In her ninth Budget presented in Parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a strong push for education-led employment generation. The focus is on making India’s youth job-ready through skill-based learning, healthcare expansion, and institution-building aligned with future workforce needs.

The government will introduce 10 new allied health disciplines, including optometry, behavioural health, applied psychology, and anaesthesia, aiming to train one lakh Allied Health Professionals in five years. Support for five university townships near industrial hubs, three new AIIMS, and three Ayurveda institutes was also announced to strengthen education, research, and employment ecosystems nationwide.
