Après des années d'absence, Eric est de retour dans sa ville natale pour un bref séjour chez un ami d'enfance, père depuis peu. Il en profite pour rendre visite à Maggie et Rachel, ses deux soeurs qu'il n'a pas vues depuis trois ans. Très proches lorsqu'ils étaient enfants, tous trois se sont éloignés avec les années. Aujourd'hui, ils traversent tous des phases difficiles. Eric est accro au poker, Maggie a abandonné ses études universitaires et Rachel est dépressive depuis une rupture sentimentale. Après qu'il a perdu beaucoup d'argent lors d'une partie de poker, Eric décide de prolonger son séjour, le temps de se refaire. Ces quelques jours vont être l'occasion pour la fratrie de régler quelques comptes.
