00:00So I'm at the Department for Transport and I've just had a meeting with five senior officials from the department.
00:07Unfortunately, a minister wasn't available this morning because the railways bill is going through committee and they're there.
00:14But I have pushed the case for emergency funding from the government to help support the communities around Torcross and Slapton following the collapse of the A379 last night.
00:26And I pressed upon them the importance of emergency funding because this is the kind of event that is not budgeted for in a county council budget.
00:35They can't take the money for this out of the pothole budget.
00:38It's really important that government sees this as the emergency that it is.
00:44So whatever happens with the A379 Slapton line in the future, we are going to need funding for the local road network.
00:54And I will continue pushing government for this, pressing the case and making sure that it is not forgotten.
01:02Fortunately, one of the government officials was very familiar with Torcross, knows the line well.
01:07So we were talking to people who could really visualise the situation and understand the impact that this is having on the local community.
01:15And I will do everything I can to support the community and get some money out of government to help us.
01:22I will do everything I do.
01:33I think we're doing all the aislam is not really in no time elsewhere.
01:37So we're ability to be able to support the policy that I think is sendiri that one, those of us who have been a global community.
