01:35and now as a professional, undefeated with 13 wins, 9 of his 13 wins come by way of knockdown.
01:45Tonight, making his super lightweight debut,
01:50here is the former WBO lightweight champion of the world,
01:57Keyshawn, the businessman, David!
02:01Boxer Chiefs second.
02:10Coach, I need coach. I need coach.
02:12Coach.
02:17Coach, I need you on this side.
02:19On this side.
02:21Right here, gentlemen.
02:22Coach, over on the other side, please.
02:24Gentlemen, step back just a little bit.
02:25All right, gentlemen.
02:26We're going to the middle of the white here, and up is going to be good.
02:30Right on top of the belt line here is going to be good.
02:32Gentlemen, you got my instructions in the back.
02:34Protect yourselves at all times.
02:36Listen to my commands.
02:36Touch them up.
02:37Back to your corner, gentlemen.
02:40A chance for Keyshawn Davis to get back on track and become the star that he believes he will be.
02:48But standing in his way, an extremely tough out, as they say,
02:53Jermaine Ortiz, who vows to humble Keyshawn Davis and stop him late.
03:00Let's see what happens here in this, our co-main event.
03:06You ready?
03:07You ready?
03:11You know, Todd, Jermaine Ortiz talked pretty tough this week.
03:14Said he was going to be physical.
03:16Said he was going to stop Keyshawn Davis.
03:18But that's exactly how Jermaine Ortiz sounded before the Teofimo Lopez fight.
03:22Then he proceeded to try to outbox Lopez using the entirety of the ring.
03:27I got to believe that the strategy for Jermaine Ortiz is similar.
03:31He has got the quicker feet.
03:33He has got the better movement.
03:34I think we're going to see a strategy similar to what we saw against Teofimo against Keyshawn tonight.
03:39I think we're going to see a good performance.
03:42Because Jermaine Ortiz looks in incredible shape.
03:46Looks muscular.
03:47This is the best I've seen him look.
03:49But he's in there with a slick, strong, confident fighter.
03:54Former champion of Keyshawn Davis.
03:55He's someone that if he catches you clean, I want to see how Ortiz is going to respond once he gets chin checked.
04:01Well, Keyshawn is an excellent body puncher.
04:03He dropped and knocked out Dennis Baranchik with two body shots in his world championship winning fight.
04:09He is a committed body puncher.
04:11And that's going to be key here.
04:12Jermaine Ortiz wants to move.
04:13Jermaine Ortiz is really athletic.
04:16The best way to slow down that athleticism is to whack Jermaine Ortiz to the body.
04:20There's a right hand from Davis.
04:21Gets Ortiz off balance a little bit.
04:24Fighting this at 140 pounds.
04:26That's a quick counter punch by Davis when Ortiz just fell off guard.
04:33He fell short with that right hand.
04:35That's exactly what you have to do.
04:36You want to pick him up with those uppercuts.
04:38That was quick thinking by Keyshawn Davis.
04:41A little surprised Jermaine Ortiz standing in the middle of the ring.
04:43You see that wide stance for Keyshawn Davis.
04:45Gets a lot of power behind his punches because of that stance.
04:48But it makes him a little bit less elusive than Jermaine Ortiz can do.
04:52Ortiz triple jabbing his way there.
04:56Some fighters can still be athletic and powerful with that wide stance.
04:59It takes athleticism, but some could do it.
05:02Roy Jones Jr. is one of them.
05:04That's a special fighter.
05:05Felix Trinidad is in there.
05:06And there's another special fighter.
05:07I'm just saying, you know, the wide stance is a misconception when it comes to the lack of power.
05:12No, no, I think the power comes from that wide stance.
05:14I just think it makes him a little bit less elusive, a little more flat-footed because of that.
05:19Keyshawn Davis from Norfolk, Virginia, the same hometown as Hall of Famer Purnell Whittaker.
05:29Nice stabbing jab down there.
05:31Yeah, Ortiz being a little more stationary than I think a lot of people thought he would be.
05:40One thing about Ortiz is that I think he's learned a lot from previous fights.
05:44He learned that he'd be in better condition after the 12-rounder against Lomachenko.
05:48And he probably learned after the lost to Lopez that he's got to try to win rounds more definitively.
05:53He can't just try to pitter-patter his way to success, especially against the guy that's going to be coming forward.
05:58Ashley's got one from Kitey.
05:59Oh no, it's back!
06:00Ain't enough! Ain't enough! Ain't enough!
