00:00According to WHO, there is no one-size-fits-all, so depending upon the priorities of our nation,
00:10the health budget, which is very meagre right now, it's 1.28, and what I am in demand
00:18is that the health budget should be increased by at least 5%.
00:23The government was planning to have 2.5% in 2025, we are nowhere near it, it's only 1.28
00:29right now, what they are spending, so our demand is that health budget should be increased
00:35to 5%.
00:36Sir, what are other demands?
00:39See, there are three components of health budget, one is infrastructure development.
00:46Infrastructure development of your healthcare system, like primary health centres, your
00:52government hospitals, your PHCs, tertiary hospitals, secondary hospitals, in the two-tier,
00:59three-tier and one-tier cities, that's infrastructure development.
01:05Then human resources, allocating funds for training and hiring professionals.
01:13If you see the salaries of, they are very meagre.
01:19So unless we give them sufficient funds, especially people, doctors who are working
01:26in the villages, in the peripheries, if you don't compensate them with proper, they are
01:32not going to work.
01:33So the second important is human resources.
01:36Third is about research and development.
01:41That has a lot of money has to be put into this, because India being such a vast country
01:46and we have been facing so much of non-common diseases, so a lot of human resources development
01:52should be done.
01:53So these are basically the three points.
