00:00Music doesn't connect with people as much as it used to so I just want to do
00:09that. Late nights and early mornings became my life and thereafter became the
00:15new album of everything I felt before. I've just finished working on it actually.
00:19A couple of missing pieces of the puzzle to get together. I'm looking forward to
00:23everyone hearing it. All my Martians have been patient as I am trying to be but
00:29holding on to what I believe is a great body of honest work. The first single
00:34came about because sometimes you just are that dumb. Just sounded exactly how I
00:43felt in love. The situation that I was in was dumb and I'm gonna place blame once
00:48again on things that went wrong whether that was because of me, because of him,
00:52just wasn't a good situation so this was my I ain't stupid side record. I just want
00:58to have some light-heartedness. I think people take life too seriously
01:04sometimes. I'm not saying I don't but if you have a song called Dumb, why would I?
01:10Sometimes it's okay to get stupid. New Orleans has just been a second home to me. I have an aunt and
01:16uncle that lived there. My mother used to vacation there all the time. We had a house
01:20there prior to Katrina and there was only a couple of art pieces that survived that
01:26which I have in my house now. It's crazy that it was just the artwork that wasn't lost.
01:32Well the Essence Festival audience gets to hear my single first time and two other
01:39songs from the new album. I'm looking forward to getting there, performing these
01:43songs and seeing how you react.
01:47It's New Orleans, Essence Fest. It's the place that I'd want to be if I wasn't performing.
01:53I just want to be there. So if I run off stage and run to Acme Oyster House, don't worry about it.
01:58I just crave that when I go to New Orleans and Cafe Du Monde, hot chocolate. It could be 110 degrees.
02:04Mothers, mmm, their omelette, wow. Their iced tea, amazing. It's going down. So I'm in the gym,
02:12currently working out all of these calories that I have to burn and all this fat I have to lose in
02:17order to eat all the fat that I want to when I'm there. So I'm ready. Hi, this is Marshall Ambrosius
02:23and I'm excited to perform at the Essence Music Festival presented by Coca-Cola. Get your tickets
02:29and more information at EssenceMusicFestival.com.
