00:00What does the life and legacy of Quincy Jones mean to you? How has it touched you?
00:05We sat down and had a very, very good conversation about the industry.
00:10And I thank him for that, because the industry can be, as you know, you know, it can be a mess.
00:17But when you are free, like he is, it's not as hard.
00:21He's 85 years old, still doing his thing, and I think that comes from him being peaceful
00:26and not letting anybody keep him in a box.
00:29And that was the information that he gave me, so that you can do it all.
00:32And that's what I'm doing.
00:34It's Quincy Jones.
00:35I mean, every, I'm still learning that every favorite song of mine was actually written by him.
00:41Like, all these Leslie Gore songs, I was like, oh my God, he did these?
00:45When I met him, we spoke for about a half hour, and he just explained to me, like,
00:48if you really want to make it in this business, study the greats.
00:51You know, study the people that you really admire, and then build a style out of the best of what they do.
00:59Thank you so much.