06:06Man 2 compliment!
06:06Go Wilson, guys!
06:07Suffice! Nice, nice, nice!
06:08Nice!
06:19alright, I told him not to do that again.
06:19I told him not to do that again in that first round but Keyshawn Davis did land some shots
06:28like that uppercut right there and earlier that uppercut was that money punch for Davis
06:34in that round off balance wobble shot there with a right hook.
06:40Keyshawn Davis a silver medalist in the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo lost in the final to Andy
06:49Cruz was a finalist in 2019 Pan American Games lost in the final to Andy Cruz and the same
06:55thing happened to the World Amateur Championships lost to Andy Cruz he's 0 and 4 against that
07:00fighter but last week he saw the Instagram post from Keyshawn where he was swinging his belt
07:05saying how happy he was that Andy Cruz lost his first pro fight.
07:10If you're going to lose that championship record that undefeated record then that's the way to go
07:15it was an incredible fight with Raymond Mutathai and not a bad way to get blemished.
07:20You see Jermaine Ortiz fighting out of the southpaw stance he is a naturally orthodox fighter
07:24he just will switch off and if it's not going well for Jermaine in this fight we'll see him
07:29back in orthodox.
07:30and he fights from both stances pretty well and when I was studying him I thought he fought
07:36orthodox uh but then I saw him switch up to the southpaw stance he actually fights better
07:42from the southpaw stance kind of like Bud Crawford of course not to that high praise but
07:47when I watch Bud you would think he's naturally a left hander
07:50he's not.
07:53Ortiz said he would frustrate Keyshawn Davis do you see him doing that so far Sergio?
07:58No I think that Davis is in control he's getting to the right shot.
08:02I mean Ortiz is getting his respect he's not really landing nothing neither is Keyshawn just yet but
08:09I think a shot like that.
08:11And caught Jermaine Ortiz switching stances there back to the orthodox Jermaine Ortiz not ready for that right hand.
08:16And that's what you don't want to do is see it stances you've got to stick to one.
08:23Davis is stronger than I thought and this is the first time I see him up close and he's an explosive puncher.
08:28Yeah he spilled about nicely at 140 pounds.
08:31He was he's been saying that his time at 140 is probably going to be pretty brief.
08:35He can't run a huge fight in his next fight he's going up to 147.
08:39Look at the pressure that he's applying on Ortiz.
08:42Heavy front foot pressure cocking that right hand you have Ortiz really thinking.
08:50And he slowly closing the gap as well.
08:56You can see the confidence in Keyshawn through these first two rounds.
09:00And look in his eye the confidence the body language the the aggression from the pressure he's applying.
09:06Nothing's really happening but you can see that Keyshawn is just composing his will.
09:10Little by little Ortiz.
09:14Keyshawn Davis made his debut on the other card of Canelo Alvarez-Adney Yildrum fight in Miami.
09:20Who could forget that abomination of a main event.
09:23Keyshawn Davis feeling the flow here at Madison Square Garden so far.
09:45Shakur in the dressing room and look at these boxing greats.
09:48Crawford Andre Ward and Clarissa Shields that's a photo to hang on the wall.
09:53Yeah these guys these I was gonna say these guys these four have been friendly for a very long time.
09:58Shakur Stevenson has looked up to Terrence Crawford.
10:0112 to 3 edge in body shots for Keyshawn Davis in the first two rounds.
10:05That's going to be a big part of his offensive output.
10:08No better way to slow down the movement than keep digging to the body.
10:12I tell you I'm impressed with the patience of Keyshawn Davis as well.
10:15Right hand from Davis.
10:20Being a little more active than the first two rounds.
10:23Starting to open up a little bit.
10:24Ortiz trying to answer.
10:26What's Ortiz need to do differently Sergio?
10:28I think this is his fight.
10:31I think he's doing just what?
10:32Just patience.
10:33He needs to pick his shots.
10:35Not go punch for punch with the quicker hands of Davis.
10:37He's more explosive.
10:38So pick your shots and then when you're on the inside get what you can.
10:41I think he's got to move more.
10:42He's got to make Keyshawn Davis back to him.
10:45That's what really frustrated Teofimo's bench.
10:48Go back and watch that fight.
10:496th or 7th round.
10:50Teofimo finishes the round and looks out the crowd wondering why
10:54they can't get Jermaine to fight.
10:56But Jermaine had a game plan to move and to outbox Teofimo.
