1995. D'origine taïwanaise, Louis Huang rêve d'ouvrir un restaurant typiquement américain et n'hésite pas à déménager avec toute sa famille de Washington jusqu'en Floride. Une fois sur place, les Huang mettent tout en oeuvre pour s'intégrer, mais les débuts sont difficiles. Tandis que Louis peine à attirer des clients dans son établissement, sa femme Jessica regrette la communauté asiatique de Washington. Quant à Eddie, l'aîné de leurs trois garçons, il cherche sa place dans son nouveau collège. Cette série familiale rafraîchissante évoque avec un brin de nostalgie les années 90.
