00:00Donnie Darko, to me, is one of my favorite movies I've made and one I'm most proud of because
00:04it does sort of define, not the way I look at the world literally, but there are a lot of things in
00:12there that I believe about the world. I think the sequence where he, my character, meets the bunny
00:19rabbit, you know, Frank, as to how I talked to the rabbit, you know, that wasn't really scripted.
00:27And it was the beginning of where I said, well, I'm just going to throw this to see if it sticks, you know.
00:31And all of a sudden, I sort of started looking at the rabbit, my sort of chin down, looking at him in a particular way.
00:38I think because of the angle of where the camera was in a close-up and then eventually became, you know,
00:44a choice that my character made every time he saw the rabbit. And it's those little things that I've learned to trust
00:50over time, instinctual things character-wise, that I go, why is that showing? Oh, I'm going to use that, you know.
00:55And that was the beginning of it. So that's why I love that scene the most.
