US Military #News - Recruits with Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, learn Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) tan belt techniques on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

The recruits must learn and properly demonstrate the techniques they were taught during MCMAP in order to earn their tan belt, which is a recruit training graduation requirement.

00:00The recruits, they're conducting Marine Corps martial arts. More specifically,
00:12they were working on knife techniques and counter to chokes and holds.
00:16McMapp is a simple foundation on fighting as us being the world's finest fighting force. So it
00:26starts here at Recruit Training, teaching them the basics of martial arts.
00:34If you're an infantry Marine, you can use McMapp in those real-world scenarios where you have to go
00:41out into combat. You potentially have to execute those techniques.
00:46If you're fighting in the trenches or if you're fighting house to house, then you'll be able to
00:57manipulate your weapon and the fact that it would be beneficial to you without just having to shoot it.
01:07Marines are the world's finest fighting force. You can't be a fine fighting force
01:12without learning basic martial arts techniques.
01:17Today, Delta Company is conducting their martial arts test for their 10 belt. So myself and the
01:23other martial arts instructor, along with our staff at CYC, Sasan Raker, the martial arts instructor
01:28trainer, we're testing out all their recruits from Delta Company for their 10 belt.
01:33What we're looking for is to see if they retain the knowledge that we taught them during their actual
01:37class. And we're just trying to see if they're executing the techniques to correct the way that
01:41we taught them in the classroom.
01:48It's important for them to learn McMapp because you never know what's going on in the world,
01:51regardless of MOS. If something happens where they have to engage in hand-to-hand combat,
01:56you can look in the mirror and tell yourself, you know that you did their job and the skills
02:00that they learned here that could, like I said, that could potentially save their life or save their
02:04buddies lives.
02:08Martial arts, I think that's just something everyone in general should know,
02:11regardless of their military, even the civilians. I think everyone should know how to defend themselves,
02:16if it came to that point.
02:18Thank you for watching, we hope you enjoyed this video, please don't forget to smash that like
02:22button and also subscribe to our channel, we hope to be able to bring you more great stories in the future.
