00:30Progressive and civil society leaders file fresh impeachment complaints against Vice President
00:42Sara Duterte. The petitions were submitted by the same groups that lodged the first batch of impeachment
00:47cases against her last year. This after the Supreme Court adjusted the expiration date of Duterte's
00:52one-year immunity against impeachment to an earlier date, making her eligible for new complaints as
00:57of January 15 instead of February 6. The first refiled complaint was filed by groups identified with
01:03the left and endorsed by the three-member Makabayan bloc. The second set of complaints was filed by
01:08Father Flavie Villanueva and Tindig Pilipinas conveners Kiko Aquino D, Silvia Estrada Claudio,
01:14and Ging Delez, and was endorsed by Mamamayang Liberal Rep. Laila De Lima and Akbayan Rep.
01:19Perasi Sendanya. The two complaints echo allegations of the first petition last year. Duterte allegedly
01:25betrayed public trust over her alleged misuse of public funds but also now includes the affidavit
01:30of detainee Ramil Madriaga. The two impeachment complaints against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
01:37that were referred to the House Justice Committee passed the first test. This after the panel
01:41declared them sufficient in form on Monday, February 2, but it was not a unanimous vote. The
01:46complaint endorsed by the three-member Makabayan bloc received nine negative votes after Manila 3rd
01:51District Rep. Joel Chua questioned the authenticity of the complainant's signatures. The opposing
01:56lawmakers were outvoted by 35 colleagues who approved the complaint sufficiency in form with
02:00one abstention. The complaint endorsed by Pusong Pinoy Rep. Jet Nisay also passed the initial test,
02:06with 46 lawmakers voting yes, one objection, and one abstention. If either complaint passes the second
02:12test, the committee will proceed with notifying Marcos about the complaint and will give him time to
02:17respond to the allegations. Colombia's Camila Osorio wins her first WTA title as she rules the
02:24Philippine Women's Open with a hard-fought 2-6, 63-7-5 win over Croatia's Donna Vekic in the finals.
02:32The win capped what Osorio called a fairytale campaign as she endeared herself to Filipino fans
02:36even after she ousted hometown hero Alex Ayala in the quarterfinals.

02:50Throughout the week, Osorio praised the Philippines' hosting of a WTA 125 event,
02:55citing Filipinos' hospitality, warmth, and strong support for tennis.
02:58I had, you know, a tough beginning of, like, yeah, start of the year. So, you know, winning this
03:05match means a lot to me. And obviously also being first time here, it's like, it's unreal and
03:11basically a fairytale for me.
03:15A Minnesota federal judge declines to order a halt to President Donald Trump's immigration
03:19enforcement crackdown in Minneapolis. This in a lawsuit by state officials accusing federal agents
03:25of widespread civil rights abuses. U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez issued a ruling in the lawsuit
03:30filed by the Minnesota Attorney General's Office, which sought to block or limit a U.S. Department
03:35of Homeland Security operation. The lawsuit also accuses federal agents of racially profiling people,
03:41illegally detaining lawful residents for hours, and spreading fear through aggressive enforcement
03:45tactics. Tensions in Minneapolis ramped up after ICE agents killed Rene Goode on January 7
03:50and fatally shot Alex Preti on January 24. But comments by Trump suggest federal law enforcement
03:56deployments will only happen in the future if cities request it.
03:59And if they want help, they have to ask for it. Because if we go in, all they do is complain.
04:06Olivia Dean completed her rise from London busker to global star on Sunday, February 1,
04:12winning the 2026 Grammy for Best New Artist, an award known for highlighting the industry's
04:16next major talents. The British singer-songwriter beat viral sensation Lola Young, joining the ranks
04:22of early-recognized artists like Adele and Dua Lipa.
04:25I guess I want to say I'm up here as a granddaughter of an immigrant. I wouldn't be here.
04:36I'm, yeah, I'm a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated.
04:42Dean's mother is of Jamaican Guyanese heritage, while her dad is English.
04:46Meantime, Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny used his Grammy speech to denounce U.S. immigration
04:51enforcement.
