Angely Dub on how a "family member" was affected by a recent loss | #PEPlive Choice Cuts

Filipina entrepreneur, global traveler, and author Angely Dub does not often post about herself on social media.

Her platforms are primarily used to highlight her experiential travel business, Access Travel.

So when something personal peeked into her PEP Live! interview, show host and Rachelle Siazon did not waste time asking about that personal item that caught her attention.

It was Angely's affectionate pet dog, Nala, who, even before the live interview started, was licking, nuzzling, and asking for cuddles from Angely.

"Rottweiler siya, Nala, she's nine months old," introduced Angely.

The self-made businesswoman and podcaster then shared a heartbreaking information about her dog.

"She lost her sibling last Saturday sa accident, si Champ, corgi yun."

Angely said one-year-old Champ met his end after jumping from the family's car.

She and her family felt Nala was more affected by the loss.

"That's why we're here now to support her emotionally. Kasi for us, yung pets namin, family members namin.

"So feeling namin, yung shock ng pagkawala ng dog namin, siya yung nag-absorb."

This statement aligned with a published research about the emotional contagion or bond between humans and dogs.

Titled Emotional Contagion From Humans to Dogs Is Facilitated by Duration of Ownership. it was posted on Frontiers, a respected science journalism website.

The research said that depending on the length and frequency of their affiliative relationship, the owner and the dog share and even mirror each other's emotional states.

It also concluded that this emotional bond is beneficial for both parties.

Humans with dogs often report lower stress and better heart health, while dogs benefit from shared routines and social bonding.

Good thing, Angely is already feeling better about what happened.

"So, kaya I'm dealing with that ngayon. Pero medyo okay na ako kasi ilang days na yun."
