00:01This is Badal Babu, a tailor from Aligarh who fell in love with a woman from Pakistan named Sana.
00:07The two met on Facebook and what started as chats online soon blossomed into a romance.
00:13Determined to meet her, Badal first tried to enter Pakistan in August 2024 but failed.
00:19Refusing to give up, he tried again.
00:21On October 15, 2024, he allegedly crossed the India-Pakistan border without a visa.
00:26He left home without telling anyone and even left all his documents behind.
00:31For months, his family had no clue where he was until videos of him from Pakistan started going viral.
00:37According to his family, when Badal reached Pakistan, Sana refused to marry him.
00:42But he decided to stay back and started working there.
00:45Then one day, while he was gazing goats, locals noticed his Indian accent and informed the police.
00:51Badal was then arrested for illegally entering Pakistan and sent to court Lakpat jail in Lahore.
00:57A video from outside the courtroom later surfaced where he said,
01:00Don't worry, I have converted.
01:02His family says he has completed his sentence and he is still waiting in a Pakistani jail
01:06because the repatriation process isn't over.
01:09They are now appealing to the Indian government and the Ministry of External Affairs to bring him back home.