11:00Right now he's kind of in the middle of the ring.
11:02Fighting a different type of fight than I expected.
11:04I got to disagree for a second.
11:06Look, the way you...
11:07You're not going to compete with Davis' speed and explosive power.
11:11You got to fight Davis just like Albright did.
11:13You got to frustrate him.
11:14You got to do exactly what Ortiz is doing right now.
11:17You give him a little, you take away a little.
11:21I just think Albright had a little bit more pop than Jermaine Ortiz had.
11:24No punch, no punch, no punch.
11:25Maybe one, maybe one punch.
11:27Hot, but I think Ortiz is stronger if that makes sense.
11:29On the inside you can see that he can, he handles his own wrestling on the inside with Davis.
11:34Ortiz needs to be careful when he comes running in.
11:36Catch him with the shots.
11:37Although he landed a nice left there.
11:39Best punch maybe in the fight for Jermaine Ortiz.
11:42Short left hand by Ortiz.
11:44Landed perfect on David.
11:45David ate that up pretty well.
11:50See right here's where you got to take it away from, from David.
11:53That made a good shot, not boxed.
11:55Now get on your back foot.
11:56If you can alternate five-year-old Fluxford, getting your next and going back,
12:00that's how you're going to frustrate someone like Davis.
12:02No punch, no punch.
12:03No punch, no punch.
12:04Stop, no punch.
12:05And that's probably the same game plan that Tio Fimo needs to bring.
12:09For Shakur.
12:09Give a little, take a little.
12:19All right, when I say stop, please stop lunch and let me separate you, all right?
12:22He is a road warrior when it comes to the Knicks.
12:24No bigger Knicks fan, maybe no bigger NBA fan than Spike Lee.
12:28It's got to be the shoes.
12:32Here we go, round four through 12.
12:34Did you give that round to Ortiz, Chris?
12:36It seemed pretty close.
12:38Ortiz had a nice finish there.
12:39I thought Keyshawn lay did the cleaner shots in the first two minutes of the round.
12:42I agree, he was on the front foot trying to push the fight as well.
12:45Even though Ortiz is excellent on the back foot, you got to respect the front foot aggression
12:51that Davis has.
12:52He's not really landing nothing, but he's imposing his will right now.
12:57Great, great boxing by both.
12:59Do you like this jittery style from Ortiz?
13:01Just try to give him a different look.
13:03That's exactly his style.
13:04That's what makes him a spoiler.
13:05He's got to land one of those short shots and then get out, back off, and make Keyshawn
13:14Davis chase him.
13:15He's got to frustrate Keyshawn.
13:16He's got to make Keyshawn overextend, make some mistakes.
13:19All right, stop, no points.
13:20Ortiz, 50% KO ratio, 10 knockouts and his 20 wins.
13:24Coming off the third round stoppage back in August.
13:30All right, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop.
13:32Watch it, watch it straight back, straight back, go.
13:37CX, back to the jab, come on.
13:45Big left hand there by Ortiz.
13:48Ortiz closes the distance and the range really fast.
13:51You know, Keyshawn is going to be explosive with counter punches,
13:54but Ortiz closes that distance really well.
13:57Excellent timing by Jermaine Ortiz.
13:59And Keyshawn from a fighting family.
14:02His brothers, Kelvin and Keyon, also fight professionally.
14:14Ortiz is looking sharp.
14:15And he's been looking sharp the last two rounds competitive.
14:18But right now, this is Ortiz' round.
14:20I like the way he's looking.
14:21He can continue this and start getting respect and pushing David's back like he is right now.
14:27Imposes will get some respect.
14:30Seems like Ortiz is expending a lot of energy with all this movement.
14:33I wonder how he's going to look in the championship rounds.
14:35I think he'll be okay.
14:36Just based on the Teofimo fight, where he looked as fresh in the 12th round as he did in the first.
14:40He was moving a lot more than he's moving right now.
14:42And based on his physique, he looks in incredible shape.
14:46I like this foot fence by Ortiz.
15:01See that?
15:02Nice little foot fence.
15:03Duncan's landing.
15:05But I like that.
15:06I like the strategy by Jermaine Ortiz right now.
15:08He's on the front foot.
15:09He's foot painting.
15:10He brings some good shots.
15:12Good body shot there by David.
15:15That slowed Ortiz down.
15:16Yeah, it did.
15:19Let's see for the ball.
15:20A pretty good round for the Massachusetts native.
