00:30After having three babies, I waited until my last baby pretty much got into school to
00:53go back to college. One of our childhood friends, aunt, had given birth to Makina State, was
00:59going to take him. When I got him, my ex-husband, now ex-husband, and I began to have marital
01:09problems. And I actually had to stop going to school to work on my master's because I
01:17chose to take Makina again. My oldest is 14. I had him when I was 21 years old. Six years
01:23later, I had another boy. I adopted another one at three weeks. He's one now. He's gone
01:30on two. I think I live and everything that I do is based around them. They changed me a
01:36lot. I'm more coma. I'm not the same person I was when I was before 21. So I think that's
01:44a blessing. 2020, I couldn't graduate because I have a one-year-old about to be two and I needed
01:49to get out of school ASAP so I can raise him. So I rode myself at YAP ever since I've been
01:55there and now I'm about to graduate in June, faster than 2020. I've been doing internships.
01:59I've been working, still going to school. I just like yelp. I have three beautiful kids.
02:05It's been a really rocky road for me. I've been through debts, bad relationships. I just maintain
02:12and my kids keep me happy and organized every day.

03:30You know, I was very surprised. I'm excited about going to Essence, maybe getting a chance
03:36to meet Janie Jackson, seeing Janie Jackson. So, very surprised.
03:40One of the first times we interacted, she was actually sleeping on the sofa so that her
03:45children could have privacy. It was beautiful to me. I couldn't thank anybody else that would
03:50deserve it more. The best part is that I get to see my mother smile because she's usually sad.
03:59Because I work so much, I don't have time sometimes to just be a lady and enjoy myself
04:04and relax. So, this is a day for me to do what I want to do and be able to do something
04:10different with myself. Our mom's not like, she's in our life, but she's not there physically.
04:17And I'm actually going to give the ticket to our mother and let her go with my sister.
