call me.
01:02She flew there and stayed there.
01:04That's not something that you find often, especially with people who are consumed with themselves.
01:10Right.
01:10But she was such a selfless person.
01:12And I think that it's very selfish of a person to create something about someone that cannot give consent.
01:17Now, if her family is saying it's fine, which I don't know the details of that, but if Miss Sissy is saying it's okay, then it's okay.
01:24But if you're doing it outside of that, then it's problematic.
01:26If you're doing it outside of that, then I think that it's just, even if it's not problematic for you legally because we are public domain to a degree, it's morally not right.
01:35And that's just my opinion.
01:37Yeah.
01:37And you're entitled to that since you had such a close base.
01:40Yeah, I wouldn't do something that her family didn't want done or she didn't, the songs you hear me sing of her, she chose for me to sing.
01:49You know, when I put them in the show, she had certain ones that were favorites of her, like You Give Good Love, that she liked for me to sing in particular.
01:56And so I still do it.
01:57And if I do anything, when we did the BET Awards, myself and Brandi, we did this whole segment for her.
02:03Her mother put it together and actually sang on it.
02:06That's the way you do it.
02:07Right.
02:07That's a great way to honor her.
02:09The only way.
02:10That's a great way to honor her.