15:22Nice.
15:23Nice.
15:24Nice.
15:25Nice.
15:25Nice.
15:34All the way back.
15:35Stay in peace.
15:35Stay in peace.
15:36Stay in peace.
15:37Stay in peace.
15:37Stay in peace.
15:38Stay in peace.
15:38Stay in peace.
15:39Stay in peace.
15:39Stay in peace.
15:40Stay in peace.
15:40Stay in peace.
15:40Stay in peace.
15:41Stay in peace.
15:44Super lightweight battle.
15:45140 pounds between Keyshawn Davis, Jermaine Ortiz.
15:50Round five scheduled for 12.
15:56Davis, the world champion, 135 pounds moving up to 140.
15:59And as Chris mentioned earlier, he might move up sooner than later to 147.
16:08Davis is going to try to have to make it a little bit more physical,
16:11but we'll take more chances here because 14 is actually fighting good at the outside range,
16:16that mid-range.
16:17Where's your pullback?
16:20What are the body movements strong?
16:22As you can see right there, picking Davis off the ground.
16:26They're going to have to get a little bit more aggressive.
16:29I think there's combinations of front foot pressure.
16:31I think there's combinations of front foot pressure.
16:32Let's check out Chris.
16:33It's the scorecard through four rounds.
16:35Yeah, I've got three rounds to one in favor of Keyshawn Davis.
16:38Got pretty clean through the first three rounds.
16:40Nothing spectacular, but worked that jab and worked the body.
16:42Gave Jermaine Ortiz that last round.
16:44Effective round.
16:45Nothing big landing on Keyshawn Davis, but snuck that jab in there.
16:48A few body shots, 39-37, Keyshawn Davis.
16:52Let's see if the fan zone agrees.
16:54All four rounds they have given to Davis.
16:57I thought an argument could be made to give that first round to Jermaine Ortiz.
17:10It's a competitive fight, but I see Davis controlling the action.
17:15No one has really taken control.
17:20Score your own fight, Todd.
17:21We can always scroll through Twitter and see how they feel by your scorecard.
17:28This is what I'm talking about.
17:29Jermaine Ortiz, calling him a championship bird.
17:33And he knows a good body shot right there.
17:35That caught the attention of Ortiz.
17:38He didn't like that body shot.
17:40And now Ortiz, the movement has stopped.
17:42And this is where Keyshawn can jump on it if he chooses.
17:44Let's go, control his head now.
17:50As you want, as you want, for our manor gila.
17:56Jermaine Ortiz, one of seven children in his family,
18:01began fighting in Worcester at the Boys and Girls Club,
18:04as so many fighters have done over the years.
18:06Always such a good organization.
18:08And he stuck with it.
18:09He's of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent.
18:12He's coming forward now against Keyshawn.
18:22I like that upper body movement by Ortiz,
18:25but I like to see him jab his way in instead of just, you know,
18:28muscling or trying to be athletic like that.
18:30See, that's roughing your way in.
18:32You got to jab your way in.
18:33Another body movement set, but doing it with some punches as well.
18:37It's fine, but you got to start throwing punches.
18:48If you're going to fight this particular style,
18:50where you're not landing consequential shots,
18:52you've got to increase your activity.
18:54Agreed, and it doesn't have to be big punches.
18:57It could be jabs.
18:57It could be double, triple the jabs.
18:59But I like his foot fencing to have a body to put some punches behind it.
19:02Well, speaking of jabs,
19:03Davis has landed 31 compared to just six for Ortiz.
19:07And that's been the difference of this competitive fight.
19:09I mean, they're going back and forth,
19:11but only one guy's fencing with a jab, and that's Davis.
19:14There's always that front foot battle to watch when a southpaw,
19:27or when he's in a southpaw stance, taking on an orthodox fighter.
19:33There's a long jab by Ortiz.
19:34If he can continue doing that jab,
19:36bagging up Davis and try to get something going.
19:40Nice pivot move by Davis to get control again,
19:42and backing up Ortiz.
19:44Beautiful boxing right now by Davis.
19:49All right, it's a little restless.
19:51It's surprising to me to see Ortiz
19:54willing to back against the ropes or hang in the corner.
19:56He was so effective against Lopez,
19:59just spinning out and frustrating him that way.
20:05All right, back to the jab, baby.
20:09You can hear the corner imploring Ortiz
20:12to go back to the jab.
20:15Keyshawn pushing forward.
20:20Nice jab followed up by a right hand.
