00:07The Dune sequel is arriving a little earlier than expected.
00:11After Disney announced they were hitting pause on the release of the Marvel Studios pick Blade,
00:16Warner Brothers revealed it will now open Denis Villeneuve's Dune Part 2 on Blade's old date of November 3rd, 2023.
00:23This moves the film up two weeks instead of its original November 17th, 2023 release date.
00:29The Dune sequel will star Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin,
00:35and newcomers to the franchise Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Christopher Walken.
00:41Part 2 tackles the second half of Frank Herbert's seminal 1965 novel Dune,
00:46with Paul Atreides, played by Chalamet, attempting to free the desert planet of Arrakis.
00:51The first Dune performed well at the box office despite facing the COVID-19 crisis
00:55and hitting theaters and HBO Max day and date in October of 2021.
01:00The sci-fi pick grossed north of $400 million globally and won six Oscars.
