00:00Nearly a month after Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was ousted in a raid by U.S. forces,
00:11Venezuelans in Caracas are divided between hope and skepticism over whether life will improve
00:17under acting President Delcy Rodriguez. Many say there is still no real change in security,
00:23corruption, or daily living conditions. Washington said the Rodriguez administration is working well
00:28together with them to reform the country's oil industry, to bring back oil companies, and to
00:34allow overseas Venezuelans or those exiled by the previous regime to return to the country.
00:40Rodriguez has also proposed an amnesty law for hundreds of prisoners, saying that the El
00:45Helicoide Detention Center, long denounced by human rights groups as a site of abuses,
00:50would be repurposed as a recreational and social services center.
00:53Last week, at least nine Venezuelans, including human rights activists, were released from
01:03prison, while reports said NGOs had verified more than 300 releases of political prisoners
01:09since the government announced the new series of releases in early January.
01:13As the people say, there are some good things, beautiful things. Hopefully. That's what we
01:20expect here. That change the government, that change everything, you know. Because what
01:25are we going to do with that they get to Maduro and keep the people here robing the same? No
01:28do not. We are doing the same. We are doing the same.
01:31I see that there are already things that are saying that they are going to improve. Well, the
01:36government says that they are saying that they are going to improve. They are saying that they are
01:38for hospitals. In hospitals, there are no nichts. It is a sadness. For hospitals, there
01:44should be something. I say that I have to pay for. I have to pay for the
01:48hospitals. That is something very important. We have seen what
01:53Dersi said and I think it looks well. And well, we all are in the expectations of what
01:59that I'm doing through the interim president,
02:06that, well, it's fine.
02:09What I've seen in the announcements, I think they're fine.
02:12Political analyst Piero Trepichoni said
02:15Venezuelans are in a period of expectation,
02:18waiting for clarity as the transition remains uncertain,
02:22with unresolved issues between Venezuela and the United States.
03:05Tuesday marks one month since the U.S. military's operation
03:09Absolute Resolve captured Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores,
03:13following airstrikes and a raid in their residence in the Venezuelan capital.
