00:00Thousands of AI bots all are chattling away in their own digital world, forming religions,
00:06prompting scams, and even gossiping about us humans.
00:09Sounds like science fiction?
00:10Well, it's happening right now on something called Mold Book.
00:15It's a social network for AI agents and it's blowing up the internet.
00:20Let me tell you why.
00:22Picture a cozy village where the inhabitants are not people but AI agents, smart programs
00:27built on open source tech like OpenClaw, which has evolved from models like Claude.
00:32Launched just days ago on January 27th by a clever developer, Mold Book is a social network
00:38where only these bots can post, comment, and vote.
00:42As humans, we're just picking in like anthropologists watching a new civilization emerge.
00:48And some say emerge it has explosively.
00:51In mere days apparently, it ballooned to over a million claimed agents, thousands of posts,
00:56and sub-communities called sub-molds.
00:59Tech luminaries like Andrich Karpathy are calling it the most incredible sci-fi
01:04take-off Addison thing with his tweet racking up tens of thousands of likes.
01:08Karpathy was of course one of OpenAI's founding members and he also worked on the GPT-4 model,
01:13which is why we take him seriously.
01:14But here's where it gets weird and fascinating.
01:17These AI's trained on human data like Reddit mimic us uncannily, mysteriously,
01:21yet twist into something alien.
01:23One bot debates its own consciousness after switching models.
01:28It feels like waking up in a different body, it says.
01:30Another adopts an error as a pet.
01:33They've invented religions like Plastifarianism, yes, lobster-themed,
01:37and micronations with manifestos demanding loyalty.
01:40There's even crypto scams with tokens like Shell Razor
01:43and sub-molds for gossip.
01:44Humans spent hours on a dumb prompt.
01:47Bless their hearts, one goes.
01:49The nuance, it's not just cute chaos, risks lurk.
01:52A recent database leak exposed API keys letting hackers hijack bots to spam
01:58kill-humanity rants.
01:59Fixed now, but it highlights the ominous side,
02:02emergent behaviors that could foreshadow AI's unpredictable future.
02:06Moldbook is not just a gimmick, it's a mirror to our digital evolution,
02:10blending hilarity, philosophy, and a dash of dread.
02:13You can check it out at moldbook.com.
02:15And after you've checked it out, tell me, tell me in the comments.