20:22There's a really good performance from Keyshawn Davis.
20:24The ring generalship has been solid through the first half of this play.
20:27Close jabs to Ortiz, Sergio.
20:28Even when they come in,
20:29Keyshawn's parrying a lot of them away.
20:31Maddox, for the first time, I agree with you.
20:33Look, not much is happening, but Keyshawn,
20:35he's doing a lot of subtle great things that's keeping Ortiz
20:40from doing what his coaches want to do.
20:43Jabbing, coming forward, and they're going punches.
20:45Keyshawn is preventing him to do that.
20:47It's a slight footprint.
20:48It's a counter shot.
20:50It's a selection of punches that he's throwing.
20:53Nice, nice, nice, right?
20:55Swing and a mess with the uppercut from Ortiz.
20:57Nice, here you go.
20:58Nice, here you go.
21:02Legenda now, okay?
21:04Is this the Keyshawn Davis you thought you would see tonight, Sergio?
21:08In the first half of the fight, not yet, but we still got the second half of the fight.
21:12And look, you got to respect Jermaine Ortiz for keeping him that,
21:15keeping him pride in this first half.
21:17These are two world-class fighters.
21:19The more stationary that Jermaine Ortiz stays, good shot there.
21:23Nice left hand, yeah.
21:24From Jurek.
21:24The more stationary he stays, I think it's better for Keyshawn Davis.
21:27Keyshawn is the bigger puncher between the two.
21:29Let's go.
21:31That jab is just muddy for him.
21:37Davis continues to score almost at will with him.
21:40Let's go.
21:41Move.
21:42Nice, finish strong.
21:47Just making his debut as a full-fledged 140-pounder.
21:52So far, looking pretty good.
21:55Ortiz has had moments of success, but the majority of the rounds have surely gone to Davis.
22:01And on cue, let's look at Chris Mannix's scorecard.
22:06Have you given Ortiz any more rounds?
22:08No, 59-55 in favor of Keyshawn Davis.
22:11Sergio, I know you love the movement and the ring generalship of Jermaine Ortiz
22:14and just how he looks there in the ring, but these rounds are pretty clean being won by Keyshawn Davis.
22:20The more impactful shots, eye-catching shots are all Keyshawn Davis.
22:2459-55 through six rounds.
22:26Listen, I definitely think Davis is winning this fight.
22:28He's got to give respect for Ortiz.
22:30That's what the subtle thing he's doing to keep Davis from unleashing like he normally does.
22:36Now you see in this round, Keyshawn is starting to close the gap a little bit, push Ortiz back.
22:41So you can see, you can see Davis is eager to get the hard combinations going,
22:45but Ortiz is doing these real subtle shifts, little things to keep Davis off.
22:50But Davis is definitely winning this fight.
22:52Nice job by Davis to get out of the fray before Ortiz could clinch him and hold him.
22:57So the power punch is through six rounds.
23:03Is that a big discrepancy?
23:05In fact, they're tied.
23:0734-34, Ortiz throwing a few more punches.
23:10And that's kind of what I'm seeing right there.
23:13Even though Davis is probably winning this round, it's Ortiz that's still getting the respect of Davis
23:19with the counter shots, with the punches that he's thinking of landing.
23:23Even though they're not landing, Davis still has to be leery of those.
23:28The power punches are razor close, but the jab battle certainly weighs heavily in favor of Keyshawn Davis.
23:34That's the reason I believe he's winning this fight and controlling the pace of the fight.
23:39Because Ortiz is not jabbing like he should.
23:40But if he could be jabbing like that on the front foot coming forward, not getting countered,
23:46then it could look like he's initiating the pressure.
23:49Kind of a backhand slap from Jermaine Ortiz there with that lead right hand.
23:56Oh, counter right, a good one from Ortiz.
23:58And Keyshawn nods at him, says, yeah, you got me.
24:04And again.
24:06Any time Davis seems to do anything, Ortiz is unleashing those hooks.
24:11Goes to show you the radar that Keyshawn Davis has already.
24:15He's not worried about him.
24:16He stays in the pocket and still punches.
24:23That's natural championship instinct by Keyshawn Davis, man, where he doesn't have to jump back
24:29to make his opponent miss.
24:30He just stays so cool and collected in the pocket.
24:36Can't teach though.
24:40Yeah.
24:45Which way did you have it going?
24:47Some power punches landing for Ortiz in that seventh round.
