A trailer for Tony Hawk's Proving Ground
Transcript
00:00Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is all about choice. The choices you make affect your skater's abilities, what he looks like, even his story.
00:20You can capture that with the video editor, and people who have the game can access your edits using Xbox Live.
00:26Your sponsors are looking for the best videos in each of the three cities and in your skate lounge.
00:31At any time, you can start recording footage in the game.
00:35Once you've got enough footage, you can go into the video editor and put your video together.
00:39This is a full-featured video editor. It's not simply a replay enhancer.
00:43We're actually recording bone animation data. This is not button replay recording.
00:47This allows us to actually slice, dice, chop up, move clips around.
00:51The red timeline are the video clips.
00:54Videos can be two minutes in length. You can have up to 20 clips in a video.
00:59The right analog stick jogs through the video. It's fully analog, so you have complete control over how fast you jog through the footage.
01:06You can preview either in the jog window or full screen.
01:09You can change the camera in mid-clip. You can even slow down or speed up any clip you like.
01:15On each clip, you can adjust the camera. You can set up tripod cams. You can have the cameras locked to the skater.
01:21You can have them be static cameras. You can have the camera lock and zoom into the board.
01:26Lock to the left side of the skater. Lock to the right side of the skater.
01:30You can have helicopter cameras. You can even record your camera movements in real time along with your clip.
01:36Panning, zooming, following the skater just like you were on a skateboard behind him.
01:40Those camera movements actually get embedded into the clip and are there when you replay in the video editor.
01:47The green line are the video effects.
01:49We have standard skate effects like fisheye, bloom, blur, depth of field, high contrast, as well as a whole bunch of other more over the top effects.
01:59You can have up to three different effects on each clip. You can adjust the effects strength.
02:04You can adjust whether or not the effect fades in or fades out. You can fade out to black, fade in from black.
02:10The blue line are overlays. These are things like film grain, things that distress the image, as well as borders and even your sponsor logos.
02:19Skate videos are always cut to music. We have about 60 tracks in the game. Pick any song from the playlist.
02:26The beginning of the song might not be very interesting to edit to, so if you want to start about 10 seconds in, you can do so by jogging through the song with the left stick.
02:34Then you pick your start point and you can preview right there in the window.
02:42We've used some Guitar Hero 3 technology and beat tracked all the songs in the game.
02:46You actually get a score bonus if your editing or tricks in the video happen on beat.
02:51If your video is good enough, your sponsors will give you a nice paycheck.
02:54The video editor in Tony Hawk's Proving Ground is very powerful.
02:57It's simple enough on the surface to be able to put clips in and add music.
03:01But it has layers of depth for people who want to be extremely creative.
03:04You can even record videos of your nail the trick, nail the grab, nail the manual combos inside of your skate lounge.
03:10So you can have the tricks that you've created in the skate park that you've designed shown on a video that you've edited.
03:16Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. Every skater has a story. Create yours.
