Mathew Knowles is offering aspiring superstars a chance to learn the tricks of the trade with a "Beyonce bootcamp." Will our panel throw shade or give him a slay?
Transcript
00:00A day-long seminar dubbed Beyonce Boot Camp, which promises to give key advice to any individual
00:08wanting to get into the entertainment industry. Matthew Knowles is setting the record straight
00:12and letting critics know he's not trying to cash in on his daughter. He explains,
00:18I'm not just Beyonce's father. People want to brand me as that. I'm the brains behind
00:22the success. Okay, Mr. Knowles. Now, Mr. Knowles has apparently taken his The Entertainment
00:27Industry, How Do I Get In seminars to Barbados and Paris, and he also plans on taking it to select
00:32cities across the United States. So, I know y'all have a lot to say. I'm so nervous to look, but on
00:37the count of three of this slate or shade. One, two, three. Slate. Slashade. Shade. Okay, Corey, why is
00:44this a shade? Okay, there was something I read in the article where he was like, oh, I see blue. I
00:50spent a day with Blue Ivy a couple of months ago, and I'll probably be spending another day with her
00:54in a few more months. Which let me know, you don't spend no time with your family. Okay, which means
00:59y'all must have some really bad blood between you. And yes, I get it. You did. You were the brains
01:04behind Destiny's Child in the beginning of Beyonce's career. But let Beyonce be Beyonce and stop trying
01:10to pimp your daughter's name, because that is what you're doing. Basically. Because clearly, you're not
01:13close with them anymore, and we all knew about his other financial troubles. It just screams
01:19desperation. He was selling memorability, wasn't he at one point? Yeah, and he went on the breakfast
01:25club this morning and said, oh, because he had so much space, he had to clean. He had to clean out
01:29his, the, he had like 6,000 square feet, so he had to clean out all this stuff he had. Why 600 square
01:34feet in Brooklyn? You know, I'm just saying. Okay, I'm just saying. Khalees, ladies' first worry.
01:38I didn't say anything. I agree with his body language. He's like shifting it,
01:44where he's shifting his chair, like, hold on, I just, I gotta say something in a minute. Here's,
01:48here's what I said, because I, I'm, as a parent, I hate that people put the dad first, because if he
01:55was doing this the traditional way, nobody would say you can't be a legitimate manager or an agent
02:01if you manage somebody who blew up. Then you get to move on to new clients. So this world is hard to
02:07have a job in, and if he's, if he figured out how to support Beyonce, I'm sure he could find some
02:12other talent. So he should be able to, he should be able to get money off of it. Now, allegedly,
02:15he has tried, I think he has his own label, and he's tried to grow other talent, but the gospel,
02:21the gospel, the gospel. He has gospel artists and things of that nature, so, but, you know,
02:25that was me being shade. Let me throw it up. Shade. Now, Worry, thank you. Thank you. Shade.
02:31Worry, you had a slushé. I did. I mean, always right with a biscuit. Yeah.
02:37So, here's the thing. That's her dad. He participated in her creation. So it's like,
02:44you're kind of not pimping that aspect, but we really know that you're pimping that aspect,
02:48because it's the thing that made you big. I, you know, I don't know. It's kind of a difficult one,
02:55but it's one of those things where if people won't let you move on from that, anyway, because I know
03:00for a long time, I had a client for a long time, and people kept me in that box with that client,
03:06like every time I was seen, I was referred to as so-and-so stylist, and it's like, no,
03:11actually, I have a plethora of clients, but you're focusing on that one. So I guess he's in a place
03:16where it could be like, if you're going to keep focusing on that, let me go ahead and sell everything
03:21that's in my garage, because I can use the space, because I need to put the baby's crib in here now,
03:25because he just got here. That, see what I'm saying? That was a cliche, a cliche.
03:30On top of that, you know, it's one of those things where it's like, I have information,
03:36why not sell it? Now, question, all of you are very successful in your careers. Would y'all pay
03:40$199, or would you have paid $199 to take a seven-hour workshop from Matthew Knowles on how
03:46to get into the industry? And anybody can answer. I will say at the beginning of my career,
03:50there was a book on how to be a stylist, written by a woman who was an agent for stylists and stuff.
03:56I forget her name, Crystal something or other. And that book had like eight editions.
04:03Oh. I remember buying the book. Okay. So clearly there, there is somebody in Kansas.
04:08Yeah. Okay. There's somebody in Kansas that can't get to New York to get the information that we have.
04:13Look, in this business, anytime you want to be something, somebody's going to try to make money
04:17off of you, headshot, classes on how to pose. Even when you're a celebrity. I'm about to sell a class
04:23on how to sit in a chair next to you. Do it. And Slater's Shade. But can we be honest?
04:28$199. $199. When you sign on, like even if you sign a record deal, there's people waiting at the
04:34door to be your publicist. Right. People want to teach you how to be, you know, your manners.
04:38Yeah. You know, there's, everybody has something to sell. He just happened to capitalize off his
04:45daughter's name, which by the time this materializes, it probably won't be. The same thing.
04:49Beyonce bootcamp. Right. So it won't. So let's check back in with you all on Facebook.
04:54Shalice Lee said, no shade. She is what she is because of his direction and management.
04:59There are many talented people who don't have a Matthew Knowles to propel them forward.
05:02Okay. Interesting. Thank you so much, Shalice. Now they can buy it for $199.
05:05They can buy it for $199. And even get your picture taken for like an additional small fee and like a sandwich.
05:09No, you're joking. No, no, no. Very serious. I'm done.