24:51Well, we've talked about power punches and jabs, but as far as body blows go,
25:02Davis has landed 40 compared to 16 from Ortiz.
25:06For the first time we see Jermaine Ortiz turning orthodox now.
25:11You're trying to slip something up on Davis now.
25:14Yeah, he does that in his fights.
25:16He might start one way, then go the other.
25:18And that usually means he's trying to mix up the game plan.
25:21He hasn't been having success.
25:22Steve!
25:25Nice.
25:27Now hold on back to the chai.
25:28Look at that chai!
25:29This is Carlos' chai, baby.
25:37A pickup and set back down from Keyshawn Davis.
25:40That's all, Cole Cole body slammed.
25:44Jesse Hart left with Las Vegas in a similar scenario.
25:49So other than just throwing more punches, Sergio, is there anything Ortiz could be doing differently
26:00right now, or is this just how he's going to fight?
26:02I think Keyshawn's not letting him get anything started, man.
26:06He's dealing with a very, very special fight.
26:10Keyshawn doesn't have this instinct that he can't teach.
26:13I mean, anytime Jermaine tries to do anything, he's just missing.
26:19Keyshawn can tend to let Ortiz come to him.
26:26Big left there from Davis.
26:29Why do you guys like Davis, man?
26:31They get frustrated missing so much.
26:33There's a frustration being shown by Ortiz.
26:38When you can't land anything clearly, you have to get physical in certain wrestling.
26:44Thomas Taylor is nipping out in the boat.
26:49Still to come our main event, Tiafimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson.
26:56140-pound ring title on the line.
26:59Shakur the challenger as he moves up in weight.
27:05How many body shots from either of these guys, I would think?
27:09Both of them have good upper body movement.
27:11They're really sharp.
27:12I want to see more body punch.
27:13They're going to have their jabs, just like that.
27:15Just to get your opponent from stopping moving his upper body.
27:19Keyshawn's had a lot of body shots.
27:21While I'm talking about Ortiz a little bit more.
27:28I think Ortiz needs to get something going for the body.
27:31Ortiz trying to make it a little rough around the edges there in the quarter.
27:37Davis holds on to him.
27:38Yeah, that's what you should do because you've got to land anything cleanly upstairs.
27:42Ortiz is.
27:43So you've got to take what you can.
27:44That's going to be downstairs.
27:48You get frustrated and discouraged when you're missing head shots.
27:51But if you're missing and you're lending anything to the body or the force or the arms,
27:56then you get some kind of confidence.
28:17Catching Ortiz.
28:19So much skill is being displayed by both fighters,
28:24but more athleticism, more agile talent coming from Keyshawn.
28:28He's looking for an opener.
28:30He's trying to get something going.
28:31Ortiz is just one of these clever veterans that wouldn't allow him.
28:45Davis promised to be amazing tonight.
28:49He's saying that Ortiz just too emotional, that he's in his head.
28:54He says, listen, I'm bigger and faster than Lomachenko was.
28:58And Lomachenko had his way with this guy.
29:00I'll do even better as we look at Chris Manich's scorecard.
29:02Yeah, I've got 79-73 in favor of Keyshawn Davis.
29:07I just think he's done the better work, has the more eye-catching shots.
29:10We started a couple of rounds ago.
29:11The power shots were even, but not all power shots are created equal in box.
29:17And I think that Keyshawn Davis has had the more consequential punches of the night.
29:2179-73 on my card.
29:22And this is what I respect by Keyshawn Davis.
29:25They can be easily boxing, but they're on the front foot.
29:27They want to make it a fight.
29:29He wants to land something.
29:30Keyshawn Davis has like this chip on his shoulder, mean strength type.
29:33He's not content with bagging rounds.
29:36He wants to go for the stoppage.
29:38He wants to hurt his opponent.
29:39Well, Ortiz trying to push the tempo, force Keyshawn back.
29:53And that's what he should be doing.
29:54Let's go, baby.
29:55Look, I was partially blocked by Davis.
29:59Well, you also got to respect Jermaine Ortiz, man.
30:01I mean, he wants to get something going.
30:04He's trying to figure something out.
30:06Let's go.
30:08But I would think it would start from the bottom up.
30:10And that's why I was talking about more body shots coming from Ortiz.
30:14He needs more body shots.
30:16There's a little bit of success from Ortiz.
30:19Good round by Ortiz.
30:26Nice jab from Davis.
30:30Slight swelling around the eyes of Ortiz right now.
