Japanese fashion brand Comme Des Garcons always has interesting hair choices during their fashion presentations. Their latest men's collection donned awful cornrow lace front wigs.
Transcript
00:00really what in the Tyler Perry presents could possibly be happening here on behalf of lace
00:17fronts everywhere I object why if you don't understand why con dig or song felt like they
00:25needed to put these men in these terrible cornrow lace front wigs allow me to over explain it to you
00:32parents fashion week welcomed us with open arms and racist hearts by way of con dig or song it's a
00:39little thing I like to call racism for sale using racism controversy or black outrage to sell a
00:46product is nothing new in fact many of your faves have done it and will continue to do it because
00:53guess what we talk about it we create hashtags around it and it works it gives them the attention
00:58that they've been seeking con dig or song you tried it quite frankly look at the fashions
01:03I know I know I'm offended by the cornrows on the white people because cultural appropriation
01:11but I'm more so offended by the placement of the wig you know what
01:16bye wig we just gonna leave the lace on and we just gonna pull it forward is what we're this could
01:27be a lesson for a lot of you who wear your wigs way too forward the forwardness pull your wig back
01:35I feel like even Tyler Perry's wig department has a problem with these wigs if you feel your wig on your
01:46forehead you're gone too far obviously there's so many white models in this show because
01:51of racism but like for the black model sir I'm gonna need you to take a stand take a deep take a wig off
02:01at this point it's got to be on purpose come dig on song no nobody would be talking about this brand if
02:08it wasn't for these atrocious lace fronts just send everybody home the designers the lonely black
02:16boy walking the runway all the white boys in the cornrow wigs and all the king's horses and all the
02:23king's men so the hairstylist has come and apologized claiming that he was inspired by Egyptian princes
02:31even if you were inspired by Egyptian princes like did they wear their wigs like that you can be
02:39inspired by the prince of Egypt the movie the people the place the person place in the thing
02:45but don't put cornrow wigs on anybody white or anybody nobody anywhere ever needs a cornrow wig
02:56we wouldn't have to go through any of this if diversity in the workplace actually existed
03:02because I feel like somebody's black woman somewhere would have been like wait
03:05first of all pull the wigs back actually pull them off until another brand uses racist tactics to get
03:13our attention I'm Danielle Young and this is the over explainer reacts bye wig
03:19bye
