Don Lemon vows to fight charges after arrest

Journalist Don Lemon vowed to continue reporting the news in remarks outside a Los Angeles federal courthouse on Friday.
Lemon entered a not guilty plea to federal charges over his role covering a protest at a Minnesota church against President Donald Trump's immigration crackdown, the Republican administration's latest move against a critic.
A magistrate judge ordered Lemon released to await trial, after a night in custody following his arrest late on Thursday (January 29) by the FBI.

00:00I have spent my entire career covering the news.
00:26I will not stop now.
00:29In fact, there is no more important time than right now, this very moment, for a free and
00:37independent media that shines a light on the truth and holds those in power accountable.
00:42Again, I will not stop now.
00:44I will not stop ever.
00:55Last night, the DOJ sent a team of federal agents to arrest me in the middle of the night for
01:00something that I've been doing for the last 30 years, and that is covering the news.
01:07The First Amendment of the Constitution protects that work for me and for countless of other
01:12journalists who do what I do.
01:16I stand with all of them, and I will not be silenced.
01:21I look forward to my day in court.
01:23Thank you all.
01:30Amen.