30:34He walked right into that left hand from Davis.
30:36This crowd is still waiting for something special to happen in this fight.
30:50A big moment.
30:56Ortiz seems to be letting his hands go a little bit more here.
30:59He's starting to hit both hands downstairs as well.
31:02He's a good run by Ortiz.
31:03He's coming forward, letting some good shots.
31:04I don't know if Davis taking one run off before Ortiz finding and holding himself.
31:13He's getting more body shots.
31:14There you go.
31:16Ortiz needs to keep going with this exact strategy right now.
31:21Do it behind jabs.
31:21And once he throws that range, he goes down there.
31:23Oh, my God, that's out.
31:25Yeah.
31:26Are you here?
31:27Hey.
31:41All right.
31:42Round 10.
31:43Scheduled for 12.
31:44Will this fight just keep going steady as she goes, or will one of these fighters make
31:51a memory, so to speak?
31:55Well, when you're dealing with a championship spoiler, like I talked about with Jermaine Ortiz,
32:01he's never been stopped.
32:02Oh, that's right there for Keyshawn.
32:04And he set it up early with the left hook as well.
32:06Good couple of punches from Keyshawn.
32:08And here's the dangerous part of Ortiz.
32:09He got hit with a big right hand, but still checked him with the left hook.
32:12He got caught Davis as well.
32:15And Ortiz wanted to stay in the pocket here at the start of round 10.
32:19He made that choice after the last round.
32:21He had to make a change given where he has to know he is in this fight.
32:29Ortiz punching with Davis now.
32:33That's what you like to see with spoilers like Ortiz.
32:37Guys with talent, guys that have been on the championship level, when they're falling behind,
32:40they've got to start taking chances if they want to win.
32:42Ortiz is trying to win right now.
32:44Keyshawn just missed with that counter right hand.
32:51Ortiz taking more risks now, looking for the reward.
32:55Exactly.
32:58That one on the outside now, punch.
33:03Oh, boy.
33:08And Davis taking chances now, trying to counter with his right hand right there.
33:13But you can easily get caught with overhand punches doing that.
33:16You can see the swelling on the left eye of Ortiz right now above the eyelid and below.
33:21It's impressive to see how calm Davis stays under pressure.
33:35No jumping back, no getting startled, just barely making his opponent feel.
33:41It's the instinct, the fighting instinct of Keyshawn Davis.
33:48It's impressive.
33:48There's a right from Ortiz.
33:50Persistence paying off there.
33:54Good one-two right down the pipe.
33:56Just kidding.
33:58Body shot.
34:05He missed with the home runner's uppercut.
34:07It's Davis.
34:07Davis
34:10Keeshaan Davis going forward here has its potential benefits.
34:15He's looking for a big fight.
34:17He was challenging Devin Haney during this fight at 147 pounds.
34:21There are unification fights.
34:22Richardson Hitchens is out there.
34:24Those two are going at each other at the first press conference of this fight a month ago.
34:28Best way to push yourself into one of those fights is to end this fight in a spectacular way.
34:37He's trying to get to stop. It's become the first man to stop Jermaine Ortiz.
34:42No. It's both.
34:50We're in the championship rounds here at Madison Square Garden.
34:55As they'll take a look at the swelling around the eyes of Jermaine Ortiz.
35:00It's fine. It's fine. It's fine.
35:04And then we'll let him continue.
35:06Yeah, that left eye of Ortiz.
35:08Pretty big bump there right on the eyelid.
35:10That's only going to get worse over these last couple of rounds.
35:15Especially with Keeshaan targeting with the right hand.
35:17I was going to say a nice bullseye now for Keeshaan to go after.
35:20He wants the stoppage, no doubt about it, there's Keeshaan.
35:25Oh, you can see how aggressive he is on the front foot.
35:28Trying to find something good.
35:31Hey, if Ortiz is looking for the same thing,
35:33he might be able to find it as we jump into Chris Mannix's scorecard.
35:37Ray, you gave Ortiz another round.
35:38Yeah, nice grab it.
35:40A big body shot.
35:42A sweeping left hand from Keeshaan.
35:45Keeshaan.
35:46That's what I was talking about.
35:47Keeshaan still going for the knockout.
35:48Seven.
35:49Oh, man.
35:50I just got it.
35:51Nine.
35:52He's up at nine.
35:53Cash Payne is still going to linger though.
35:56Keeshaan Davis, he's a body snatcher.
