00:00Hi everyone, I'm Dominique Abdi here with Essence.com. I'm here with Lana and Ashley
00:10talking about NYDJ Jeans. Let's get into it. So you're known for being a huge advocate for
00:17body positivity. So how do you feel like NYDJ Jeans kind of fits into your mission and what
00:25you stand for in general? One of the reasons I went on to this campaign with NYDJ was that
00:31there was so much inclusion happening with the other women. I mean, I heard that Lana
00:36was coming on, that Christy was coming on, and Bridget, and I thought, wow, I've never
00:40been on a shoot with that such diversity. And I've always modeled NYDJ Jeans since I think
00:48I did a runway show with them before they were who they were. And I was about 21 years
00:54old. Nice. And they had a runway show in Miami. Oh, so throwback. You've been, you've been
00:59down. Yes. OG right here. I love it. Yes. But everything that they stand for, I mean, it's,
01:05the whole campaign is fit to be. And everything I feel that I do is I'm fit to be me. I'm fit
01:10to be fabulous. I'm fit to be anything that is courageous and outstanding. And I want other
01:16women to understand that. Being a part of, again, a really diverse cast and then also just
01:22seeing how things have changed. How do you feel about the fashion industry in general
01:26and, like, where it's going? What I have seen in my years in the industry has been this broader
01:32inclusion. Yeah. Feeling like you had to be a certain size to model or knowing that maybe
01:38as a black model you weren't going to get as many jobs. Yeah. Or that if you were what
01:44they call the plus size model, you weren't going to get as many jobs. You weren't going to do
01:47anything that was high profile. You weren't going to be as visible. Yeah, you might, you
01:51know? Yeah. So now I really think that, that that has changed. It doesn't matter where you
01:56stand as a model. There is that opportunity. I think a lot of it has come from social media,
02:03both ends. Yeah. From people being more vocal about what they want to see. And it's easier
02:08to make that known to a company. You both look amazing in your jeans. And I feel like I want
02:14to know the three things, the three descriptive words that you feel when you put on NYPDJ jeans.
02:21Sexy. Fashionable. Yes. Comfort. You know, like, they're comfortable.
02:26Sucked in. Yes. You can go down a size. Uplifted. Oh, yes. Uplifted. I mean, if they look good,
02:35why not? I love that. Suck it in, pull it up. Hey, that could be a sweet clicker. Suck it in, pull it up.
02:44Suck it in.
