00:00During the summer, it was reported that Will Smith's production company was shopping around
00:07a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot. Recently, Alfonso Ribeiro, who played Carlton, expressed
00:12his opinion on the possible reboot. And I quote,
00:14It's not exciting to me because I know it ain't gonna happen. He continued,
00:19And if it happened, it wouldn't be Fresh Prince. It would be something that's taking the story
00:23of the show and having all new people do something. To me, that's not Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
00:27Is Will Smith starring in it? No. Then it ain't no Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
00:31So what do we think? Is this Slade or Shade? One, two, three. Slade or...
00:35Oh, this one's Slade. Shade. Shade, Slade, Shade. Okay, Khalees, start us off. Why a Shade?
00:39Okay, so at first I was thinking I admire his loyalty. But then I was thinking about when I was a kid,
00:45Fresh Prince was a very good influence on my generation. And I think right now we need that
00:49for young black men to have somebody who has to make good decisions. He's having fun,
00:53but it's an uplifting show. And it also gives all these jobs to minorities that are in the
00:58entertainment industry. So he's being very short-sighted by saying, let's not do another
01:03Fresh Prince. Okay, if you don't want another Fresh Prince, do a Fresh Princess.
01:06Okay. Boy Meets World figured it out. A little flip on it.
01:08They did Girl Meets World. That's true. They do have that.
01:11First of all, as soon as you leave this set, you're going to have to go trademark that,
01:14coin that, because somebody's going to use that.
01:15Did we send her the video for intellectual property so she has that?
01:19See that? All right, we're going to work on that, Rory.
01:20Rory, what did you have? You had a slave? Why do you think it's a slave?
01:24Probably because my hand just went straight up like that.
01:26No, I'm joking. I, you know, I kind of get what he's saying,
01:29but then she just kind of made a point that made me revamp my brain a little bit.
01:33Hold my hand through this.
01:35You showed me being indecisive. I know, that showed me being indecisive.
01:40Hold me. It's that thing where I just figured out what you were saying,
01:44and it's absolutely true, because we were just talking about uplifting like two seconds ago.
01:49We were, yeah. And that is necessary.
01:51Maybe it's a thing of taking the idea of what that was and maybe not trying to redo that,
01:58but use it as a blueprint.
02:00I really like Fresh Princess.
02:00So I'm still with the slaves, so now I'm slushed like she was.
02:03And I like the idea of the Fresh Princess.
02:05I do. I really, really do.
02:06And good job for calling out, you know, Boy Meets Girl.
02:09That is true.
02:10Just saying.
02:10Well, I agree with both Khalees and worry about that.
02:13But, you know, of course the shade is he didn't have to go on and on about what it wasn't going to be
02:18because the best had already been done, and I think I even read, too.
02:21And I appreciate him saying, like, the backbone of the show was James Avery, who, you know, who passed away.
02:26So how can they do this show without him?
02:28But also, it's like, dude, calm down.
02:30You can do a reboot.
02:32You can recast it.
02:33You could come on as the neighbor.
02:35Like, there's a part for you, which is the tone.
02:38I didn't like the...
02:38I mean, Grant, I know there's a little something underneath that.
02:40There's a little something like, well, I can't be in it anymore.
02:43And, you know, go back to doing America's Funniest Home Videos.
02:46Look at this one.
02:47See?
02:48I'm just saying.
02:48Shade.
02:49Be happy.
02:49You won Dancing with the Star.
02:51Or did he win?
02:52He did win, and he's guest hosting right now.
02:54Yeah, so be happy in that lane.
02:56But, yes, a new generation of actors can come along.
03:00I'm here for that.
03:01I love all of this that y'all are giving me.
03:02Let's see what our Facebook fam had to say out there.
03:05Chantelle Monique Hosea, yes, all three names, said,
03:08No shade at all.
03:09Why mess with something too perfect?
03:11It's like trying to repaint the Mona Lisa.
03:13It's classic that can't be remade.
03:14Okay.
03:15Well, thank you very much, Chantelle, for chiming in.
