US journalist Don Lemon arrested after covering anti-ICE protest at Minnesota church

Lemon, who was fired from CNN in 2023, has said he has no affiliation to the organisation that went into the church and that he was there as a journalist chronicling protesters.

00:00U.S. journalist and former CNN anchor Don Lemon and three others were arrested on Friday
00:06in connection with an anti-ice protest that disrupted service at a Minnesota church.
00:12Lemon was arrested by federal agents in Los Angeles, where he had been covering the Grammy Awards,
00:17according to his attorney.
00:19It's unclear what charges Lemon and the others are facing in the 18 January protest at City's church in St. Paul.
00:26In a post on X, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the arrest,
00:32saying Lemon was directly involved with what she called a, quote,
00:35coordinated attack on the church.
00:38Lemon, who was fired from CNN in 2023, said he had no affiliation with the organization that went into the church
00:45and that he was just there as a journalist covering the story.
00:49His arrest came after a magistrate judge rejected prosecutors' initial bid to charge him last week,
00:55pending sufficient evidence.
