Transcript
00:00you're a swimmer how do you maintain your your beauty your hair care routine or do you even
00:08have one I have a hair care routine but I think what is so special to me is when I was younger
00:13my mom knew that I would be somewhat good at swimming and she would always remind me you
00:18know it's just hair smoke it's gonna grow back and so with that I think that's kind of helped
00:22me in my swimming endeavors but you know I just switch products up around because depending on
00:27how my hair is working at that time I wash it every other day since I'm in the pool right when
00:33I don't wash it I just rinse it out really well and just comb and condition it as best as I can
00:37no definitely because it's such a big deterrent especially amongst african-american women as to
00:41why they may not be swimming or that sort of thing do you find that you're often talking to young
00:46swimmers now that you're back stateside about getting involved in the pool and and becoming
00:50swimmers because you know we don't often see ourselves in that arena I definitely am trying
00:55to talk to more children about getting into the sport of swimming it's a water-saving it's a
01:00life-saving skill getting in the water and I hope that what I've done at the Olympics will inspire a
01:06generation to get into a sport that they never thought they could be good at