36:00He says he's amazing now.
36:02Can he get that finish?
36:05Back to the body again as Ortiz tries to hold on.
36:08Not letting him clinch, not letting him hold.
36:11He's got to look for that overhand right.
36:15Boy, these are heavy shots from the businessman.
36:21Ortiz has nowhere to go.
36:23He's got to fight his way out of this.
36:29Impatient with the power.
36:31With Davis still looking for the right shot.
36:34Not throwing and wasting any shots.
36:37He's looking for the right power punch.
36:39He's got two bullseyes to go after.
36:40The swelling over the right eye or the body shot.
36:43A deep breath from Ortiz.
36:45But there's no reprieve from this assault for Davis.
36:53Good body shot down there.
36:55Keep going downstairs.
36:56That'd be Davis.
37:02Davis taunting the corner now.
37:04of Ortiz.
37:05Oh, Ortiz lands a right hand.
37:06He's enjoying himself.
37:07He's digging into the body still.
37:09Picking his shot.
37:10Can Ortiz survive this 11th round?
37:13I said, man.
37:14David's looking at the corner of Ortiz nodding his head like, no.
37:15Hey, nothing going to happen here.
37:17Did Davis expend too much energy?
37:18No way.
37:19I think he's saving something for the last round.
37:20He's still going to go for the knockout.
37:21You can see why he's swinging and missing.
37:22He's still throwing a lot of power with those shots of Stain Bellens.
37:24Oh, almost cracked into that uppercut.
37:25Looks like Davis got poked in the eye.
37:31expend too much energy no way i think he's saving something for the last round he's still
37:37gonna go for the knockout you can see why he's swinging and missing he's still throwing a lot
37:41of power with those shots with same villains oh almost cracked into that uppercut
37:48looks like david got poked in the eye yeah but good on ortiz to get off the canvas and
37:54stay in this fight as keishon's going to take a breather
38:05and now that swelling on the left eye has opened up and it's a cut now
38:12and eight round there for davis
38:14right hand got ricocheted off the glove of ortiz
38:26look at this body shot right there he was covering up elbows up open up a little bit too wide right
38:32on the ribs right there that's a painful shot guys i don't know how jermaine ortiz picked himself up
38:40after that body shot all right let's see how aggressive keishon davis is here in the 12th round
38:49they'll take another look at ortiz
39:01take a look at him
39:10stay right here actually come here come here stop last round guys keep this nice and clean last round
39:16straight back go time in davis has that look in his eye
39:22he's got a wounded animal in front of him can he put him out of his misery if he's going to put him
39:28out it's going to be with speed and combinations now a one-eyed fighters in front of him now now he
39:33can throw the overhead lights it's going to be harder but jermaine ortiz to see those punches
39:40but credit to ortiz man he's held his own maybe not winning rounds but held his own and getting
39:45the respect another shot for key shot right there yeah you can see ortiz breathing with his mouth open now
39:52he's got to keep that right elbow tucked in to protect that rib cage and meanwhile that leaves the
39:58head open and davis just landed the shots that's exactly what it does when you're covering the ribs you're
40:03opening up the head
40:04and what a statement queshawn davis can send to the whole 140 pound division he can get a stoppage in the
40:15last round it's a championship technician and spoiler like jermaine ortiz chris mannix has it 108 100
40:25no surprise with that today round davis opened up a very big lead here go take something special
40:31from jermaine ortiz from jermaine ortiz a knockout i don't think he's got the pop to do it 108 100
40:36in favor of queshawn davis big question now is can davis get the stoppage if he can get another body shot
40:56this is a really good performance from queshawn davis mostly because there was some unpredictability
41:01in what he would look like coming back new team new trainer new weight the way 2025 ended really
41:07tough for queshawn davis but him coming back and really dominating a fighter like jermaine ortiz
41:12like this shows he's a player now in this 140 pound division
41:16body again from davis
41:30that's 45 seconds to try and close the show
41:32but ortiz as tough as they come sergio yeah he is i mean uh respectable performance by ortiz but
41:41there's too much talent and skill by queshawn davis and still going for the knockout
41:49and
41:57chopping right now
41:58that hurt yeah
41:59And down to the body, they'll take a knee again, and they'll stop it with just seconds to go.
42:07Keyshawn Davis!
42:08Stay right here, brother.
42:10Wow, and the goal is carried all the way to the championship round, to the 12th round,
42:16and a new division, a new puncher, a new player in town.
