00:00The State of the Union under him has not been good, and he has been divisive.
00:05And I think he's putting us all in harm's way.
00:07And so he's not worthy of being listened to.
00:10I don't know why anybody want to pay attention to anything that he has to say.
00:15You don't close government down because you're having a policy disagreement.
00:29And that's what he did.
00:31And that was unfortunate.
00:33It was sad.
00:34It was very hurtful and harmful.
00:37And we've got to do everything we can to let him see that that's a bad move for you, dude,
00:45for him.
00:46I just can't imagine what he's going to try and say.
00:49But since he is a great liar, he'll say anything because he's capable of saying anything without
00:55facts, without research.
00:57And so I'm not looking forward to his State of the Union.
01:00And I hope that people will turn the television off.
01:03What I am hoping, and there is always hope, is that when the president takes the podium
01:09on the House floor next week, that he will guarantee the American people that he will never shut
01:17the government down again over a policy dispute.
01:22In the absence of leadership, bad things happen.
01:27I believe he'll just rail on about the wall that is unnecessary, archaic, medieval.
01:36It's not going to change a whole heck of a lot about immigration or drugs coming into this
01:43country.
01:44I hope the president realizes that we cannot shut down government again.
01:49While there are those in the White House and his administration who are saying, well,
01:54we better get what we want or else we're going to shut it down.
01:57American people have made it clear that's not a winning strategy for anybody in our country.
02:02At least of all the 800,000 families went without a paycheck, many of them minority families,
02:08many of them veterans families.
02:09We do not need a wall.
02:12We need to ensure that our borders are secure.
02:14When the president is off track and message, he's off track and purpose, and he can't even
02:19define how long will the wall be?
02:22What will it be constructed of?
02:24How much will it cost?
02:25You cannot allocate funds without a plan and without knowing where our taxpayer dollars are
02:31going.
02:33But I am hopeful that we reach a plan because we do need border security, but we will not
02:39build a wall.
02:41I would presume that he's going to try to say that there's a national emergency at our
02:47borders and this is why we have to build a wall, when actually this is only another
02:52con that he utilized in the campaign, saying that he was going to build a wall and Mexico
02:56was going to pay for it.
02:58And it has nothing to do with reality of utilizing experts who understand border security and understand
03:05what is needed, like more immigration judges, like the use of new and modern technology
03:11What I hope happened was that other elected officials on both sides realize their responsibility.
03:18You know, Congress is a separate and co-equal branch to the president.
03:22So we cannot just rely on just the president's directive.
03:25I think that people have to make bold steps and vote their district and vote for legislation
03:30that they know is good and right for the people, even if it may or may not be supported
03:34by the president.
03:35I think he qualifies for impeachment.
03:37He's demonstrated that he is not worthy of being the president of the United States.
03:42So I'm going to continue to work toward that and hope that maybe he'll just wake up one
03:46morning and say I quit and go home.
03:49That would be okay with us.
03:50We would say bye bye.
